I rarely write reviews but people need to be warned. I recently took a 925 silver chain in along with some others curious about what I'd be offered. The chain weighed 95g which was over $250 scrap value (266 today) and he told me he could only give me 30% of spot value. Then proceeded to offer me $35. First of all, 30% of spot is criminal. That alone shocked me. But the $35 he offered was only 14% of scrap value! This is beyond sleazy business practice. Every single online metal scrapper that I checked offered 4 to 5x that offer. He also wanted $30 to test it. It's sad to see someone part of such a small community, trying to rip off people that don't know any better. Good thing I know better, but I'm sure many don't. Anyways, hold onto your silver. The world is seeing a huge supply shock right now. If you really need to sell, check other sources. read more

I was going to let this one go but then a friend had a worse experience. About 4 months ago I came to Adams for a watch battery. I have been buying/selling/dealing in watches since 1999. I have been a collector since 1992. I had a vintage Casio watch that I was going to sell and it needed a battery. I explained to the owner that I needed a battery and he put one in quickly without telling me the price. He immediately told me to set the time myself. He then says $20.00! Wow! really? I have never paid over $8.00 in my life and he was too lazy to set the time. I guess he figured the more you charge and the less you do the more you make! GREED! The experience bothered me a lot and I tried to let it go as I hate leaving negative feedback. Fast forward to a few days ago. My friend is moving away and I wanted to visit him one last time. He had an interesting watch and I commented on it. He then told me it needed a battery today and when he said that; he came off annoyed. Without him saying anything else, I said you went to that place on China Lake and he charged you $20.00! He said No! $25.00! He told me he walked in and asked how much is a battery? He wanted the battery so he could do it himself. The owner grabbed the watch and quickly put one in. Then (ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?) he says you can set the time yourself, go on youtube! My friend said, "No, you set the time" and he did. Was the extra $5.00 because my friend asked to buy the battery and not the installation? I explained to my friend that the same thing happened to me. I said I am going to leave him a negative feedback now that there is a pattern. My friend said to mention his story. Come on! Don't treat people like this! Making money is one thing. Laziness and greed is another. I was the only one in the store when I visited Adams, I am not sure about my friend. Adam's jewelry may not get the most publicity as they should but they have been great everytime that I've needed something quickly. Beautiful selection and absolutely great prices! Don't buy anything without including Adam's in your research. Very friendly, patient and helpful. read more

My wife went to Adams Jewelers with what she thought was a problem with a set of earrings that I had bought two years ago. I am sorry to say that Adam did not show the patience that he is known for and asked my wife to leave the store and not come back. My Fiance & I bought a ring here last week. Rumor has it that it has a bad rap. But! After trying the two other jewelry stores (one directly across the street) in the area this place was by far the best. There was an Asian-American man working there who was absolutely fabulous! We felt judged and un-accommodated at the other jewelry stores. In a former life I worked extensively in customer service and whoever the owner is, you better hold on to this guy. You have the location and the inventory, but people need to feel good making an emotional purchase like a ring & he is the best! We didn't have a huge budget and he worked with us with humor and a easy-going attitude to help us find a ring we absolutely loved. Thank you so much! read more

An excellent store. The staff is great. I got an engagement ring there. They were not pushy when I told them I was looking for a gem stone ring rather than a diamond. They had just the ring! They gave me a great payment plan and made it something to look forward to when I made my payments. Next jewelry purchase I won't even look around I'll just go there. read more

I Have never made a purchase at this store , however I found myself in the position of having to sell some rings during a period of hardship. 18 months ago I brought 3 gold and diamond rings into the store to sell and was told the value was 63.00 maybe more after determining what karat the rings were. I declined to sell them because I had paid over 2500.00 for them 25 years ago. I recently became even more financially distressed so I brought 4 rings into the store all 4 gold and diamond. I did not have a choice this time I had to sell. I was given 60.00 and hussled out the door. I am a disabled senior and feel this store is predatory in taking advantage of people who are desperate.
