He is so kind, patient, friendly so positive and is always genuinely happy to see you. He is extremely knowledgeable and always takes the time to educate you, and explain where your teeth are in the journey. He has the biggest heart and truly wants all of his patients to be successful in their orthodontic journey. Dr. Peterson is also a perfectionist when it comes to the end result of your orthodontic journey. He wants your teeth to be perfect, and in my experience good enough wasn't good enough...they had to be perfect. They called and canceled multiple appointments I had scheduled due to never having anyone in the office able to perform a deep clean. This happened at least 4-5 times! Well because of the deep cleaning that took so long to finally have done they ruined a part of my gums. During the actual process of them removing the tartar from my teeth, tartar was pushed down further into my gums which over time irritated my gums and caused infection. This eventually lead to my gums receding and now I have to get a skin graft to fix the area that was damaged. I would not recommend this dentist to anyone as I feel like they really don't care about the patients and more about what benefits them.

I was very nervous about the switch mid-treatment at the time-- but it turned out to be the best fortune for me, my teeth and my family. Dr. Thornton has excellent listening skills and is conservative in his approach (he does not over treat). My teeth turned out beautiful and it was always a joy to come to the appointments as the entire staff are friendly and good at keeping busy adults and kids on schedule without drama. I later sent my daughter to Dr. Thorton for braces and to fix a tooth that was stuck in the wrong position. She is now 16 with a fantastic smile. She was always happy with her treatment. We have one more teen who will need some minor treatment soon. I wouldn't consider anyone else. Kids who attend Roosevelt and South can easily walk to appointments after school. In all, Thorton Orthodontics deserves a hearty five gold stars.
