Bird nest right above the main patio door

This is not even a one star resort! So gross!! Giant hair ball in one bed, hairs and crumbs in another, extremely disgusting place!!! Kitchen table was covered in dried slop! Good thing I brought my own disinfecting wipes! We slept in full clothing! Bedspreads were so old and nasty!! Floor though out the house would blacken feet or socks in seconds!! Back patio was full of spider webs and birds nests/poop above the main door!!! We checked out early and saved ourselves!!!

This was our second stay at Acorns and the addition of the Cove restaurant and outdoor patio is very nice.

Hands down a great first experience and would absolutely return again and become members. They have weekly activities as well, so I suggest you check the website first.

Our 3rd nudist resort stop was at Prairie Haven, in Scranton, KS (about an hour outside of Kansas…read moreCity). It was remotely located down a gravel road, and had a beautiful welcoming front entrance. The whole grounds had lovely old trees which gave it a beautiful natural feel. We chose to stay in a small bathroom-less "cabin" rather than tent since it was going to just be a quick overnight stay (and forecasted to rain in the a.m.). As with the last two places, this was an AANR nudist resort, not clothing optional. It was perfect weather so we took a dip in the in-ground pool and met some lovely members. The hot tub was hopping & we listened to stories & shared ours. Only one couple had been to any FL resorts or any other nudist resorts. It is in a pretty remote area. They had a second above-ground "activity"pool reserved for lap swimming, aerobics, and pool volleyball. Both pools had newer deck areas around them & the sunning deck had new colorful chairs & umbrellas. The rest of the facilities were quite a bit older (probably original from the 70's) & starting to look & feel a little sad and in need of some structural & esthetic updates. Same with our "cabin" - it was a small structure divided into two bedrooms by a flimsy, thin wall. That's all we're gonna to say about that. The small, stuffy clubhouse has a fully stocked community kitchen. It doesn't look like it's used for anything more than that. But it was clean & functional & appreciated. There was also a large covered pavilion with an outdoor kitchen area. Their old sand volleyball court was turned into a pickleball court, which was next to a remote-controlled car dirt track. Seems to be a thing in the mid-west. Wish we could be there for one of those events. There is a huge, very flat open field which they said they use for fireworks displays, Molke, and golf cart races! We strolled up on their weekly game of Molke & were quickly invited to play. We love this about nudist places - everyone is always welcoming & inclusive. This club only allows a limited amount of male or female single visitors or members (10% of their membership) so keep that in mind. And after 3 visits, you have to become a member. It is a co-op where everyone is expected to pitch in to maintain the facilities & grounds to some degree. If you visit, look for the many adorable (mostly nude) gnomes sprinkled throughout the common areas. It was almost like a scavenger hunt to find them all. It lent itself to the rustic whimsy of the place!

I asked and was told that Weaver Hotel was the best so I headed back to where I parked and went in the door which led to a gift area. I purposely left my boots unzipped. As I stood there and waited for someone to notice me I looked around. The dining room was empty except one table with two gentleman talking quietly. When an employee finally noticed me I was asked if I was here for takeout and then as I answered the person that asked walked away into a noisy kitchen shouting "hold on I can't hear you". When I told her I wanted to eat, she passed me off to another employee who then assumed I was there for the takeout and commenced ringing me up for it. I then told her again that k wanted to sit and eat and asked if that was possible. She said yes and pointed to another employee whom she said was the cook. She told the cook that I wanted to eat, to which the cook replied "ok", didn't look up at me, and walked right past me. As she walked away, she shouted over her shoulder "what do you want?" I said I'd take the lunch special and she walked away. I stood there and said "do I just sit anywhere?" Yes, was the response. I was then brought my food, never checked on again, never asked where I was from or how I was, nothing. I guess small town hospitality or just manners and kindness in general isn't a thing here. Not saying everyone isn't probably a good person at heart and means well. Just optically, it looks really bad- like you judged me and didn't want me there. I truly felt uncomfortable the whole time and I don't recommend unless you fit the type of person they're used to, evidentially. And I'm 6'4 and white! Maybe just take a look at how you treat strangers that are nothing but polite and kind. Food was really good and fast though to be fair. Oh, and then as I waited to pay, my waitress walks by and says "oh and you can't tip after paying with a card". Lmao. So I tipped $10 and said have a great day to which one of them replied "yep". Perfect.

I reserved asked if handicap accessible was told yes, ok having a ramp does NOT make it accessible. Check in tell them NEVER been here as i grew up in the area was back for reunion wanted to support local business this was a HUGE slap in my face for that. If you stay at "motel" you SHARE BATHROOM with everyone who checks in, docks there and all. Bathroom was stool, sink, shower 4 of them in total. 1 only toilet worked, 2nd one you open the door, and the port-a-potty smell blows you away,3rd go to take shower and it is full of mosquitoes, spiders and curtain half up from bottom FULL OF MOLD. Heck i could have just jumped in lake and got a better shower. When i return to my room on the 1st night the GATE to the dock was closed and locked?! WTH?!! Management NEVER told me about this how do i get to my room? No one answered phone, called security people as well no answer shook gate only had key to my room but there was no key slot for it to try. Went back to my truck very UPSET, PISSED OFF and MAD!!! Got to looking at keychain my room key was on and found a grey plastic circle thing, so gathered my things and headed back to the gate. 20+ minutes and still no return phone call, email or message from anyone with this establishment. I found a tan plastic plate cover with a red light in the middle i waved my hand nothing, tried the "grey plastic circle thing" and boom gate opened. WOW THANKS A LOT FOR TELLING ME ABOUT THIS!! I was so done with this place that if i could have dropped my key off and got my $$ back i would have that night. Lots of extras as well in fine print. NO REFUNDS, take out your own trash or get charged extra, take out your towels and wash clothes or get charged...so how the HECK is this a MOTEL?!! I have NEVER had to take out my laundry, trash or share a bathroom with anyone at a MOTEL!! In a boarding house why YES, that makes sense. They should tell you all of this on their website, but they don't or make it clear to you when you make reservations. Plus, they should make sure to tell you of how to open gate, that it will close at a certain time. Oh, and that there are only lights from docked boats to show you the way on the dock once you are past the gate. So, you are walking in dark on floating dock/ramp with little or no light and you are handicap well don't miss step or over you go into the lake hope you don't hit your head on anything on way over. Totally unsafe, hazardous, dirty and wouldn't even refer my worst enemy to stay here. ZERO, is the best rating i could give unless you can let me leave -*

Honestly, I won't be able to give a very detailed review because we only slept here for a couple hours and then left at 7 amin the morning! However, from my little experience from here, I did enjoy this stay to say the least. Hotel & Rooms (first impressions) - The hotel and room/bathroom were very clean, the bed was very comfortable. There was even a microwave inside the bedroom, which is usually not the case where I have stayed before. Even though I booked this hotel room at 8 pm before we got there at 1030 pm, I still got a decent rate of $140 for that night, which was ok because all the other ones in the area had a much higher rate going on. As soon as we entered the hotel, it was well lit and the staff at the front desk greeted us. I did feel the lady could've smiled a little more but she still got the work done so I do not have any complaints haha. I hope the hotel instructs the staff to smile a little when the guests arrive for checkin or checkouts. As soon as the front desk, staff finished checking us in, we were told about the breakfast (for $8 per person which we did not end up having),the snacks purchase area, pool and fitness center. Improvements - I had read some reviews before which said the bathroom is slippery and I did experience that after having a bath in the morning. I think for younger folks it should not be an issue, but yes, they should take into consideration some anti-skid coating or mats for the older folks or else it might be extremely dangerous for them. I did see some tapes on the shower floor but they were kind of worn out and didn't really help much. It was still very slippery. Also, I think for $140 a night they should be including breakfast with the room tariff because I heard that the breakfast is pretty basic with egg, sausages, cereal, toast, juices, tea, coffee, so pretty similar to all the other hotels have to offer. Overall, this experience was a good four out of five for me, and I am glad that I stopped at this hotel for a good nights rest.
