What a horrible experience .. I placed an order 8/2 to have four lab jackets to be embroidered ..before the owner took the order he had me pay for it which I thought was odd ! three day later I received an email for the approval which I promptly responded to .. Now it's 8/21 I called the place to check on order there receptionist told me yes we emailed you that order is ready on 8/10 I proceed to say I never received an email ! What email you have on file ? all their screen printing cracked within 1-2 uses. The ink was was to thick. Even with proper washing procedures shirts looked horrible after 1-2 uses. On top of that, they were not cheap. Very expensive. read more

Horrible customer service. I placed an order for a birthday party. A guy gave me a quote over the phone. He constantly put me on hold during the conversation. He said to send him an email detail the size, quantity, and the writing. I emailed him with all that information and ask what's the total amount. Next day afternoon, I didn't hear back from him for my quote, I contacted another vendor who immediately responded to my request. Needless to say, I went with another vendor. As a courtesy, I emailed ACU back said since I didn't get my quote in writing, I will go with another vendor. That did not sit well with ACU. The same guy called me immediately and screamed at me over the phone. He said he runs a professional business. It is my job to follow up with him because he is busy and he already quoted the price the day before. SO, let me get this straight...I am the customer but I should follow up with him??? Of course I want the quote in writing. Why was he enraged about that? His rant went on for over 5 min and put me on hold in between. He yelled at me and asked why I changed the quantity. I was really in shocked that I was treated so poorly...over the phone. DO NOT go there. Website promises 24hrs but god forbid you're on a deadline - you have to chase them for proof, for order completion and if picking up after hours or weekend...good luck. If order is messed up in anyway good luck. The ladies there are mostly pleasant hearted but when you deal with Art, the boss...he'll blame you very quickly. Very disappointed in ACU Plus. Our company has provided them with so much business and they have let us down again and again. My co-workers and I walk in and are completely ignored, nobody offers assistance. When one of the employees finally steps up to help, they are very rude, unwilling, and unaccommodating. They told us the work we wanted done was impossible, but we took it to another embroiderer and there was no issue. I should really say there was only one extremely rude man here that I assume manages this place. My "go to" place for all my monogramming needs: pillowcases, towels, etc. Even though they seem to specialize in corporate or large orders, they will happily to do one or two small items. A monogram on an inexpensive Marshalls/TJ Maxx towel is just the perfect little housewarming or college bound teen gift. Love this place! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! So, the first time I ever ordered through them for my dance studio, they were so fast and responsive and on top of everything. THAT WAS CLEARLY AN ACT. Figured I would now order tank tops through them because of how wonderful they were....well...after being told on the phone that the tanks were on their way from California and would be shipped out by the end of the week, i called to follow up on that since it was suspicious that I never got an invoice, NOTHING WAS EVER ORDERED TO BEGIN WITH. I need these tanks in exactly one week from now and these workers did SHIT. I am beyond livid by the incompetency and miscommunication. Do not make promises to customers that you cant make. A disaster from start to finish ending in an unusable product. The owner won't return phone calls, emails. He promised us our product would turn out great, gave us his word. He reneged on our deadline. So we had to drive out to the facility to pick up our shirts. Waited, and waited past when they were supposed to be done. Got the shirts back and they were not to our specifications, which we had emailed. On top of that a good percentage of the shirts had smudged ink. We sent the owner pictures of the product, proving it was unusable. Never heard anything. Called and called and finally put on hold. The owner went back and forth about a refund...said he wanted to see the shirts first...after we sent him 10 pictures showing the shirts were not to spec. Don't use this company. read more

Let me tell you about my first and what will be my last experience with ACU PLUS Screen Printing on Hempstead. I called and spoke to a lovely lady and told her I was looking for someone to embroider three words on a pair of Christmas socks. She put me on hold to ask for a price and told me it would be $25 but that I would have to bring them in by 5pm that day to get them done by the date I needed them. I used some vacation time and rushed over from my job in Queens to Levittown and when I got there a nice lady took the socks over to an older gentleman who informed me that it is $25 is for ONE SOCK and it would be $50 for both but they can do both for $30!?! Number one, it is extremely unprofessional to state one price on the phone then another price in person after I've spent over an hour getting to your location. Had you told me that incredibly outrageous price on the phone I wouldn't have wasted vacation time to leave work early for nothing. Number two, why would anyone want to embroider just one sock since they come in pairs? Changing your prices after you meet a customer is both unprofessional and a shady business process. The lady was very apologetic and nice about it. I ended up leaving without argument because I didn't get the sense the older gentleman cared at all about losing a potential customer. read more

Went there this week for a quote. The first thing the older gentleman does is cut me off mid sentence and say in a whisper " I have the best prices and I guarantee you'd be making a mistake going elsewhere" that was a huge turn off for me. Some people are willing to pay more for a better product and aren't necessarily looking for the lowest price. Secondly, I was there for over an hour. The older gentleman who I assume is the owner micro manages EVERYTHING ! Every two seconds he would stop our consultation and go on to something else. You can tell that the wonderful women that work there can't stand the fact that he has to be involved in everything. There are literally 5-7 girls working there yet while I was there looking to order several hundred shirts, he found it necessary to answer every single phone call, check emails, even yell across the room to certain ladies " what are you doing over there" and forget about being organized.. 10 times he must have asked me what price he gave me on something from 2 minutes earlier. Every time he said the price it was different. He didn't take any notes what I was looking for, my name , my phone number.. nothing..when I asked if it was possible to get a sample of a certain shirt so I can see the color and material he actually had the nerve to tell me I would have to pay the shipping because his profits are so low.. you mean to tell me that the vendors won't send you a sample then accept it back without charging you!? This isn't my first rodeo. I've been in business 40 years and have ordered THOUSANDS of shirts, hats, sweatshirts and jackets. I much rather spend more and have someone give me a little attention and at least show they care by taking notes.. you've been warned.. maybe he should open his eyes and see he lost out on several thousands of dollars per year.. learn to delegate and trust your workers so people don't have to wait an hour.. it'll also allow you to RUN your business and not have to worry about what color Susan wants. I called ahead to get a price to personalize a newborn baby cap and was told five dollars to put on the name. When I brought the caps to be embroidered, the old guy freaked out saying he had to charge fifteen dollars.....for a two dollar, tiny baby cap! I was very happy to find Acu Plus. Arthur gave us an excellent price, the artist was awesome, I loved working with Susan, and they ship!. They provide awesome virtual representations of the shirt in your t-shirt and artwork colors. This should really be a 4.7 rating...the deduction is because we had to change our color late in the game due to a lack of availability in youth sizes...make sure you check this out in the beginning when choosing a color. The company is a joke! You email them several times no reply. You call them several times no reply. Once they answer there phone, they put you on hold for 10-15 mins. They say there prices are good and no extra artwork charges. Let me tell you thats a load of crap! A gildan shirt that is priced on there site for $3 they go and tell me its $22 dollars for my artwork on the shirt. One word printed on both sides comes out to be $19 dollars extra; that makes no sense they charge your for the artwork a screen fees applied to the cost into the shirt. Also don't place an order with them unless your sure you want to be robbed; because if your not sure they charge you a restocking fee even though they don't order the shirts and the artwork which is done on the computer and has no cost to them. Ill be the first to say half there shirts are over priced I'm a licensed wholesale company, who has access to the manufacturers prices. They're profiting 400% over their actual price in cost of goods and labor. One word for this company and the owner THIEVES!! read more
