I absolutely love this tea shop. They have so many wonderful teas to pick from, hot and cold brews, fruit, green, matcha, ...the options are endless. The staff is beyond accomodating and helpful. I love that you can sample a tea before you buy it. I cannot even begin to say what a wonderful option that is. The 1st time I went I only sampled one and bought 5. 2 of those I didn't like. I bought my 3 favorites the 2nd time, sampled 3 more...LOVED them and bought those. I have a steady dozen I constantly buy because they were so accomodating and allowed me to try them. They also sell local honey in the shop. I have recommended this tea shop to many of my friends, though we live 45 min. away, we all travel just for the wonderful treatment and teas. Today had tea tasting ceremony in Naperville location. Drue performed excellent! Tea is my passion and I read many info about it, but still many questions was asked and all of them was answered. My daughter and I signed up for the tea tasting and had a wonderful range of experiences! First, the store is bright, clean and organized. The selection of teas is outstanding and a sample of each is displayed. Yay! Second, the tasting "class" was super informative and not rushed. The individual place settings were welcoming. Drue was very knowledgeable and personable. Questions were encouraged. The tea flavors came from different groups so you could taste new ones. Third, tea accessories were demonstrated and used during the tasting itself. That was fun! The machine that heats water to the proper temp. and drops the tea leaves down to steep, then rises back up when finished is AWESOME. We, of course, purchased teas we liked and some new ones. Came upon Adagio yesterday and so glad I did. I love tea and am always looking for different kinds along with the cute cups, tins, etc. This place has it all. My wife and I received a gift certifiate from our daughter for a 'tea tsasting' and this Saturday we used it. What a totally pleasant experience with a very knowledgeable hostess ( Etienne) - where we learned a lot more than you'd think about teas and herbals and enjoyed the tasting very much. Great accidental find! THIS is why I heart downtown Naperville.Staff here couldn't be more helpful or friendly. They will brew you fresh samples of any tea you want to try, but there are also glass jars of each so you can see what it looks and smells like. Unlike Teavana, you don't have to ask for a waft~ reasonable prices and HUGE variety for both to-go cups and take home leaves. read more

She knew alot about different teas and it was educationalShe made some greent matcha tea to sample and explained why it is in powder form unlike the other teas. We were visiting from California and stopped by this wonderful tea spot. The staff was so helpful and made freshly brewed samples for us. Everyone was so nice and the sweet lady who was working even offered my 9 year old son a sample. I purchased tea to take home and it is amazing! I took my daughters to a tea tasting at Adagio, and we learned so much! The staff was very informative, and they were able to provide a great experience for me and for the kids. They phrased their lesson in a way that the girls could understand while giving them a lot of history and an education about how tea is produced. We all found some tea flavors we loved, and the prices are pretty reasonable. Definitely worth visiting. read more

Like others here, I loved Adagio through their website. Their teas are good quality and of a HUGE variety, so there is always something new to try. Their points system is excellent as well, one point for every dollar you spend and 100 points gets you a discount. When I found out I had moved within 50 miles of their first retail store, I was ecstatic! While their site had great descriptions and reviews of their tea, there is nothing like being able to smell the teas in order to determine if it will be a type you like. We were the only ones in the store at the time, so all was quiet and relaxed. The one attendant in the store told us the store had been busy over the weekend, so a few things were out of stock, but that's to be expected of any store after a busy weekend. When we finally made our selections, the employee said there was a sale that weekend, 5 bags for the price of 4, and tried entering it into the system to see if the promotion had been pushed out. To our delight, it had not, so she gave us plenty of time to pick out two more. We will be stopping by Adagio in Naperville a LOT in the future! read more

She answered all our questions, offered to make us samples of anything we wanted to try and was overall very helpful. Stopped in yesterday afternoon while in Naperville. This is such a cute place i am a tea virgin and was looking for help on to teas, tea kettles and such! The staff was very knowledgeable, helpful and so cheerful! LOL who would of thought that different teas need to be brewed at different temps.. I didn't know! Lisa was so kind when she told us about the rewards program she gave us 50 extra points because we were nice.. lol love the customer service like this. I was really excited that a tea house was opening in Naperville as I'm always looking for a good, close tea house. Unfortunately, the quality of the tea, the prices and the experience of the staff are very lacking. I did try- really I did!- but out of 6 different teas, and tea variations, I didn't like any of them. Neither did my boyfriend. We both drink tea daily and we have a wide range of tea that we like. But neither he nor myself enjoyed any of the tea. They are also a tad overpriced, especially when you take into account that the quality of the tea is poor and you have to 'do it yourself.' The staff was also not as educated in tea as other places I've been to. I suggest if you want great quality, service, knowledge AND prices you drive the distance to go to Serene Teaz in Wheaton (or Elmhurst). By far the very best in the suburbs! I drive from the far west burbs to go to Serene Teaz and it is ALWAYS worth it. read more

I was VERY disappointed with people work there. I was there browsing around for at least 10 mins. No welcome or "can I help you?" I kept walking through the whole store and even watched some demo of making matcha tea. This lady did not offer me no sample or ask me if I wanted some. Instead, she walked all the way to the other side of store to offer the tea to someone else. Other customer who was standing a few feet from me looked at me and said "you should have said something..." This lady asked everyone else but me. How rude! I kept looking around to see if any of your workers there would say something or ask me if I have any questions or I have been helped. I even tried their sample tea too. Nobody paid no attention to me while everybody else is greeted and helped. One lady even started washing a pot. Many of my friends said they always get a good service and sometime too much of service to the point that hovering them whole time. Well... I had a totally opposite experience. I saw a few things that I wanted to buy. But I felt so unwelcome and disrespected, I just did not want to spend my money there. I LOVE teas...all kinds of teas. I am SO disappointed with their service. read more

What can I say, this place is awesome! My coworker let me try some "cool" tea as I was sick and I immediately fell in love with it. I was then surprised to find that the Naperville store is close to where I live. I stopped by that evening and I guess the first thing I was struck with was the incredibly delightful staff that worked there. I was warmly greeted and offered tasting on any tea that I wanted. I told them I was a newbie and she took me under her wings showing me everything, teaching me how to brew the tea, how to pick the tea, the different types of tea, and more. I felt incredibly special! Trying to find that kind of service in itself is near to impossible. I know I'll be back if nothing more than to say hello to all my new "friends" at the store. For those of you that have yet to discover "real" tea (and to think that I have been drinking Lipton all my life) run, don't walk, but run to this store. Ask for Lisa and I am sure she will give you a special treat. :-) read more

MUCH better this time along. The difference a few months makes. I went into this location and even thought both associates were with customers, one of them welcomed me as soon as they could. Once the finished with their other customers, they asked if I needed help. At first, I said no. But as one question was asked, an answer came immediately. The nice part was that it wasn't a hard sell. I'm no expert on teas but the selection was good. it seemed like the staff of recent is much more interactive this time around.
