This place is primarily a fabrication workshop which means they can construct things such as 3D models of buildings for architecture purposes but they also have a very good laser cutter here which was just what I needed. All I had to do was supply them with a vector illustrator file of what I wanted laser cut and that was it, so easy. He told me the job would be an hour and that it costs $20 an hour to hire the machine and a technician. I thought this was really good value especially if I was going to get a crisp and clean result without any hassle. I went to a cafe down the road whilst I waited and I went back about 50 mins later. My job was already completed which was great I thought because then it would cost less that $20. When I went to pay he said it would be $40!!?? I asked why and he said it was because he used two machines for an hour so it would be twice the price. I thought this was incredibly sneaky as he had originally quoted 1hr at $20, anyway I couldn't be bothered arguing as I was running out of time for my deadline so I went to pay with my Eftpos card. He then told me that they don't accept Eftpos so I would need to go and get some money out!!?? I was so annoyed because I had been hanging around for an hour waiting for them to finish so I could easily have gone and got some if he had only told me before. I had to drive for ages to find the nearest one which was such a waste of time, I already had my laser cut files so I could have been dishonest and not gone back (believe me I was tempted) but I went back and paid him.
