ordered an item from them and paid more in shipping than for the actual products. 12 days later I had to reach out to see what the status was as I hadn't heard from them. it was then that they told me the item was out of stock and gave me another option that my daughter wouldn't have liked. had to cancel the order. too bad they couldn't just tell me immediately it was out of stock so I could have ordered from somewhere else in time for her actual birthday. never ordering from here again. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS I have purchased items from Active baby on 2 separate occasions for different items. Both times they have not been fulfilled and it took them over a week to call to advise of the bad news. I gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time but shame on me for falling for it twice. They admitted their inventory system has discrepancies with their website but my purchases were bought 4 months apart and they still have not resolved the same issue which is Unacceptable. I would avoid Active Baby as you can potentially miss out on sales from other stores (especially during big sales like Black Friday / Boxing day) while waiting for shipments that never arrive and you're left empty handed. Been here a couple times now since I live close by, most recently for the warehouse sale. Honestly beautiful setup and everything but just to boutique like for my taste. The warehouse sale was alright but I didn't really find any savings since my total was $90. I did not read the poster properly so I did not realize that I was not going to get one of the gift bags after spending over $50 so that was disappointing. The sales people make you feel like an idiot for not knowing things, I went a week early thinking the sale was on and it wasn't. The salesgirl made me just feel dumb. I would go for a last minute desperate sort of situation but other then that my days of shopping here are done. Customer service is my biggest thing and I have not had anything warrant me coming back on a regular basis. I'd say if you enjoy baby boutique like stores then yes the store and sale is for you. But in my case my lesson has been learnt. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Ask for Emily! My boyfriend and I planned on just popping in quickly for a price check on a stroller and car seat as we drove by the area. We had been to multiple stores (other baby franchises) shopping around and felt more frustrated/overwhelmed/left with more questions than answers. We decided to check out Active Baby for a quick price check and as soon as we walked in Emily greeted us and led us toward the strollers and car seats. Right off the bat she was informative and so well educated on the products! Gave us a detailed tutorial on the Uppa baby stroller and car seat we were interested in and we found the price to be amazing! the 2020 version was better priced than a 2019 on sale at another franchise and we were instantly sold. Emily was so helpful and informative we bought the stroller and car seat that day! read more

Active Baby has 3 locations. I ordered something from their online store to be picked up in their West Broadway location. I called their North Vancouver store to ask about delivery date and they said the stock was sitting in their Langley store, and the owner would be delivering it to West Broadway the next day. 2 days later, I still didn't get an update as to when I was able to pick-up. I called the Langley store and the person on the phone said she had to call me back as she wasn't sure what happened to the order. 10 minutes later, she calls me back and said I should be able to get it in a day or two at West Broadway. Another 5 minutes passes and I get another phone call; I was told that "the delivery person" (I assume the owner) won't be delivering the item for another 5-10 business days. My only option if I want it right away, was to drive an hour to the Langley location to get it. I've bought from their stores before but it looks like these guys need to up their game with their online sales and delivery or just focus on their offline retail business. read more

Very diligent on CoVid regulations but no so diligent when it comes to telling you what products are no longer covered by their returns policy. It's more of a buyer beware approach meaning that if you buy a gift and it falls under their unstated exceptions to the rule ask before you buy, They do not accept returns on merchandise normally covered by their returns policy and do not tell you that before you pay. In this store the manager has clearly not briefed her staff which puts them on the spot. Recommend management communication training. Gréât products; many locally sourced. read more

Active Baby has been the place to source all my baby gear on the North Shore since my little one was born a year and a few months ago. The staff was very nice and helpful at answering the millions of questions I had as a new mother. It can be so overwhelming with all the options all there. I really feel like July was able to give me her personal recommendations and guide me towards items that would work for me and my lifestyle. I've sent many moms to that store, and each of them was very happy with the big selection of items, and how kind the staff was. I love encouraging local stores, and even more when it's a mother of 3 kids who is the owner! read more

Went to Active Baby for their grand opening on Lonsdale. We were testing out strollers again altho we had narrowed it down to two. Our #2 choice was on display but not our #1 choice so I asked the rep. She was extremely helpful and went to a man (I believe it was the owner) to confirm they did not carry it. The man asked why I decided on that model and went on to tell me how terrible it is even though he had never seen or tested it out himself! I purchased my stroller elsewhere and have no regrets. This was terrible service provided by the owner. We purchased a baby gate there and were told that we could return the item as long as it was still in the package. We were concerned as the salesperson did not know if the gate would fit our house. It did not fit in our home and when I tried to return the item (unopened, sealed in the box) the owner would not take it back because it had been more than 14 days (20 days). I asked that he make an exception as the item was sealed and easily able to be re-stocked, but he said he could not change the rules (even though he owned the store). This was shockingly bad service and a very poor experience all around. I will never shop there and would recommend that no prospective or existing parents on the North Shore shop there either. I am extremely frustrated with this store. Paid in advance for an $840 stroller on early December. Was told they didn't know if they could get colour we wanted and if not would refund my money. They wd let me know in a few days. A week or more went by, hadn't heard so I called them. They still did not know wd contact stroller co. & let me know. They didn't call me. I called them about week or so later and was told yes stroller was coming, here in about a week or so & they wd call me when in. They didn't call me so I called them 2 days ago. Nobody answered the phone so I left a clear message asking what the situation was, giving my name & numer. Two full days have gone by, they still have not called me. I've been v busy with other necessary things, my daughter in law is getting concerned about her stroller for new baby. I'm beginning to wonder if they have gone out of business. I feel like they were happy to take my $850 UP FRONT and 6-7 weeks later, no stroller, don't answer the phone and haven't returned my call. Not impressed at all. Would not recommend. read more

This store has consistently carried things that other baby stores don't have. I once literally called every store in the lower mainland for an item and only Active Baby carried it, and was kind enough to hold the last one in stock for me until I could go grab it the next day.
