Nico After
Grace M.

My dog Nico and I are beyond grateful for the incredible care he received. Dr. Hill, removed a growth from Nico's mouth and is now the happiest pup with the prettiest smile! Not only is Dr. Hill a highly skilled vet, but also a genuinely kind, compassionate, and caring human being who genuinely loves animals. There are no words to fully express how thankful we are. May God and Saint Francis of Assisi bless you and Adobe Animal Hospital (Los Altos). Thank you for everything, Dr. Hill and staff!

Porthos and her favorite babysitter.

I had an emergency today that I didn't see coming. After giving my three cats flea baths this morning, using the same flea shampoo as always, my adopted stray Porthos showed signs of sever sickness. It turns out it wasn't the flea bath at all. She was just very old and it was her time.(I didn't know that at that point.) She was weak, howling, and barely responsive. As I cradled her and tried to get my vet on the phone, she calmed a bit but was breathing oddly with lots of sighs. My vet said to bring her to an ER. I looked up adobe, frantically told them what was happening and they said to bring her right in. I put Porthos in her case quickly and she was limp, but still breathing, still a heart beat. I got there in 5 min. But about 3 blocks away, I couldn't feel her breath anymore with my hand in her case. I ran her in and the staff was ready. We all ran back to the exam room. They took her out, checked for vitals. But she was indeed gone. I broke down. I've loved this animal for over a decade, she was my shadow, and suddenly gone. We talked for a minute after I pulled myself together, and her passing made sense. The staff was incredibly supportive and thoughtful with this person who wasn't a regular patient. They got me a box and blanket for my girl and I left with her to burry her at home. I can't thank the staff enough for how they treated us. They really care for both people and pets. For that, 5's

They were very kind and helpful. They gave us a quote for bloodwork, it was a few hundred more than we expected. They made some adjustments and we went a head with the new plan. They came back with some bad news. We were definitely devastated to hear the prognosis. They were very kind and helpful as they told us they were going to give him a treatment so me could bring him home to say our goodbyes. We were needless to say heartbroken but also extremely appreciative of their honesty in what they thought. We brought our boy home after the treatment, feed him food took him for a few walks and gave him lots of love then brought him back to have him put down . We are supper grateful for their honesty and compassion. We will miss him very much

*First time experience* Review for a Cat…read more Believe the reviews, this place is phenomenal! While I hope all of our fur babies will never need to come here, sometimes things happen and unexpectedly. I want to be transparent that I was at SAGE earlier in the day-- let's just say I don't like the route they wanted to go and I went to VEG few hours later. As we know, cats are masters at hiding pain and discomfort. The below review was from July 15, 9pm at night. My 5 1/2 cat Bebe's symptoms: 1. Not eating or drinking and it was 95 degrees 2. No potty at all (I have a litter robot, plus two other cats) I brought her in after 15 hours of these symptoms. A bit "quickly" but as I mentioned it was hot out and my girl LOVES food. About the vet: I called beforehand, very nice gentleman answered, didn't rush me, didn't treat me like another number in the queue. I also want to call out, no AI crap! A real human answered when I called I didn't have to select "press 7" etc. I arrived about 20 mins after the call and was greeted warmly by the front desk. Extremely clean place, coffee and tea bar, freshly baked cookies! We were promptly given a room and Dr Molly came in within 15 mins of our arrival after the nurse took vitals. Dr Molly is a pure assets to this vet. Before she started talking, she sat down on the ground to not overwhelm my cat. Her voice is very sweet, she understood my concern and gently got Bebe comfortable. Treated her like a little scared child vs just some animal with no feelings. She got to Bebe's level vs throwing her on the metal table. Dr Molly listened to every little trivial thing I said about the past 24 hours because I wanted to be transparent and she determined we should do an x ray and blood work. I was promptly given the link via phone to pay + outline of costs, clear! I did have to wait about 2 hours for results of the xray due to the hour I was there (9pm to midnight), the results were sent out for review. I received them back and they are the clearest x rays I've ever seen, better than a human hospital, seriously. They send you a live link to download them too. Diagnosis: she came back in, same calm voice vs the chaos she had in the vet (few emergencies popped up with dogs) while I was waiting. She gave Bebe fluids and anti nausea injection and an antibiotic injection. I got home 1am and she started eating! I couldn't believe it. Her red blood cells were a bit high (inflammation), thank god no blockages. What I think was wrong: we had a little stress when I got home with a big box and she ran between my legs and got stressed running into them + the door slammed same time she got freaked out running into my legs hard.

Brought my dog in at 11pm since this was the only available vet that open. She had CHF and we…read morenoticed her breathing was getting muddy and panting. They kept my dog in an oxygen tank overnight and the next day advised us that she would not make it. I understand that vets advise humane euthanasia but they shouldn't guilt trip the patient's owners into it. Also please know how your pets act because vets and vet techs don't know them as much as you do! Our dog usually pants heavily and gets really anxious and the vets perceived it as her struggling to breathe and even kept advising us that euthanasia was the only way. We opted to bring her home and get a second opinion with her primary vet (who advised us that she was still bright and alert and needed treatment, not euthanasia!) Her primary vet also saw red flags with all the different medication she was given and obviously would cause her body to react negatively. We could have lost her that day to euthanasia but thank goodness we followed our instinct and brought her home. It's been 5 days now and she's starting to eat and drink and get her strength back. When it's time - they will let you know. Humane euthanasia is beneficial, yes. But know how your pets are and always get a second opinion if you're not sure!

Dr. Arndt took the time to answer every question we had, explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, and never rushed us. He made sure we were completely comfortable with the treatment plan and medication, but most importantly, he made my dog his #1 priority during our visit. The entire staff was kind, patient, and genuinely cared about helping my baby. The level of compassion means everything. Thank you for going above and beyond for my little Watson Baby Cake Nugget.

For some reason, they took the person's picture down Dr. Christina Wong who made the end of life of…read morefor My dog! horrible and for myself. Stay away from her if you don't wanna risk a bad experience because she doesn't care what she says to you and she didn't care about your dog she's just on a power trip I'll post your picture again it's always available on the site for Sage Campbell I will go to a different location I will never go back to Sage ER I would go to the radiation I would go to the neurology department. But don't let any receptionist to give you a hard time because at Campbell they do that sometime summer night so just be aware and if you've got a dog towards the end of life I would not come here in thousand years if I had known what a horrible person would do and how poorly she can handle an important situation. I feel horrible for My dog! still and the abuse was very obvious and I had I called I spoke to the owner of the stage hospitals and she agreed but I haven't heard back so I am gonna call her. My dog! deserved better than this. And your dog does too. I write this solely as my own experience and this is all allegedly of course. When someone behaves below what a veterinarian should behave like there is a standard for arm to be reliable and honest. Christina lied to my face after insulting me and that was just a red flag. It's important that your vet act like a team with you and the nurses. Being discriminated against as a horrible experience and I honestly don't even know why. If they check the records I'm a very attentive parent. I spoke to MVM and they said she's been there for a long time so she is protected so that sounds like a systematic issue to me. I was really disappointed I loved the other doctors the other departments Dr. Vitale Dr. Arcan Dr. cornerman the doctor that helped me in Redwood City just wonderful. It was just very unfortunate that I took Chloe to hear. She was a good dog and deserved a dignified death. This was anything but that. If your dog is old and sick you may want to take it to a different location Redwood City has been renovated and it's huge also MedVet is right next-door and I have never had an issue there either so this is just for others and you can go with what ever you like but I felt navigation to let you know my personal experience which I found astoundingly disturbing. When someone's lying and discouraging your dog I don't know how you defend them. I have always had dogs and I've seen a lot of vets and most of them would be horrified f their staff discriminated and was abusive and actually seemed to discriminate against me and was too aggressive for My dog!. My dog! was super smart and could understand what people were saying the poor thing tries to stand up and she yells oh you think that's good you know what if she had not said anything we may have gotten that dog to stand up. I don't know what's wrong with people but as a vet you should be held to a higher standard and most of my vets like I said would be horrified if it happened in their practice. Also I don't like liars I'm like a lie detector and she did say that My dog! look like it was dead and when I said that was a nice she said well we all think so and after that she proceeded to tell me that she didn't say that that she said something medical. That's called a lie. You shouldn't lie because you always get caught nice her attitude was so bad I really regret leaving mu dog! with her. I needed a calm experienced person that to help my dog! not this craziness. It's inexcusable and it has to be called out and corrected. People shouldn't go through that especially with the price that they're paying. Sage seems to lack empathy in the ER department they've hung up on me they have basically been the weirdest unit I have ever dealt with being closed one night and yelling at me that they had lots of sick dogs. I don't think they handle stress well or have the equipment they need or whatever that's why I was recommending I would city or MedVet because both are calm cool and collected and the priority is the patient and not only treating them but treating them like a real living Creature who can hear what you say who knows when you're giving her mother a hard time even if she is sick. It really disgust me personally allegedly this happened this is my experience and really it just felt like a throat punch. MedVet next door will not treat you like that. Also the people and Staff at the Redwood city Sage which has just been remodeled is full of very nice confident people I had a great experience there with an internist I will review later but A+ to them. My dog! may be old and may be dying perhaps but to be treated so cruelly by women giving My dog!'s mom a hard time as an excuse she should really take a hard look at herself https://share.google/kfq27rF9shkOUKjvq

After all, it was just an ear infection and everyone knows its not a huge deal and just requires drops. The first red flag was the phone call. The receptionist was laughing hysterically at some background joke and could barely give me directions, yet couldn't bother to put me on hold and compose herself. I had to tell her I couldn't understand her. It was really unprofessional. When I arrived, the clinic was nearly empty. Another client who came in after me was seen first, while I was still sitting there waiting with my dog in the back. That person came and went yet I was till there. The vet eventually confirmed the ear infection and said they'd clean it and send me home with ear drops, as I figured. For some reason, I continued to wait almost another full hour with no explanation (total visit 2 hours). I was still sitting there waiting after paying the bill until I finally had to insist they return my dog to me because I had work in the morning and i wouldn't get home till 1am. The bill was absolutely outrageous for basic care, even at an emergency vet: Around $600 total..... for a simple ear infection! Breakdown: * $255 emergency fee (no issue here, I understand the premium for the emergency visit) However.... * $83 to irrigate the ear * $154 to look in a microscope * $100 for the ear drops. These exact same ear drops (Baytril Otic 15ml) sell for $25 on Chewy. A 400% mark up over retail??? Worse still, the overpriced drops were not the correct meds and didn't even work. A week later I had to go to my regular vet and spend even more to actually clear the infection which SAGE failed to do, though thankfully, my regular vet didn't rip me off like SAGE did. This was price gouging combined with poor service. I will never return and strongly recommend others go elsewhere for emergencies. Read the other 1-3 star reviews for similar experiences.

Our most recent visit our cat got a sticky (glue) fly trap stuck to him, which may seem like a silly thing to bring a cat to emergency for... but the level of freaked out that he was, we were having difficulty handling him, and he was bleeding and we couldn't determine from where. I called to ask for advice on how to handle the situation, which they gladly gave. The person at the front desk even called me back after she talked to a technician and had additional information for me! We ended up taking him in, as we just couldn't get things under control on our own and he was clearly in a lot of pain. A technician took him back to assess him quickly, got him cleaned up, located the source of the bleeding and cleaned his wounds. And of course he was an angel for her... (why can't he be like that for me?!?!). Once again, everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful, and efficient. They never minimize what you're dealing with... if they thought it was silly reason to be there, they sure didn't make it seem that way to me. They took our concerns seriously and were very supportive, and took excellent care of our cat. The other thing I really appreciate with the team here is that they aren't trying to add on or charge for unnecessary services. Costs are explained clearly and feel very fair. I haven't once felt like they were taking advantage of the emergency nature of a situation. Again... really good people here.
