Activate was such a fun and entertaining experience! Every room offered something different, and I loved that there were multiple levels and game options that made it enjoyable for a wide range of ages and skill levels. Our group ranged from 8 to 28 years old and everyone had a great time staying active, laughing, and challenging ourselves. It's definitely one of those places where you don't even realize how much of a workout you're getting because you're having so much fun. The only thing I wish was a bit better is the cooling situation outside of the room! After working up a sweat, some extra AC or fans would have been really nice for a quick cooldown. I arrived round 2pm on a Thursday with my sons. It was our first time here as we were visiting from out of state. It was $100 for the 3 of us for 75 mins of play. I reserved tickets online. We were about 10 mins due to getting on the wrong train. I called to let them know and change my time but was told as long as you arrived within 20 minutes of scheduled time, you're good to go. Honesty, it was a fun time. We got hot and tired fast, especially with some of the games. They have free lockers to put Some of the games are very active with running around. Comfortable shoes and clothes you can move around in, is a must! I like how each of the rooms have several games to choose from, some are collaborate and some are competitive. 75 minutes was not enough time. This is something a family could do for 2 hours or so as time flies quickly. A feature I like is that is no one is waiting to go in the room you're in, you can continue playing. I've already been here three times and every time it's great. I'll never get tired of it. It's amazing for everyone. I've taken my nephews, I've taken my husband, I've been with my whole family. No matter the party size or who you're with, it's hard NOT to have fun. I also love that it's really for teamwork, not competition. You can make it competitive, but it's SO fun with the little ones to hype them up and worth together. I literally love every room, I can't pick a favorite, I could spend hours here. Be prepared to sweat and run! There are a lot of ACTIVE games and will keep your heart rate up. I wish there were some added fans in there, but you'd be moving so fast that I don't think you'll stay cool for long. It's hard to keep your phone or water on you because of how much you will be moving, so I would just keep your stuff in your locker. There are water fountains near the bathroom in the back, so you just need some tennis shoes and some airy clothes. I have been at slower times and at busier times. If it's busy, then you get kicked out of your game room, but it's easy to start up a new game. It does suck to get interrupted when you get the hang of the games, but it is what it is. It's perfect for groups, families or even for a more physical-based date. We saw groups ranging from 2-8 people. They have party room that looked like it would be great to host a birthday for teenagers. The facility is clean, modern, and well-organized, and the staff were all super friendly and helpful in explaining how it all worked when we really didn't know what we were walking into. They monitor the number of people that can be in at any time, so make reservations. The way their process works keeps you from having to wait long for any game. The most we waited was for one group to finish the game in front of us. Each game Runs about 2-4 mins so you aren't waiting long at all and get to experience a lot of things. Activate just opened in Brentwood. We visited opening weekend and again the following weekend. Here are my tips and my opinions: There are 8 different game rooms each offering a variety of games & skill levels. Each round lasts 1-3 minutes. Each games tests something different: speed, problem-solving, or agility! 2-5 players can play each game at the same time. If you have a larger group, you can take turns. The place is high tech! When you sign in, you'll make a profile with fun name and will be given a wristband. You'll use the wristband to to access the control terminal for each game room. It also keeps track of your points for your prize at the end of your gaming session. Once you finish a room, choose another, and another, and another. Go back and try the same rooms again on competitive mode vs. collaborative mode. Highlights: The LASER room was our group's favorite! There are 2 options: duck & dodge moving laser beams like you're in a spy movie OR use the laser blasters to take out colorful targets. Honestly, I've never felt older when crawling on the floor to get past the lasers. My poor knees! MEGA GRID will keep your heart rate elevated running around the room, avoiding red blocks, stomping on colorful blocks & smashing buttons on the wall. This is the super colorful game with the light up floor you might have seen on ads. It really is the best one! Our first visit, the place was packed and we did have to wait a few minutes to access the rooms we wanted. Never a long wait, but we still had some down time. Activate Saint Louis is an interactive test your skills gaming facility. There were about 10 different game rooms that you can go into, you jump, climb, lazer, trivia and so much more. They were offering free bookings for the whole weekend so I decided to see what it was about, this place is for all ages both young and old and those games gave me a good workout I worked up a sweat for sure. The price for a 75 minute visit is 24.99 during the week and on the weekends is 29.99 to me that's a decent deal. It's something new to area and I'll say if you want a fun outing with the kids, friends,your spouse, significant other or whomever dont hesitate to give this place a try. read more

This is a venue for the younger crowd. PROS: It's basically a digitized arcade. You register and get an electronic wristband. The wristband keeps track of your scores and your ranking appears on a big board in the main area of the center. The games are in separate rooms behind closed doors. Party Room available to rent. It's BYOF and BYO non alcoholic beverages. The room is nice but not very large. This is probably a true gamers delight! Everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves going from room to room playing the games. CONS: It's way too dark in the place for people over 50. I was afraid 75 minutes wouldn't be enough time, but we were sweating by the end & had to stop for a drink half way through (there's a drinking fountain). The staff was incredibly kind and helpful & we only had 1 game that we either didn't understand or didn't work. We each had a favorite! My husband enjoyed the Asteroid game in "Strike." I liked "Jigsaw" in the Mega Grid. Our 11 yo loved "Simon Says" in Hoops & our 8yo loved "Wormholes" in Portals. We're already planning our return trip. my group of six went on a sunday night and it was a little busy at first but died down while we were there. this place is exactly what the website says it is. it's a test of physical and mental strength. even as a college athlete, i found myself tired after rooms like the mega grid, grid, control, and hide and seek. unfortunately, we didn't know the rooms were mainly 3 to 5 people. there were some with two, but they were full at most times it was a little upsetting to not be able to do stuff with our whole group and it was a bunch of couples so it was a little hard to split up. so keep this in mind. i would say 4 people is the sweet spot. the staff was really nice and walking around in case you had any questions or anything. tips one thing to note is that you're paying for time so if you go to the bathroom or take a break, you aren't losing out on game time which is a little pricey. our slot was 8-9. make sure you come at least 10 minutes early to get checked in there's a few different forms to fill out. the second your time slot starts that's when your game time starts ticking. i would recommend is wearing shorts and short sleeves because in these tight spaces, it gets hot. they do have lockers for you to keep your belongings in. I would recommend not taking any items inside just because the rooms are so dark and it's so active so it would be easy to lose something and all the rooms look the same so it'd be also hard to find. read more

They also have instructions that you can read before entering the room. Quickly enter each room because the games start pretty quickly after entry. Each room holds five so if your group is larger you can mix or split. 75 minutes of game play and the clock starts when you begin your first game. $29.99 plus tax on weekends and holidays.$24.99 on weekdays...I think $5 less would be perfect and a price point that would attract visitors more often. I wanted to like this place- and I'm still willing to change my mind if somehow they can make this right. Me and three friends had checked their availability online, and there was room for us. In order to reserve the spot online I would have had to pay for everyone's spot, which I did not want to do, so we chose to just walk in. When we got there 10 minutes after reviewing the website, they said they couldn't get us in until 2 hours later. I took the loss and left, but when I got back to the car, I checked their website, and they still had slots open. I'm failing to understand why I was turned away. It kind of seems like they just didn't want to deal with it. I've been here once before successfully but I don't appreciate being treated this way when the Internet is an available resource to me and I can easily fact check information. We went to an escape room instead and had a great time. Check in was simple when you arrive, and staff was friendly with a smile. They provide a secure locker which is nice since we all had coats, phones, etc. you get a watch/wristband to enter games and one for your locker. Each room has variations of the game for that room. I.e. laser room has different level of laser mazes you try to avoid; hide room has multiple games to play in there and so on. There were about 13 rooms total, and you go any order you want, from room to room at your leisure. We went on a Saturday, early afternoon, and it was packed!!! Your time starts after your first tap to enter a room, so when you are waiting for a room to open it is frustrating for the person waiting and when you are the group playing you only get one chance to do the room and then you have to exit that room. For the price paid, there were way too many people there. We had to wait at almost every room and our last 30 min we only got to be in a room one time before we had to wait again. They were letting way too many people in at a time. It is a very fun place for all skill level and ages. There are benches to sit on and water fountains as well. Bathrooms were very clean with air fresheners so it doesn't smell sweaty because you will break a sweat here :) When we have out of town guests again we will propose this as an option, but I would be picky about our times so it would be more enjoyable and we would feel like we got out moneys worth. read more

My husband and I came to Activate for a date activity and we had a blast! When we walked in, we were greeted by the reception staff. We checked in, got our wristbands and waited for a team member to give us the run down. He walked us through how to use the wristbands, how to use each screen outside of the activity doors and safety measures while we're there. They have several rooms you can do different activities some physical in nature, some competitive and some where you have to work together. It was kids everywhere but I think as adults we had just as much of a good time as they did since we were running around just like them. There are team members everywhere and they were very helpful if you had questions about any of the activities. My boyfriend and I decided to come here for our Valentine's Day trip. I called twice, once to ask a question and another to ask to push our time back. Each time, the staff was extremely kind. We had a blast playing the games and all the staff were super nice. I definitely think it's worth the money and it's a great bonding and active thing to do! We had no idea that there were so many games you could play and that the waiting time for the games wasn't very long since they only last 2 minutes (you get 1hr 15mins to play that games).
