Beautiful messages every week. Bible based. Friendly church but not overwhelmingly so. The Pastor? Godly, brilliant, well spoken and just plain normal, but warm, and extremely approachable. An ordinary man who lives, encourages & inspires extraordinary Christlike behavior by living it. All this in simply 5 weeks of Sunday services. A church everyone needs to try.... Active Church on Bryant Street in Yucaipa California their had their annual car show tonite and was a terrific community and family event! Active Church is a terrific ministry teaching God's Word! I really wanted to love this church as everyone was so welcoming since my husband and I were new to the area. The first thing that made me feel off is that when the pastor asked everyone to open up their bibles to such and such place... all you heard was quiet. I looked around and saw maybe one or two people each time open up the word. But then realized it's no surprise since pastor doesn't use a bible either and usually the church is led by example. The other thing I noticed is that, sure, maybe you don't need a bible if the scripture is going to be displayed up on the giant screen (curious what Jesus would think of these times we live in lol) but when the words that are continuously displayed are 98% quoting the pastor and only a few from the word of God, that just seems kind of strange considering it's not like we are following line by line with a fill in the blank hand out. I admired the worship and was thankful for the gift bag with the coffee cup printed with your big logo. Kind of funny advertising your church for newcomers... but not even a verse printed in sight. I know your message is "YOU have a story to tell. YOU can change then world, etc etc" but Jesus has a story to tell. We are to tell his story. Do his works. And after every word I heard at each service it seemed to fluff us all up about how great we are, which I'm not denying. But to not follow up with acknowledging the Lord and his hand on us and in our lives seemed very Joel osteen to me. I feel weird even reviewing a church but the final reason that brought me to it is the pastor ended the last service with saying he didn't recommend and would never suggest such a thing... to change scripture. But he did anyway. In the big words on the screen with the chapter and verse there too.. but with his own interpreted words. Nice place, but a "feel good" church. And if you can't leave the house of the Lord feeling convicted as heck, then something must be amiss. We aren't perfect and we are in need of a savior desperately. For this life and to get into the next. And honestly I left Active feeling like God was a magic genie and I'm awesome as is. read more

Just moved into town and was looking for a new church home. The minute I stepped onto the Active campus, people were so nice to me. The hospitality team is awesome. They showed me around and made me feel welcome. I've been going for a few months and have made some amazing friends and deepened in my relationship with God. I've been going to this church since 2009. Got married here. Tithe here. For the first time in my life i find myself in a serious situation and ask for help and am greeted by a kid who says they dont help people and that he likes my glasses. Ive been going to the wrong church all this time. Jesus would roll over in His grave if He hadnt gotten up and walked out of it. Which is what I think he did at Active too when Pastor Don retired. What a pathetic demonstration of Christianity I just experienced. I'm embarrassed for everyone that comes to this place now. Im embarrassed that I have ever cone here and got married here. Active Church. Active at fluffing themselves and making themselves feel like they are anything other than completely dead. read more

Sad what this church has become. Xmas eve service was more like a poorly performed pop concert with adult members singing Santa clause songs while in club attire, too many videos, and an overall cheap experience. I was embarrassed bringing my family here for what I thought would be a peaceful, meaningful worship experience. This church needs a revised direction and focus. read more

We recently moved to Yucaipa and had to leave a church that we loved. We visited a few great churches in the area but didn't feel connected. Upon entering Active, we knew it was "home". I cannot say enough about Pastor Mike; he truly cares about his congregation and has graciously helped us navigate some pretty difficult waters. The music is phenomenal, the children's programs are fantastic, and the small groups are genuine. There are some amazing leaders and wonderful people here. My mom recently started her journey getting to know Christ with us at Active. It does not matter where you are at in your life, whether you believe or not, you are accepted here and encouraged to explore your faith. read more
