You won't find awkward hens night paraphernalia or joke gifts here for Dad but you will uncover educational and well-crafted children's toys, designer crockery and sheet sets, pineapple lamps and even fragrances and candles. You can buy from their online shop but it is much more fun to head in store and play with whatever items you are bound to justify spending some of your paycheck to buy.

They have a variety of educational toys for kids (don't we love those these days) as well as some very politically correct dolls with different nationalities which were great! The kids products were all handmade, and excellent quality, and the homewares featured many adorable owls. I loved pretty much everything in here, especially the Korean diaries and sweet one off stationary. I am going to come here for gifts from now on and my friends are going to love me for it. I really love the new name and branding, it is super cute and matches the whole Japanese theme of the store. Well, not all of the stock is Japanese, but they also stock lots of cool art, jewellery, home décor and toys. This is one of my fav places to shop for gifts for my friends and family. You will find lots of quirky unique things in this store, like fake deer heads, cool mugs, quirky books and gift cards. I actually found some super cool Star Wars plates with Darth Vader with a top hat. That was a immediate purchase. You know those moments when you are shopping and you say "omg I must have!" Check out the jewellery in this store, you will find some really lovely modern styled elegant pieces. I found it very hard to choose from so many cute options. Some pieces full silver, others have beads and acrylic shapes. The staff in this store are super friendly and so happy to help you out if you are looking for something in particular. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they have a loyalty program which gives you discounts and invites to a special VIP party a couple of times a year. While at the counter my boyfriend and I were discussing what he could get as a Christmas present for his sister and the girl serving me overheard. She asked him, a little rudely, what he was looking for and when he said 'a jewellery box but there's not really one here I like", she marched him over to a rack of jewellery stands that we didn't like, claiming she could find ANYTIHNG we asked for. After he said he was looking for more of a travel container she demanded we head to Diva where they had "exactly that thing" and how pleased we should be that "I told you I could find anything for you". It was somewhat helpful as we did find something similar at Diva although we didn't buy it, but she was a little pushy and pretentious and in the end the experience was marred by the strangeness....

There are some gorgeous pieces in here from paper weights to huge mirrors made to look like a window! I was so tempted to buy one just for the sake of it but the practical side of my brain talked me out of it. Several beautiful ornate candle stick holders take pride of place and stand with authority, whilst the under foliage of trinkets and whimsy items surround them. A well organised placement of items for the customer to easily browse through and no hidden price tags. Also in the store are some antique oriental pieces of furniture which blend in very nicely with the rest of the decor and whilst the theme is aimed on the oriental side, I feel it doesn't show it to full extent as it's a little watered down with modern items made to look old. But I can definitely pick up on the Moorish side of it as there are lanterns galore inside and outside. I can really see these hanging out under my balcony but problem is I'd have to deck out the rest of it to tie in with them. They also sell very detailed printed paper, which could be expensive wrapping paper or used to line books or boxes, or as card decorations. I love the range of china pots with bold patterns and designs, as well as their range of cloth covered and embroidered notepads. My favourite cabinet holds the Bad Taste Bears, a range of little bear figurines doing all kinds of amusingly rude things, while still being very cute. Prepare for penis humour. They are one of the few things I'd buy for guys in this shop. The owner is very friendly, and lovely to have a chat with. All in all, this shop is a great experience.

Some of the products may seem a little pricey, compared to the likes of Big W or Kmart, but then again with premium names like Morgan & Finch, one can expect quality and good finishing. There are plenty of props to decorate the kids room, like a truck bookend, butterfly pillowcases and stunning hand towels for the guest bathroom. From the smallest of picture frames and ornaments, to mirrors and pictures for your walls, the Unley store (the one I frequent the most) is always full to brimming with a range of items you'd expect to see and even some you wouldn't. These days they sell PJ's and slippers, beach towels, candles, coffee cups and a range of pretty things you don't always find in other stores. There are two times of the year that I especially like to visit ... and that doesn't mean just two visits - its actually more like 10 visits at those 2 times (Confused? Don't worry so is my credit card provider!) Ok, here's my point ... twice a year they sell the best Christmas decorations and Easter trinkets you'll find anywhere. I am a complete junkie when it comes to buying these things so I go back time after time just to buy one more piece! In fact I will be heading there later today to purchase just one more red bauble for my tree. Here's a tip if you're in the market for sheets, towels or other assorted items - wait for their sales. They have great sales and you can always grab a bargain or two. I rarely pay full price these days as I know things will usually be discounted at some stage and I'll just get cross that I paid full price.
