I stop here every time I traverse 95 from Florida to Massachusetts. The food is good and the company better. The décor is AOK and I am happy here. The surrounding buildings are a bit sketchy but all is well don't worry. The food is normal and obviously not fresh off the farm. Eat up glyphosate and all. You will enjoy it. read more

What a great little find in downtown Lumberton. Wonderful old school Italian. We had garlic bread with cheese and tomatoes to start. Our entrees were eggplant parmesan and manicotti with hi sweet italian sausage added to it. My husband raved about the sausage for hours. If you're expecting high authentic Italian food, he will not need to expectations. However, I do not want you to think that this place has bad food. I came in here with a fierce hunger in my gut, and by the time I was walking out the door, my blue jeans busted a button off and shattered a glass pane on a street light just out the door. This is a hidden little gem in a town that has limited decent restaurant options. The chef has created a menu with many good and quite tasty options. Each pasta dish we tried was very good and the portions are sizable. Service was attentive and prompt. This restaurant is well worth a visit. read more

Amazing food! The Chicken Parmigiana is some of the best I've ever had. The service is fast and friendly. Paula couldn't have been more gracious. The atmosphere is quiet and speaking with those who are at the table is easy and no need to shout. The music is truly in the background, not overwhelming. We will never go again. The owner doesn't like gay people and the food was nasty and cold. I can't believe in this day and age we still have to fight for our equality. We have 4 kids. Our 16 year old son went to there store in the mall. When we started talking he said you guys are together. I said yes for over 22 years. He said what sort of business partners. I said no We are domestic partners. He gave me a weird look and cut everything short. Never once has he called our son. He doesn't reply on social media. Feel sorry for you dude. This is a "context" four stars. At home base in Austin, it's maybe 2.5 rounded to 3. But we're not in Austin. We're in Lumberton, NC, a provincial backwater lost in the middle of Eastern NC, and the fact that you can get anything approximately edible at all seems far from a mathematical certainty. Yet still, Adelio's tries hard and gave our party of eight a nice time. So, Adelio's is in the Econolodge by the I95 access road. It's next to the bar in the adjacent room, and the combination of food, drink, and lodging in one place may actually make it the social hub of this uneventful town. Adelio's is Italian/seafood, presenting one of the few options for that available on a Tuesday here, when several local places are closed. And so, since we had to be in Lumberton for the mother-in-law's birthday, it seemed like the best choice available: we were looking for anything reasonably upscale, and menu items range from appetizers like bruschetta with shrimp, fried zucchini sticks, and mussels in red sauce to main courses that are clustered into traditional pasta dishes, steaks, and seafood entrees. The space exudes faded glory, appropriate for a hotel that was probably once nicer before being sold to a budget chain. The old carpet still smells of the smoke that was allowed indoors in NC up to a few years back. But they do what they can, and the Christmas decorations were nice. The clientele reflects the greying theme, being mostly older locals. Adelio's service includes all the things that it should: servers refill iced teas and pour (reasonably priced) wine, tell you about the several specials, and bring plenty of (entirely standard) bread and butter. Adelio's was also kind enough to make us a birthday cake on short notice, so thanks to them for that. The seafood entrees were on the pricier end of things ($25-$30), but were enjoyable. I had a tilapia stuffed with crab and shrimp with angel hair pasta. The proximity to the coast means fresh seafood, and while nothing was world-shaking, the pasta, sauce, and meat combinations were all well-chosen and flavorful. A few things (think olives from a can) spoke of corners cut, but the food met our expectations. Everyone, and especially the guest of honor, seemed to legitimately enjoy the meal and dessert. So four stars, for providing us a good time and a good effort in a city equally remote from the Triangle and the coast, and thus probably not legendary for fine dining. Quite the out of the way spot, right off 95 in Lumberton, in the Econolodge! stopped fir dinner on the ling drive. They sure were friendly! Service was slow, they were short staffed, but apologized a thousand times and gave us free wine. My lamb chop special was very good! read more

We drove 45 minutes for a very sub-par experience. We had been to this restaurant during the day and enjoyed it but tonight was like night from day. First of all, the prices advertised online , are a Lot different than in the restaurant. For instance, my husband's Reuben sandwich was actually $12.95 instead of the $10.95 advertised onthe website. I ordered a Chicken Marsala ( which had obvious chicken pimple skin and pin feathers sticking out and a perfectly awful Marsala sauce... how this dish is abest seller ? I don't know). The Marsala price online is $16.95 but at the restaurant was $20. When i sent this awful Marsala back? It took FOR-EVER to get my baked Lasagna and again the price at the restaurant was $14.95 instead of the advertised price. The separate beverage waitress NEVER offered my husband more water ( possibly because it's free?) but she offered to re-fill my iced tea one time. To be honest, the fried zucchini appetizer was good and served hot and fresh and the bread was good. Although you get very small slices. The Minestrone soup was MEH ! ( could have been better). The kicker though was the $1.38 " FEE" tacked onto the bill. The owner treated my husband rather rudely when he asked about it saying " it's a merchants fee that credit card companies charge them to handle a transaction so they felt it necessary to pass this fee on to the consumers. He non-chalantly said " Everybody's doing it"... our waitress ( Amber) was wonderful but obviously overworked. Needless to say, this will be our last visit here...too many negatives.... read more

This sure beats the restaurant chains along 95! We found this on Yelp, and decided to give it a try. It's located downtown, but only about 5-8 minutes from hotels off exit 20 in Lumberton, NC. Brick interior with cool Coffee House music in the background. We each had a drink, and went with spaghetti with sausage for one meal, and the Veal Francese for mine. Quantity was huge and it came with a house salad. The food tasted great, and didn't break the bank! I'd recommend highly. read more

Spent a quick overnight at a nearby KOA. We're starving and knew nothing about the area. Ordered take out. I grew up in NYC so I'm picky about Italian food. Staff were nice. Ordered chicken parm and I was delightfully surprised. Excellent! Would definitely return if I was in the area!!!! read more

This is the first time in Lumberton on our way north. This place we found on Yelp and it was delicious. Yelp does a great job of recommending places if you are from out of town. Michelle was great and pours a mean martini. I had the veal parmigiana and it was yummy. My wife had eggplant and it was right out of their garden in the back. This is my second time at Adelios but my first at this location. I was so glad to know the company found a way to stay a float after the floods in Robeson county of 2016. The food was good and it allowed for me and my LS to really hang out and talk with out being interrupted every 5 min. its more than enough space for dine in along with a bar area. the party started a 10 with karaoke. They also have a club area in the back that you do have to pay an additional fee of about 10 bucks to get in. The line grew pretty long . I enjoyed it here and the pics did the food no justice. read more

I'm sorry but I was sorely disappointed by this place. When we walked in I thought it was going to be a great experience. I loved the antique industrial (I don't how else to describe it) look they had going on. I did happen to notice the 90 sanitation score though and started feeling a little concerned. Started out with a cup of minestrone which was pretty good. My husband had the fish chowder which was also good. Was excited to try the chicken piccata with angel hair (apparently made in house). But I was confused when my plate came and there wasn't a single caper to be seen. Ok fine but then when I tasted it it was like eating pure butter and not in a good way. The chicken was... mealy? So midway through my meal my two year old needs to go potty. Get to the restroom and can't lock the stall door cause there's a huge chunk of door frame missing. I also notice the paper towel dispensers are falling off the walls. Mind you this is a restaurant that charges $20+ for some plates at dinner. Oh and wait a minute, where in the world is the soap dispenser?! Find it lying in a corner of the counter with no soap in it. I track down an employee after having to leave the bathroom with unwashed hands. And wait for ... ten minutes? For someone to track down some soap while I stand awkwardly waiting in the hallway. Finally get back to my plate and discover that the last two pieces of my chicken are so hard I can't even bear to try to chew it. Disgusting. Thankfully we were able to finish on a positive note with an absolutely delicious slice of jello limoncello cake. No surprise, it evidently is not made in house. Oh and we did have a very friendly waitress but we will definitely not be returning. Can't believe we flushed $32 down the toilet here. read more

Portions were large side salad & bread came with the meal. Wine and beverage selection is good, prices are very reasonable.

My shrimp alfredo was so hot it burned my mouth, a sure sign it was heated up in the microwave. The angel hair pasta was over cooked. The salad had such large pieces I had a hard time getting it into my mouth. The decor is very interesting and the background music is appropriate. My waitress was excellent. Not worth the prices. For those who call this place a gem, I am sorry you have never had good Italian food. read more

The hostess tonight (elderly woman) was extremely extremely rude tonight. My boyfriend and I walked in around 9ish for dinner and she looked at us as if we were third world foreigners. She took the two menus and didn't even ask us to follow her. Mind you she didn't even say hello. Then a waitress told us she told her to come get us. When we arrived to the table she didn't even apologize for being so dismissive and cold. So my boyfriend and I quickly sat down willing to put this scene behind us. Then this lady goes into the kitchen and whispers something about us to the girl in the kitchen, and that girl made it obvious it was about us because she turned to stare at just us as the hostess whispered in her ear. After that my boyfriend and I had enough so we left. Upon leaving we confronted the hostess about her behavior. And she denied any of it at first to then suddenly snap at us and told us "okay then don't eat here then." Like first of all, if you're going to do anything in hospitality you should know to maintain your cool at ALL times, otherwise don't work in a field where the purpose is to make others feel comfortable and welcomed. If the owner of this restaurant is reading this he shouldn't think twice about hiring a much nicer hostess who isn't so miserable and nasty with people who are about to support his business and keep it running, especially during a pandemic. read more

Fast service. It was a rainy day and no one was there at the time. I ordered veal parmigiana since the shrimp and lobster was too expensive. I had it to go. The sauce on linguine taste old and the veal was nothing special but thick cheese on a batter slab of veal. The garlic bread barely tasted like garlic on it. I will not return here or Italian Kitchen (the other establishment) again. I'll stick to making my own pasta or gong to Fayetteville for authentic Italian cuisine. read more

Adelio's is the best Italian restaurant in Lumberton. Mr. Adelio and his wife are very nice and accommodating. Our server Rebecca was outstanding. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. Some of the items that can be requested even though they aren't on the menu are shrimp and grits, linguini w/ clam sauce, and chicken cordon bleu. Don't miss out on these VIP items. The homemade chocolate mousse pie is decedent. This restaurant is no longer attached to a motel. The restaurant has been relocated to a prime downtown location and it is a big improvement. I'll give this place 5 stars!! My reasonings... 1) it's a hole in wall off of I-95 that you would've never expected to be there 2) the service was AHMAYZING and Stephanie was our server. She was great. Very attentive, but not at the table too often 3) we started with an appetizer that was more than enough for two people (the antipasta). We both had salads (I had a side and my brother had a Caesar - not the greatest but ok) 4) I had the prime rib and baked potato - such amazing flavor for both 5) my brother had the special - stuffed steak and baked potato which he said he loved! 6) the desserts are to die for! The cannoli was fantastic and my brother said the cheesecake was AHMAYZING! Everything is made in house. Like I said before, this place is in an unlikely location, but well worth it.
