Is learning how to fly on your bucket list? Do your arms hurt when you try it without an aircraft? If the answer is "Yes" to either of these then look no further! The Adelaide Soaring Club is the ONLY place to be. Yes it's a bit far out to travel perhaps - but learning to fly over the Barossa Valley makes up for it.
Depending on the sort of licence you want (Recreational, gliding, private pilot etc) will determine the total price. But a recreational licence for example would be around the $4k mark.
I'm learning at the moment as it was top of my bucket list and it's been a dream for most of my life. The instructors are fantastic and most importantly - patient! Instruction days are Wednesday and Saturday with each lesson costing you around $140 per 90 minutes. You'll learn in a cool Jabiru 170 2 seater light aircraft - so easy to pilot!
The best way for you to find out is by taking a Trial Instruction Flight which will only cost you $100 for 30 minutes and can be booked by either phoning (M-F) or on their website.
