If you've never been to an Osteopath, it's a form of natural medicine that combines moving, stretching and massaging of your joints and muscles. I have a lot of chronic pain and suffer from migraines, and I'm always up for trying something to help that isn't traditional medication (i.e. more pills). A friend of mine sees Maria, and swears that she has changed her life, so I thought I'd give it a try. Maria is one of the most wonderful people you will ever meet. Her warmth and kindness is evident from the minute you walk into her office (which is located in a beautiful old house just across from Bridgehead on Wellington and Holland), and her calm and soft spoken nature is relaxing and really helped me feel comfortable. Her huge amount of knowledge is clear in her speech, but also evident in the several certificates and degrees on her wall. I went for an initial consultation which was about an hour and fifteen minutes and cost about $120. Maria took the time to do a complete exam and immediately identified problems with my neck (and a bunch of other things!) and asked me a ton of questions about my overall health. She also recommended a specific naturopath to deal with my chronic pain, and gave me a audio recording to help with sleep. She detailed a treatment plan for me, and I'm really excited to start! I already felt better after the one visit, and I think this is absolutely something anyone with pain issue should check out.
