I like bubbly water and today's offering on the ICE train was Adelholzener Alpenquellen. And it was good. Nice bubbly quality, good flavor and despite being bumped around on a train for three hours, still quite bubbly. I tried to find it in the convenience stores in Hamburg but could not. I have a thing for sparkling mineral water. Vichy Catalan from Spain has held the vaulted spot for favorite for a long time. As I travel I always look for something comparable. Adelholzener was something I discovered in Munich. Coming from the Bavarian Alps, it's got a fairly clean taste and good carbonation. Not quite as naturally fine tuned as Vichy but as far as Germany goes it's been one of the best so far. read more
