Firstly there's a Tapas menu and a Turkish influence on the food (Turkish owner I was told) but the head Chef is Portugese? So I imagine some Portugese flavours seep into the mix at some stage. As we enter into the 16th year of the 21st century I presume innovation in foodie collaborations will lead to more places like this. Onto the food.. The tapas menu is nothing short of fantastic. The breads are baked fresh onsite and are delicious. The Filetitos (strips of lamb fillet I think?), Pan seared Scallops with clams and the Gamberoni Pilpil (prawns) are sensational choices from the tapas menu. I for one cannot wait to rattle out a full blown review upon my return when I'll no doubt goorge on the Beef Stroganoff which I hear is divine. So watch this space...

Service followed in a similar vein all evening, walking a tightrope between irritating and endearing. If you ever feel like you have no mates, come here because they're all your bezzers. It's a good job the food was good - really good, in fact. You know sometimes when you're eating you get a perfect mouthful? A brilliant combination of flavours and textures all in one bite. This is what happened when I wrapped silky hummus and salty halloumi in a piece of garlic butter lathered lavash, with a black olive crammed in for good measure. Oh wow. This is possibly all I want to eat for the rest of my life. I felt slightly uninspired by a lot of the main course options, but my choice of pide (Turkish pizza) with spicy sausage was a solid one. In a lot of ways, much better than regular pizza - the lavash base is so soft and wonderfully chewy at the same time. Instead of desserts we opted for cocktails. My friend chose one from the menu with rosewater and cucumber and I let the chirpy waiter 'put something together for me'. Lord knows what that was but it had strawberries in it and was very nice. The falafels that I ordered looked like cheesebites and the flavour was a bit bland but the tzatziki sauce brough the dish back with some flavour as it was well seasoned (£5.90). I really enjoyed the Saganaki and the way it has been coated in golden crispy goodness against the texture of the cheese that was similar to halloumi ( £7.50). However the best dish for me was Pastichio ( £9.50), greek macaroni with bechemel sauce and a hint of cinnamon. It is layered together similar to a lasagne. The rich sweet tomato sauce really took me back to my greek holiday in Symi. This place is average in terms of value for money but the service is outstanding. Plus the food brings a bit of mediterranean sun into the Village. Didn't get to try Lamb Souvlaki (£12.50) and Lamb Giannotioko (£12.75) as hubby and friend were way too hungry to share food! I also recommend the curry. This isn't anything like you'd get in Rusholme or the likes but more like a home style curry you'd make at home but this with the rice 'n' chickpeas is lovely. Seating area is large and this place is very clean. I would highly recommend. Delivery service has always been good whenever I've used it whilst at work.

The mains didn't appear to blow any of us away with deliciousness - they were just underwhelming. If we went back we'd probably just order more starters. That's a two course dinner, and I'd suggest the Scottish smoked haddock and the cold poached salmon. However whatever you chose is likely to be top notch as mentioned. Loch Fyne is what I would consider to be one of those safe bets when you are out dining. The Wirral has one and it is arguably one of the best restaurants in the region.
