I was actually recommended here by the Shell station thats at the corner of Olympic and Bundy. But even with the recommendation I called a bunch of places around the 90025 area code and this was the cheapest place (by like $5) in the area. I came here relatively early in the morning and there was only one car in front of me. Some young guy, I assume his son, helped get some of my info to get that administrative stuff out of the way. The AAA recommended ADM Advanced Diagnostics when my Chevy 1987 G20 stopped running. At first I thought it was a battery. It was towed last night and in the morning I got an early call from Albert Jan saying he already diagnosed the problem . The wiring harness was burned. He tried to look for the original parts for couple of store but it was discontinued by the manufacturer and the only option is the after market. I don't usually write Yelp reviews but this place definitely deserves it and I would have put a 10 stars if I could! This place really saved me a lot of money from two other garages that tried to rob me (maybe because I am a girl and don't really know much about mechanic in cars... Idn). It is really hard to find a garage that you can trust! Believe me! Here is my experience I was in the process of buying a car but needed to get the smog check so we could transfer names. We took the car to get it however it didn't pass because I had a light saying "check engine". The car is a Mercedes car, so I took it to this Mercedes Certified place to do the service and check why it wasn't passing the smog check and they came back to me saying that I had a problem with my gas tank and I needed to replace it. Price to replace the gas tank: $1,500. They clearly told me as long as you don't replace the gas tank you won't be able to pass the SMOG. Okay, so the seller of the car and I took the car to another garage (that the seller trust) just to make sure the information given was true and this place told us that the gas tank didn't need to be replace but that the Fuel Pump Assembly needed to be repaired. Price to repair it: $950. Later on, someone just recommended us to go Adm Advanced Diagnostics and see Albert to review the car. That Albert was going to give us the right response. We left the car in the morning and in the afternoon Albert call us and asked us to come back over. What was the real problem? A small tube connected to the gas tank had a hole!!! Maybe cause of a mouse or something. Albert replaced it. Price for the reviewing and replacing: $129!!!!!!!!!!!! There is definitely a difference between replacing a Gas Tank for $1,500 and replacing a tube for $129 (and actually this is not even the replacing price but the review price). It took not a long time at all to Albert to see what was really wrong and to fix it and for the most reasonable price ever. Albert is just honest and he really knows what he is doing. I would definitely recommend this place again and again! read more

I was stuck desperately trying to find someone who was open on a Saturday as my car wouldn't start. AAA guy recommended this place and I was honestly a bit hesitant to take his recommendation, but I'm happy that I did. CALLED TO MAKE SURE THE SHOP WORKS ON HYBRIDS after being referred here to get my battery tested, they said yes and that I could come first thing in the morning when they opened. The next morning I got to the shop and waited for 45 minutes before leaving because no one was there. Albert went out of his way to save me $250. The DMV had given me the wrong information about what tests I needed for my situation, and he spotted the error, and told me to call them back. I wanted to just do the test the DMV had said, but he insisted that I should double-check, because he knew he was right. Of course he was, and he saved me the trouble of an unnecessary test. In addition, he did my smog check so quickly and conveniently that I was able to avoid coming back. This guy is a pro. He's very direct, so just listen to him and be polite. read more

Not only was the service fast and the price was very reasonable but he also let me keep my car there two days because I could not pick it up without charging me for storage. Went here to get a smog test (and a diagnostic) but since I reset the car computer (with a obd) he said drive more. Fair. I came back when the car had computer info. he said "can you smog it somewhere else". I told him I went to Valvoline down the street (which I did) and they had reffered me back to him for code clearing. He then said "I lost my computer, come back another day" then proceeded to talk to an old guy waiting behind me about a smog. My car is externally beat up and I think that's why he neglected the proccess. It was just a pressure sensor pcode too. His lie about his obd reader was what made me write the first bad review I've ever written. I hate bitching and moaning but if he lies about something simple like that what else would he lie about. Albert was a God send. I needed my car to pass its smog check, and after 4 trips to my regular mechanic where I would wait for at least an hour for him to check if it would pass, and 2 trips to the actual smog testing place where it failed both times, I thought I was just going to give up and just deal with the fact that my car won't pass. I checked out yelp for places closer to me in West LA to get a smog diagnostics done and I found ADM. I drove up and immediately Albert checked my car computer and told me EXACTLY how to get my car to pass. When I did what he said (drive 55 mph on the freeway, cruising speed for about 50 miles without breaking) I brought my car back, he checked it again, and told me it was ready and sure enough it passed! There is nothing more frightening that your older car breaking down in a different town. My car broke down in Santa Monica and I was lucky enough to find this place less than a couple of blocks from the freeway exit. My engine was overheating and I barely made it there. I was comforted by the owner, Albert, who told me I needed to wait about 25-30 minutes, before he could look at it. He was very courteous and nice, and super fast. As I was waiting there, he took care of 3 clients and ran a smog check as well. He could have easily made a lot of money off of me for this and that, but he identified the cooling fan as the problem and I was on my way in less than 1.5 hours. I could not be more appreciative and happy about the experience. I told all my friends in Santa Monica about Al and the prompt service. I would highly recommend this place. read more

I have been struggling for so long with getting my car to pass the smog test. I was told over and over the monitors aren't ready so keep driving it (by multiple smog checkers and auto repair men). My Prius was towed to Albert's shop late Saturday evening because it was making a really strange, loud grating sound. I called Albert on Monday morning and he told me that he was checking it out and that if he only had to do something minor, he wouldn't charge me. Well, he was true to his word. He only had to put the brake dust cover (whatever that is) back into place and the sound disappeared! He wouldn't take any money and my faith in humankind was reinforced.
