The bad Lack of communication on all employees on the receipt it was not written in detail what I wanted on my car so I ended up wasting one day and coming back the next it was an inconvenience and then when you come in, you get attitude from the employees also parts were missing from my install and was not given the box for my subwoofer Good It's been five days and the installation is perfect. They did a great job on rewiring my car, making sure everything is nice. I'm very satisfied with the install. My car sounds great. read more

Dennis, the manager here, needs to be really REALLY looked into. Let me go through my experience so people understand how beyond untrustworthy this "manager" is and how he does business. Ok so I called before-hand and asked how much it would cost to put in new speakers which I had already bought. Dennis on the phone asks me what kind of car I have and quotes me $85-100 for installation. I was good with that and went in the next day. The young hispanic guy at shop came out and looked at my car and said it would instead be $250. I told him I was quoted half that max and said I will take it somewhere else. Then he asks an older hispanic guy if they can give me a better price. The older guy says $180 as it's complicated. I agree and they take the car to the back for install. I wait 2.5 hours and then Dennis strolls in and says they misquoted me and it would be $300 instead because they have to take out the backseat to get to the speakers in the back. I asked if they even started the work yet? Dennis says his guy was "just getting to it". I tell him I got 4 different prices from different people there and he says, "they don't know, I run this place" . I am annoyed with this nonsense and I tell him to just forget it. Dennis then says he can have just front speakers installed for $100 and will have his guy do it quickly. I said ok and then waited ANOTHER hour. While waiting, I spoke to another customer in the waiting area and he said they quoted him $450 for work on his car but after he brought his car in, Dennis told him it would be $800. Seriously DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE unless you like getting ripped off. Whoever the owner is needs to hire a manager who is not all about BLATANTLY RIPPING PEOPLE OFF! read more

Loved Shantill! Easily found the harness I need for my old sony stereo that was also from this shop years ago! Definitely recommend!

Long story short. Had some aftermarket fog lights installed on my vehicle by these dudes. They installed them successfully but refused to use the switch my fog light kit actually came with, so their "make-shift" switch eventually got a short in it and stopped working. Went back to Advanced to have it fixed with the EXACT PART one of their employees literally showed me to purchase, only for him to accuse me, (the customer) of getting the wrong part and told me it wouldn't work, with attitude I might add. The owner then came up with a ridiculous idea for me to repurchase the entire $150 fog light kit again, just so they can use the switch that they refused to use in the first place, and for me to send the rest of the kit back after. Crazy suggestion for an owner that wasn't aware of the Mickey Mouse job his employees did the first time around. Craziest part was, I took it to a different shop and they completely fixed the issue no problem within 30 minutes with the EXACT SAME switch Advanced employees said WOULD NOT work for my vehicle. Bottom line is, I'd wisely choose a different shop entirely for all of your electrical/car audio needs. read more

I came here because several years ago my F150 Lightning was experiencing some issues with the audio. At that time, I spent considerable time, effort and money in my audio system. My mechanic recommended Advanced Car Stereo. The issue was a bad cable and was repaired within an hour. Fast forward several years....I have a Dodge Magnum SRT 8 that I purchased new in 2008 and have enjoyed it immensely. I decided to keep it, so I had the engine rebuilt and a complete suspension rebuilt front to back. I had been amassing the best components I could find for a few years including the alarm system. I decided to try Advanced Car Stereo in Montclair again which turned out to be one of the worst decisions I have made in several years. The system sounds fantastic, no issues there, but the workmanship is what you would expect to see in third world country. I have attached pictures to backup all my claims. I have not returned there as I am that pissed off; besides I have no confidence in their installers. I am puzzled how the management could let this poor quality work out of their shop, no bueno. My detail guy came over to see my Magnum, he could not believe the shoddy workmanship and has agreed to try and fix as much of this as possible. I brought my Dodge Challenger to this location one morning and previously had a sound system on the vehicle in the past but hadnt drove my car in years and for some reason i had no sound not sure if i needed a new kit, re-wiring or new speakers? The young man said "Im not sure what work was done to this car but its gna definately take me some time to figure it out and pull everything out we do charge $180 per hour not including the costs of the work & labor .. if you wanna get it done youll have to drop off your car and well call you in a few hours with an update". Not even an attorney charges this much per hour, is this even legal? Im beginning to question their license. Of coarse i didnt leave my car with these WEAZELS!! We went here for a boat stereo. They overcharged and it still doesn't work properly even after going back for them to fix it. Do your research. They do not seem to know much more than maybe cars. They should be honest with their knowledge. Do not recommend. 3000$ for installation with no new cuts or wiring. Ridiculous. read more

I took my bmw in to get projector lights installed, Dennis helped me. We pick out the lights he says he's giving me a deal, bam, 1,400$ okay so fast forward to me bringing the car in the FIRST time. I leave my car there for 5-6 hours no biggie, I'm so excited for the lights.. I get a call it's Dennis the wrong lights got shipped in and he has to order the new ones.. NO BIG DEAL, things happen. Fast forward to time number TWO, it's my second time bringing the car in super excited they got the right lights in, let's go baby.. again I go occupy myself while the car gets worked on... 8 hours later,,, I walk in get told they were having difficulties they need more time... annoyed at this point I just want my car. They put it together for me to bring back a third time.. this is where it gets good okay pay close attention.. I'm pulling off, I look the right bam my windshield is busted, alrighty, here we go back and I'm furious at this point. I walk in expressing my displeasure fast forward the whole staff around minus Ray who rolled his eyes and stormed off expressing his un willingness to have a conversation with me, the ones who were call Dennis, I'll spare you the details and make it short and sweet. Dennis says he'll replace the windshield he said the same one.. and give me some money back on the installation of the lights. Time number THREE here we go I'm over it at this point and rather just have a refund. I'm there all day again, you get it at this point I go occupy myself spending money on Uber and what have you for the third time... come to get the car, surprise surprise, not the same manufactured bmw glass nor is it the same tint as the rest of the car, at this point okay I just want to leave and not deal with these people. Dennis give la me 500$ back. We're now in march, so what close to a month has went by? The front lights stopped working.. am I surprised? Not in the least.. this ladies and gentlemen is my experience/ story time about how I spent $900 to be traumatized. Installed a dash cam here. Didn't check yelp for reviews, but I should have. Would have saved me time and $. The initial quote on the dash cam install was decent but when you get into the store, the price DOUBLE. The installation was not working in parked mode and they just keep blaming on the dash cam. So essentially not working as agreed. Took it back the same day showing them the video on how the dash cam should work in parked mode and instead of fixing it, they said that the day is booked and asked that you come back the next day, even though the floor and back warehouse was empty. I went to 6 different audio stores in the local area and NONE... NOT ONE... had the selection or the expertise or even the enthusiasm to sell me speakers... one salesman/installer at a shop in Pomona (off of Holt and Mills) was even on drugs... As i was going to Best Buy (which sucks, as well) i saw Advance Car Stereo and figured, why not... not that boy did they have the speakers i wanted but they also advised me as to the type i should get.... Now,, i am no expert and speakers or anything like that so when the sale rep, Adam, met with me, he sat me down and planned out a set of speakers i would like... as he was doing that, i researched them online and sure enough, he was telling me the truth and selling me the bundle at a cheaper rate than if i bought them online... so i gave them more of my business and will be a loyal customer to them for their honesty. Called yesterday for a new stereo head unit and mobile service. Quoted 1 price that was really high, few minutes later received a call from a different sales man from the same shop said he can do it cheaper.. agreed to a price. Installer arrived at my residence and began installing the stereo. moments later he stated to me he broke off a chrome emblem from my dash area on my 1957 classic bel-air show car. He then continued with the install, when he was done i noted him to take off really fast while i was looking at my car. i then noticed the dash where he pulled my old radio out was completely scratched ( this is a painted custom dash) and after getting my car fully detailed for a next day car show he left dirt, foot prints and debris in the passenger side floor board. Outside the car he left old wires, old electrical tape and misc caps on the ground next to my car..... VERY unprofessional. didnt even clean up his install mess when he left.
