After several days of continuous close-spaced and forceful hiccups, during which I could barely…read moresleep or eat, and after seeking traditional medical help from the hospital emergency department, I booked an appointment with Andrea for acupuncture treatment. By the day of my appointment, I had been hiccuping for 7 days straight. I was mentally and physically exhausted. The meds that had been prescribed by the hospital doctor did not provide any relief. Andrea Murphy to the rescue! I had no prior experience with acupuncture, this was my first time. I was open minded but honestly also slightly skeptical. But nothing else was working, and my girlfriend was urging me to try this. Within minutes of Andrea placing the needles, my hiccups ceased! Within moments of that, in the tranquility of the treatment room, I dozed off. I woke up a bit later, to learn that Andrea let me sleep for about an hour, while my girlfriend sat in the room watching over me. I needed the rest, clearly! Shortly after awakening, after some discussion, Andrea removed the needles, and placed a few special needles that I would be able to leave in place when going home. My hiccups began again when the needles were removed, but they were spaced apart more than they had been, and they were weaker, not as intense. I stayed optimistic. I departed her office just before noon. By 6PM THE HICCUPS COMPLETELY CEASED! I was delighted, and immediately laid down to sleep, to get all the rest possible in case the hiccups returned. I slept for hours, woke up, ate some food, and STILL NO HICCUPS! I went back to bed and got the first full night of sleep in over a week! I kept fearing that the hiccups would return, but they never did! Now, I am a true believer, and I give my STRONGEST POSSIBLE RECOMMENDATION to Andrea Murphy! She has amazing skills, knowledge, and experience, and above all she has true passion for her vocation and showed thorough care and compassion for me as a person and as a patient. I will absolutely seek treatment by Andrea for my future needs - hopefully never for hiccups again! If you are on the fence at all - don't be!
