In Denmark, the stores for large women like me tend to think that we want to wear frills and large flowers which I definitely DON'T, so I love my stuff from Bonmarché. Will actually be going to Reading in a few days, and can't wait to visit Bonmarché there! This store and its section in Debenhams are both excellent. The prices may be on the higher side…read more(sometimes £60 for an evening wear top), but the materials are high quality and last for a long time, so you do get what you pay for. The designs, cut and colours of the clothes are always unique but accessible, so you feel like you're wearing something high-fashion in that it's different from other stores, but without such a ridiculous price tag. The shoes and accessories aren't bad either, but the absolute best thing to go shopping there for are the underwear and socks - they often have really cute designs on them (pandas, cartoon policemen etc) and always have offers if you buy in bulk (3 for £7 etc). The staff are aways really helpful - my Dad said he had printed off a 30-page (heh heh) wishlist of clothes from their website that I wanted for Christmas, and one of the sales assistants gladly took him round the shop and helped him find whatever they had in stock - and this was on Christmas Eve!
