Words cannot express my frustration at dealing with Janice, the photographer/owner of ADC Photography. I contacted her roughly a month ago (when I realized my sister's Group-On was about to expire). I left a message Friday/Saturday and didn't receive a call until Thursday of the following week! She then claimed she had tried to call me before (although there was no record or voicemail in my phone). I found out what days she had available to shoot and told her I needed to find out my sister's schedule so I'd call her back. When I called her back (about 20 minutes later), it went straight to voicemail! Apparently she's much nicer in person since my grandmother and sister appeared to have no major issues with her. After the session, I waited the two weeks she had said it would take to send the proof link to the photos; I actually gave her until Tuesday of the following week before I emailed her about the link. She then informed me that she had emailed me about this previously and then reported that the system that holds their photo proofs was down for a day or two. However, a few hours later, I had an email with the link. I think if the system was down, I should have been informed about it before I had to contact her since at that point, it was past the promised delivery date. Just out of professional courtesy. Against my better judgment, I let my sister and grandmother order photos so that she could document this once in a lifetime experience and share it with her friends. She said she'd send over an invoice, and I still haven't heard anything and it's been 5-6 days. Edit: Shortly after I posted this review, I received an invoice. 6 days after I asked for it. Go figure. So between not being informed when there is an issue with link delivery (AFTER the promised delivery date and AFTER I contacted her to find out the holdup) and lengthy periods of time to return a phone call (not email, she returned emails rather promptly), this whole ordeal has left a sour taste in my mouth. I did end up getting my sister's photos and they were wrapped and processed very professionally. My sister was very pleased with them! EDIT: The owner has contacted me and asked that I change my review; however, I stand by what I said. Although the photos did turn out wonderful and the way they were wrapped was very nice, I don't believe that good photos can completely make up for contact issues. If I was just rating the photos, they'd easily earn an 4 or 5. The processing and post work is flawless. It was the fact that I always had to contact her to find out where the photo proof link was or where the invoice was after the promised due date that was the problem, just to clarify. She did explain that she runs the business solely on her own, but I don't think that excuses these issues. If I had been informed before the fact, I probably would have let it go. But when I'm a paying customer (Group-on or not, since we did purchase other photos not included in our package), I expect to be informed when an issue arises as a matter of professional courtesy. read more

Amazing experience! I am a new mom and didn't realize that newborn photos should have been taken within the first two weeks when they are the sleepiest. I scheduled an appointment with ADC when my daughter was almost 6 weeks Old. My daughter cried most of the session and was pretty difficult to photograph. Janice had the patience of a saint and took the extra time needed to calm her down, feed her, change her diapers and ultimately was peed on without removing the smile from her face. I highly recommend - Janice is such an amazing person and photographer. I basically sat in her comfy couch while Janice did all of the work in settling my daughter and taking great care of her. There were even refreshments for me while I waited. Highly recommend!!!! read more

This is the worst experience we had with any photographer. We contacted her to discuss about our requirement to shoot the baby's nursery. We were very specific in what we want. We wanted all the photos shot, very detailed and professionally edited. She quoted us a price $100. We agreed. She sent us a link to pay the same and we paid and decided on a date nd time. On the day of the shoot ( Sunday) she came on time and we once again told her we want all our shots very detailed at the right angle and professionally edited. All these photos were suppose to be used for our personal use and has no commercial value. We also spent time with her during the shoot indicating what all is important to us in the nursery and the shots she needs to take. All well she was here for 1 hr and she left promising delivery on Friday. Middle of the week we called her to check if we can by any chance get the pictures a day or 2 earlier. She said she would try to deliver by Thursday. On Thursday when we contacted her she said she cannot take any calls since she is watching a game and sent us a message saying she will deliver the photos tomorrow( one day prior to the promised date). Which is a lie. We agreed on delivery date Friday and not Saturday. We knew she plays game with fellow customers on delivery and quality and hence we wanted to make sure she dies not ruin our shots and hence we said we re fine with Friday delivery but also made the point that she is lying with an incorrect delivery date. On Friday she sent us a link with the photos. Total images shot were close to 60-75. But she sent us only 36 images. All images are raw without any editing done and the worst they are all crooked angles. SHE DID A TERRIBLE JOB. When we called her to discuss our dissatisfaction she said u got ur photos ad we are done and kept the phone. We tried calling her but she never picked up the call. She then sent us a threatening email saying if we write reviews about her then she will get to us. We went to the police and filed a criminal case of harrsament and civil case for performing FRAUD with us. We will see her in court. Never ever deal with Janice M. She is cunning and a terrible human being and a very very unprofessional and untalented photographer read more

I am very confused to read why anyone would have a problem with ADC photography. Janice is an excellent photographer, businesswoman, communicator, and caretaker. As a photographer she has an excellent eye for detail and for realizing what we as customers and parents wanted to see in the portraits of our child. She allowed us the opportunity to bring our suggestions to the photo shoot and even tweaked some of our ideas just enough to give the end result just what it needed. Janice uses top of the line photography equipment and has endless props in her studio in order to give your portraits that special touch. As a businesswoman she made sure that all of our prints were delivered in a timely manner and presented to us with the utmost quality. Janice has no problem explaining all of her many print options in order for you to be completely pleased with your final product. I was able to contact Janice multiple times in order to make sure that I understood exactly what I was getting, and whenever I had a question she would always respond to me quickly and professionally. We were very particular about certain things and she was very accommodating to our needs and desires for our photo session. Janice photographed our first child and seeing the way that she handled our baby I can easily say that we will be back to see her when we have more children in the future. At one point during the photo shoot Janice took the time to soothe our child in order to maintain the continuity of the session. Seeing Janice work with our child made us realize that we would have no problem with her handling our baby in the many different positions that we wanted to see in the portraits. I have, and will continue to highly recommended ADC Photography to everyone that has a newborn or is interested to take family portraits. We still receive compliments every day from the photos that Janice took of our family. read more

I have to disagree with the previous post on Janice's professionalism and ADC photography as a whole. I couldn't say more positive things about my experience with Janice. I booked Janice for my wedding that was in 2009. The photography was the most important aspect of wedding for me personally. I interviewed over 15 different photographers and looked at their work. I was initially impressed with Janice's artistic ability having looked at her website. When we met in person, she showed me the options and her work spoke for itself. I admired her artistic ability and felt she could see my vision. Janice was professional, and extremely down to earth. We clicked well from the gate. When I contemplated having about 40 different family shots, she really helped me to understand how hard it would be to accomplish that, and that it was important that I get the shots I was looking for on my wedding day, rather than trying to have a family photo shoot. My trying to appease the family was my initial focus, but realizing Janice's years of experience, I took what she said to heart. Instantly when we started those few photos, I knew EXACTLY why she had told me what she did and that it wouldn't work, so we scrapped majority of what I had in mind. I truly respected her honesty with me. On the wedding day, she and her sister captured every moment and detail I was looking to remember. Janice's attention to detail was evident. She also did an AMAZING job on the Photo-shop after the fact. She was so accommodating to very my many requests. I received countless compliments on our photos. The only delay that occurred, had more to do with my not choosing what pictures I wanted in my album for several months. And I'm a firm believer that if you want things in a hurry, expect to get crappy results. I would take the previous person's negative comment with a grain of salt. After seeing the writer's other opinions on many other companies its clear that this person has considerable time on her hands to critique just about every company in the tri-state area. Janice was an honest person to deal with, and if there were any changes, or delays for any reason, she was honest, where as another company may have made up an excuse. I respect that. I would highly recommend ADC Photography to anyone who wants great photos that have been given much time and attention to detail. If you want crap and are in a hurry, look elsewhere, because with Janice you'll only get quality. read more

Lets be honest with each other, as the parent of a newborn, choosing a photographer for the new love of your life can be as daunting as the pre wedding process. With that being said, we could not be happier with Janice in every facet of the process. Upon being greeted at her studio, she fed us and gave us something to drink. As a new parent believe me i will take all the carbs i can get. Since our little one was not cooperative at first Janice took the time and patience to chat with us while waiting for Rosemary to finish feeding. It does not take long to see how passionate Janice is and how much she loves her work. Her studio is comfortable, quiet and feels like home. The picture quality and preparation were exceptional.I would highly recommend ADC to anyone. :) read more

I just don't understand how anyone could be unhappy with their experience with ADC and Janice. The portraits of my daughter are beautiful. I can't tell you how many people have commented on how gorgeous they are. I couldn't be happier with them. I have seen some very nice portraits, but these are in a whole different league. Janice is wonderful as well. She made the whole experience fun and spent quite a bit of time with us getting the pictures just right. It was a pleasure to interact with her both before and after the shoot. I just had a baby boy and am returning to get his portraits here as well. Our experience with Janice and ADC was terrific! It started out with our first shoot at her smaller studio with our very active 2 1/2 yr. old daughter. She was very patient and extremely good at engaging her! She got some awesome shots! Our next visit was in her new and much bigger studio with our new baby(6days old) and again with our daughter. That day for me was horrendous! Our son pooped and peed all over me and her set, our daughter got into everything possible, my husband knocked down her new (and i'm sure very expensive) window frames and i had a new mommy "breakdown". through all of that she stayed calm, cool, and collected. She was so understanding and empathetic plus she got awesome shots! Our photos and experience are priceless! I have used Janice for all of my professional photos. Maternity shoot, newborn pictures, holiday pictures and most recently a Boudoir photo session (which turned out amazing)!!!! I have never been disappointed with any of her work and I have never had any difficulty booking for the days that I've wanted. I find that she is very flexible and I have never had any issues contacting Janice via email. She always responds in a timely manner. Proofs have been ready for review when she promised and packages are always received right on schedule. I have been using Janice as my photographer for a little over 2 years now and I will continue to book sessions with her, as the quality of her work is unmatched. read more
