Service really doesnt get any better! I came in looking for a new pair of quality latin dancing ballroom shoes, already feeling pretty pessimistic as I have a hard time finding the right sized dance shoe. I felt my heart sink yet again when Karen told me that they didn't have my size in inventory and was ready to leave feeling defeated. However, she handed me the shoe catalogue and told me to pick out any shoe I liked in my size, and she would order them. I asked her if I had to pay in advance, and she replied that I could pick up to three shoe styles, she would call me when they came in, and all I had to do was try them on, no deposit. No commitments. Awesome!! So as stated, the shoes came in, and I fell in love with a pair of tan leather open-toe Blochs that fit beautifully! She also sells really cute dangly earrings that are ideal if you are an avid social dancer because they are SUPER light on the ears. So smart! As a belly dancer, hoop dancer, Ren Faire-goer and general costume-lover I'm always looking for great new costume pieces - and wow does Adira have a lot of offer! It seems like every time I wander into this store there are new shiny beautiful things to tempt me. The owner is very nice and will even do special orders for you - she helped me order the perfect ballet dress for my 7-year-old's performance, and she remembered that I once said "If you ever see this in silver...." and had it waiting for me the next time I came in! I love this shop! It has the most interesting and eclectic selection of dance wear! I went in with my daughter ( who is 7 and LOVES this place) to look for ballet wear for her upcoming class. We were given great service, and attended to so well. We made our purchase of the classic black leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes. I started learning ballet recently. As a big fan of online shopping (and a lazy bone to save a trip to a brick and mortar store), my first stop was Amazon. I spent quite some time reading reviews and bought ballet shoes, tights, bun maker sets, leotards based on my own understanding/assumptions but it turned out none of them were a good fit for me. After reading Yelp review of Adira Dance and Costume, I decided to give it a try. The experience was way beyond my experience, to the extent that I wanted to encourage everyone nearby who needs ballet items to stop by and check it out. The person who helped me (Mandela?) was super warm hearted, friendly, fun and experienced. She wanted to provide the best fit for you so you could enjoy ballet as much as possible. She patiently helped me measure my foot size, offered me shoes of different styles to try on until I felt 100% comfortable. She also gave me suggestions on the color of the tights to fit my natural skin tone. I wasn't sure which type of bun maker would work the best for my thick hair and she was very honest to give her suggestions, different from the most popular ones in market but the one that suits me the best. The items in her store are very well chosen too. I got everything I need and found the quality was really great. For first time ballet dancer, there are actually more technical aspects of the wear and outfit than you would expected. Based on my personal experience, it definitely requires someone with rich experience, expertise, keen eyes and a warm heart to help you and ensure you are all set from the get go! There was belly dancing costumes, square dancing outfits, flowing skirts, scarves, tops, bottoms, clothes for Nia, jewelry and other accessories, it was amazing. Then the owner was amazing. She was busy on the phone and helping customers, but as soon as she had one second she checked on me. This is a great shop for a variety of outfits. Belly dancing, square dancing, costumes, etc. I square dance, but I got a floor length full-circle skirt from the store that would probably be used for some other dancing style. It is an awesome skirt and I love the way it flows. Adira is a very helpful woman and the store dog is quite friendly. Everyone in the store provides helpful ideas if you tell them what you're looking for. As with most costumes, they don't come cheap, but they're good quality and great fabrics. read more

I came here to buy a new leotard for my daughter. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have more of a selection. The styles of the leos seemed dated and generic and they didn't have a lot to choose from in her size. The lady there was also maybe a little too involved. She was very nice and helpful, but she was so involved that I felt a little awkward and pressured to buy something. That's probably just my personal shopping preference though. The prices were reasonable. I've seen higher and I've seen lower. The discount from Yelp helped a little bit though. I ended up purchasing one leo. It wasn't exactly what I was hoping for, but it works. I don't know if I would go here again. I know of other dance stores that have a wider selection so I would probably go there instead. But it wasn't a bad experience. If you're in the area and don't have anything specific in mind, give this place a try! read more

We recently signed my daughter up for ballet classes and needed to get her shoes. Right when we walked in we were helped immediately. Karen sized her and has her walk around the store to make sure her heel wasn't slipping. With my daughter just turning 3, her feet are growing so quickly, but Karen gave us a size she can grow in to. She was very helpful in choosing some leotards as well. Prices are decent, and with the 17% Yelp discount, they are even better than prices online. I went in here with a Cinderella costume that I ordered online that needed major tailoring. I was very nervous since my costume party was that night but the lady that helped me, Karen Stevens, was so friendly and very helpful!
