I have definitely lost weight since only joining in August this year and my fitness level has improved. All staff are welcoming and knowledgeable, and it's great to have a gossip whilst exercising! There are also other classes that you can sign up to which can only enhance the sessions that you do daily. Saima is very helpful and wills you to exceed your limits! Would definitely recommend.

Horrible experience, be wary of shady practices…read more Old rusty equipment in the Reading, Berkshire facility. the sly management convinced me to stay for another 6 months last year instead of cancelling to wait for the "upgrades" to their equipment which was a utter lie, as it's been 18 months from that date and 0 equipment upgrades. The facilities are dirty and the gym is ridiculously priced for their offering 1/5 value for money, 1/5 for equipment standards, 2/5 hygiene. What's worse is management is deceptive and trying to exit a contract is disgustingly hard (you need it in writing), they probably do this intentionally to lock people into their terrible gym contract. Why would anyone go here when there are now so many alternatives popping up all over Reading. Please give you money to companies that actually reinvest into the facilities.

The gym is dirty, dingy and hot. There is constantly dust and dirt floating about on the floors and there was once a piece of chewed gum stuck to a wall for over two months. Just goes to show the level of care and cleanliness at this gym: none. I feel like the staff spend more time chatting and having a fun time than keeping the gym nice and taking care of clients. On over half the classes I took, the instructors showed up late and then spent several minutes chatting with the regulars and setting up before starting the class - never an apology. Many people would then have to leave the class early in order to get back to work on time or to make an appointment. The locker rooms are dirty and gross, don't walk in there with bare feet! The towels are old and threadbare and often they are out of them so you can't get a towel at all. The overall look of the gym is dark and depressing and the equipment is old and smelly. The mats are falling apart and you will literally have pieces on your clothes after class. There is nothing motivating or that draws you to go to the gym. I had gone to the Nuffield in Newbury and what a difference! For the price, the Reading gym should be at least as nice and clean as the Newbury gym. I've just noticed too that they've raised their monthly rates! Seriously ridiculous.

You have all the things you need to get a good work out. Free weights, weight machines and every type of cardio you could think of. It even has a rolling set of steps if you want to use them. Like most gyms, it's really busy between 6pm and 9pm. As it's 24 hour if you can stomach a late or early workout it's really quiet. I get in early to use the free weights and it's empty enough to get straight to what I want. They also provide classes and personal trainers. The PT's are put up on the wall as you enter so you can see a face, name and their expertise straight up. Manic at peak times, would recommend early or late sessions if you can and want to get the most out of it. Cheap monthly payments and no contract either!

Normally they…read morehave student memberships that can be paid monthly so that you don't have to commit during periods when you won't be at school; however, if you're an international student they don't let you use this option because you need a UK bank (you have to pay 3 months upfront which is inconvenient because term is 8 weeks long). The gym was always clean but I often found it pretty busy and had to wait for machines to free up.
