Mixed feelings for a conference center: terrible screening process going in, they hold everyone up in a huge line that delayed entry significantly with only 1 bag scanner for a conference of 6000, and do a half ass job looking. The conference halls themselves were quite nice with a fun modern design. For a science conference our posters were housed all over the venue since there wasn't enough room, many in a temporary plastic tent sitting in the sun which was unbearably hot and smelled terrible. Some smaller rooms were hard to find and access. People were generally nice but the staff they hired were on occasion very rude, one angrily told me off for not saying please to ask for coffee. The location was ok off the main tourist areas to avoid crowds, and there is some fun public art around the area. We had a great meeting and the AV systems seemed to work well! There was more food than any previous conference which was easy to access and spread all over the hall. read more
