He'll even show you a better way to floss and keep your teeth healthy if you're having issues. Truly a gem among dentists! But it can be a bit of a maze from hell trying to navigate your way through the main building's front door. My suggestion would be to take the entrance on Pugh St just past the Red Cross office, from there its a straight shot down the hall two to three doors down!

I went, and was very happily surprised. The office is easy to find, parking is sufficient, and the inside is very clean and modern. During the current Covid pandemic, patient safety is obviously a high priority as well, with a quick phone interview asking relevant questions, and a temperature checks at your car before you enter the building. All the hygienists we've seen are very friendly and courteous, answering any questions you have. They're also great with kids, as our daughter has gone for the past 4 years and loves it. Having a toddler eager to go to the dentist is not an experience I've heard from others very often, but ours is, which is a testament to their care. One other review mentioned that Dr. Anderton has turned into a greedy businesswoman, due to her not taking the insurance anymore (I assume it's the Penn State dental insurance). I know a little about the situation, and it's definitely not her fault. The issue, as I understand it, is that the insurance changed to require dentists to use some material for cavity fillings that tend to degrade, while Dr. Anderton insists on using high-quality fillings. That led to her not being accepted into the network. However, you can still be reimbursed from an HSA if you have one. In short, Dr. Anderton is the best dentist me, or my family, has ever had, and we'll be her happy patients for as long as we can.

I'm a travel healthcare worker at UPMC Altoona, I'm not a local resident. I developed an infected…read moremolar due to a crack from a popcorn seed. I was in a decent amount of pain and the tooth needed attention quickly. I called around to several places and this Tipton/Tyrone clinic was the only place that could get me in within a couple days. They confirmed the infection with an xray and at that time ibuprofen was sufficient to keep the pain at bay. The earliest they could get me in for a root canal or possible extraction was 4 weeks. Two weeks later the abscessed tooth became painfully intolerable. I called the clinic and pleaded for assistance. I lucked out and they had a cancellation and got me in the next day. I'm 47 years old and have never even had a cavity. Tooth pain and dental procedures were foreign to me. The dentist determined the crack was only into the pulp and the tooth could be saved with a root canal. The infected area was very swollen and painful. They had to numb the area for the procedure and I literally hollered out and full blown tears cried. I was embarassed. I'm a large dude with tattoos and into motorcylces. Crying in public ain't my thing. The doc was sympathetic and reassured me I did a great job for the remainder of the procedure. My ego appreciated this. He got the tooth all opened up, infection drained out, and filled in with what I guess is some kind of dental Bondo. He shaped up the filling material so as the tooth wouldn't cause pain when teeth are clenched. Put in a script for antibiotics and pain managment. Scheduled me for a crown placement in about a month. I was very grateful for how quickly they got me in and worked with me to get me some relief. The doc fully explained the procedure before and after which included him illustrating what was done with the before and after radiology images. He said something that I really appreciated. He based his treatment decisions for my tooth on what he would want done for his own. That's an excellent medical philosophy. This clinic has two dentists and they are father and daughter. I think that's pretty cool. They have an excellent support staff. I am very grateful for the treatment provided, their medical competency, and their compassion in dealing with me being a bit of a whuss. Ha! Highly recommend this clinic.

When I called I was given an immediate appointment for the next day, which was quite surprising. I scheduled for the next morning. In the meantime, I had been watching my senior cat becoming more ill by the day. The next morning I decided I could no longer let my cat suffer and decided to put him to sleep. At 7:30 am, I called the dentist office to cancel my appointment. I explained about needing to put my cat to sleep. She didn't care. She put me on hold and came back on the line laughing! Saying I couldn't get another appointment until October! How can one day differ so much? The day before I could get in the next day. The next day, I couldn't be scheduled until Oct 2021. I believe she was deliberately making me wait Bc I cancelled my appointment. My cat was more important to me at the time and she treated me rudely and without any normal human emotion.

They are very prompt with time, the office is incredibly clean, and everyone is just so friendly. You can tell that he genuinely loves what he does and he cares about treating each patient.
