If you are interested in a proper gym personal trainer this wouldn't be my first choice just make sure they have they proper personal trainer certification or group fitness trainer certification... - small change rooms with a low amount of locker space the place is huge but there's one washroom and for the men's -$$$ price is more for fighters/ adults MMA - gym is more for children Clothing they sell there is very low Quality but also very expensive ?? - BJJ belt system for white belts is non traditional ( gym has its own white belt strip system) blue strips rather then white - The Mats didn't seem very clean I use to always see people with nasty black feet after going on it - head BJJ trainer has a bad attitude and very fake, brought a couple friends and he push them very hard to sign up Guess how much each one on one sessions were with Joel when I asked???? $220 per hour holy not even a surgical doctor makes that much lol Owner seemed to have a good sense of how to market online because it's the first place to show up but definitely not my first place to go at all... I think he just payed to be there

I have trained in over 8 different gyms around the world (US, Canada, Brazil) and I have to say…read morethat Lin MMA is probably in my top 2. Probably top BJJ school on my list but not top MMA school. In my opinion, the BJJ here is top notch and the instructors are fantastic. They have a game plan scheduled out for the entire year and the drills and techniques are done so that you can learn and get a great understanding and grasp of the moves. Professor Lin is a black belt BJJ artist who is easy to get along with and holds the respect of the entire class. The instructors are top notch and champions. The decor of the gym is more BJJ oriented. There are 3 big areas for classes along with heavy bags along the edges for the Muay Thai/Kick Boxing classes. There is also a small gym with free weights. Everybody who trains here are extremely respectful of you and if you are a beginner, you won't get thrown to the wolves like some of the other gyms that I've trained at. As a beginner, you will get brought along slowly until you have enough understanding to defend yourself against more advanced guys. There are beginner and more advanced classes. The new guys to this sport will be placed in the beginner classes before graduating to the more advanced classes. They are open on Saturdays which is a great thing because I like to train as often as possible. If you do end up getting hurt, there is an incident report that they file for their records. I ended up tearing the meniscus in my right knee while rolling so that pretty much ended my training here because I was sent back to Brazil for work so am training in Brazil now. Price-wise, this is a little more expensive than what I usually pay (compared to US prices because in Brazil, I pay pretty much next to nothing). I was only signed up for 3 months because I was on vacation during this time and wanted to continue training but as a monthly fee, it was a little pricier than what I had wanted to pay. However, I definitely have to say that I got more out of training here than I ended up paying for so that is a plus! Now, I have trained at Rev MMA and I have to say that the BJJ at Lin MMA is significantly better. The guys at Rev are less respectful of you and will go all out on rookies. Also, Lin MMA is cheaper!! Rev MMA is associated with Carlos Newton which is probably why they say they can jack up the prices. I have only trained at these two gyms in Toronto but can say that Lin MMA is probably the best in Toronto. Thank you Professor Lin and all of the coaches. If I am ever back in town for an extended period, I will be coming back to continue training after my knee heals up.

We started here with just my son taking the initial lessons. But, after I saw how great Steve was with the kid's classes, I decided to join and I'm glad I did. Steve blends most every practical martial art out there into a complete system that encompasses ground fighting, "stand up" and weapons training. And the best thing is Steve is certified by the most recognized big name martial artists out there Like Dan Inosanto ( one of the most famous senior students of Bruce Lee). That's what I was first reminded of when I first signed up my son here. Master Kang and his instructors motivated the kids and cared about making them better. Shortly thereafter, my older son (who initially swore he had no interest in martial arts because they make you do push ups and doing the same thing over and over again was hard and annoying) asked to join his brother for classes. Being heavier set and having quit multiple other martial arts training before, we didn't expect him to last more than a month but we proceeded. In a couple of months, not only was he still taking classes with his brother but he is even more engaged to do so. His kick height has doubled where it was before, his confidence has increased, he's more respectful and he's pushing himself harder and I credit the instructors and Masters for this. Seeing both my kids' improvements, my husband and I decided to sign up and learn with our children and unlike what we initially feared, we feel quite at home and Master Kang gave us the opportunity to take part in something important to our kids which became important to us too. We now all challenge and encourage each other to do better and I can't say any other martial arts gym have ever had our entire family as engaged as Master Kang's! Try it for yourself!!
