I brought my 1962 Conn 8d horn to Jahn for its yearly cleaning and adjustment on the advice of Sarah Willis who plays in the Berlin Philharmonic. On bringing it in, he said that cleaning it was a waste of time and that the valves needed to be repaired. Funny, because this horn plays great and the valves were re-machined only two years ago - I had no complaints, but I deferred and left it with him. Fast turnaround. Less than a full day and it was ready. The valves feel like a brand new horn. The action has never been this good. Completely floored. This isn't sunshine and pinwheels, the horn feels absolutely new. The valve action is incredible - fast, and so responsive. I'm in awe and could not recommend more.
