Finessed her selections with the knowledge that is built up over the years. Definite care for planting and imbued to the core with legacy knowledge. I liked that. And the humor was extra. Perfect if you like the droll and dry side. I was recently there in the summer and the quality of plants and amount of stock available was first rate. I just attended their Spring Container Gardening Class. You can bring your own planters and they will furnish the proper mixture of soil for the plants you choose. What an informative class! The instructor, Matt Garland, was very knowledgeable - and entertaining! He explained everything from fertilizers to design, answered all of our specific questions, and assisted each person in choosing the right plants for their needs. In fact, all of their staff was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. I will definitely attend another class at My Achin' Back. I stopped in as a Salesman for Landscaping border on a Friday afternoon. The place was extremely busy. The employee running the register was so respectful and knowledgeable. Several customers in front of me were asking questions and she was giving them her undivided attention. As I was nearing the counter for my turn she asked me did I mind if she helped her current customer to the car as she was an elderly lady. I just smiled and nodded. This is my favorite garden center ever! They have beautiful plants and flowers and they are willing to work with you to find the right flower or bush for your garden. I have called to ask questions about my garden and they are always willing to help even when I am not in the store making a purchase. Their shop also has great gifts for your home and garden. Beautiful decor items for almost every style. They have gorgeous hats and gloves to protect you while outside, plus every tool you would ever need. I also love how kind they are to my children. Toddlers are always fascinated by plants and flowers and this family oriented shop has shown my son how to water plants and look at flowers without harming them. Plus, whenever I am carrying my baby, they always help me out to the car. The quality and service at this local shop cannot be beat! read more

This is a great garden center. They are so knowledgable and helpful. I'm very impressed with their customer service and their selection of offerings. We bought our Christmas Tree from them last year. The staff is actually eager to help, will offer suggestions for your particular growing needs, and even help you load everything into your vehicle. A nice local nursery in the area with a nice selection of plants, flowers, and trees. They also have a nice gift shop inside with some cute and unique gifts for your home and garden. We had a few questions about some of the plants we were looking at and the staff was helpful. Pricing was a bit higher than big box retailers, but reasonable for a local nursery. This was our first time buying plants here, so we'll see how they do over the season. We had a couple of coupons and they were nice enough to split our transaction up so that we could take advantage of both coupons in one visit. We also wound up with a free bag of potting soil, which someone kindly brought out to our car for us. He then even offered us some plastic to put down first so that our car wouldn't get all dirty! All in all, great customer service and we really liked the variety of the selections here. You can definitely find some things that you just won't find at those big box retailers. I have never bought anything from here other than from their florist section, so this review is only for that part of the business (although I noticed they did have a great selection of garden items). I was looking for somewhere to get Mother's day flowers for my Mom (from my Dad because he was out of town, but that's not important I suppose). I had never been here before but decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad I did! I wasn't really sure what I wanted, and I was a little alarmed at first when they said they didn't have a book with floral arrangements to choose from, but now I'm glad that they didn't because I got to pick out the perfect bouquet for my Mom. I told the woman working there the flowers that I liked, the color vase that I wanted, and my $100 price limit, but I left most of my instructions pretty vague and up to the florist to decide. I wandered through the store's flower selection outside because I decided to wait there to pick up my flowers since Mother's Day was only 2 days away. Within a few minutes I was told my flowers were ready, and I was given the most beautiful arrangement I've ever seen! All of the flowers were incredibly healthy and with the store's free savings card (which gives you 5% off every purchase) the total came out to only $75 for flowers my parents thought I spent well over $100 for. If you're looking for a florist, definitely go to Achin' Back Garden Center; I'll never go back to a different florist again! I posted a picture of the flowers I got from Achin' Back Garden Center (I believe it's photo 48), and it doesn't even do them justice! Pros-- Extremely helpful staff; great value; beautiful, healthy flowers; convenient location; great selection; and quick service. I've always had good experiences at Achin' Back. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, but if they don't know something, they don't pretend to know the answer just to sell you something that won't work. Some things are pricey but I marked them as moderate because there are regular discounts with the store card, and their threes and shrubs are always good deals. The selection is excellent and includes natives, but they have special-ordered things for me that they didn't have in stock. Great selection of organic products, spring annuals (I've never seen so many different Coleus in one place) and they carry the best organic potting medium and amendments. Lots of gifts for gardeners, nice fresh cut flowers. Christmas at Achin' Back is not to be missed, with all kinds of fresh greenery, wreaths, beautiful live and cut trees, garland, poinsettias, and a vast collection of ornaments. read more
