Waste Management Google Review I just received an email…read morenotice that Waste Management would not be making its Mon. Jan. 24 garbage pick-up for my location, but rather, it's been virtually cancelled altogether in favor of just picking everything up on the next scheduled pick-up date of Jan. 31. Unfortunately, though it works well to resolve WM's dilemma, it exacerbates mine. Since both of my garbage receptacles are full and waiting to be picked up on Jan. 30, this arrangement poses a major logistics dilemma & personal inconvenience on several levels. First, the question is where to accumulate & place all of this week's garbage with no available containers? This becomes more acute because typically, I exhaust my 10 bag limit due to the number of cats we keep indoors during the winter. Anyone who owns indoor cats is aware that despite the durability of your garbage bags, used cat litter is like placing concrete blocks inside plastic bags. Secondly, I have a 500' driveway, so I will have to transport these bags to curbside, making multiple trips in my car, with a likely possibility that a bag might experience breakage; not a comforting thought. Once my bags arrive at the pickup site, I will have approx. 10 exposed bags that will be manually handled & deposited into the truck. I've yet to witness a worker handling a garbage bag with care or caution. On the few occasions that we've placed a bag outside of the garbage receptacles, bags have gotten ripped, leaving a mess for the residents, rather than trash pickup workers to clean up. What's the likelihood for this to occur with 10 bags loaded full of used cat litter? Hmm. None of this is WM's problem, I guess. But even if that's the case, I am still being charged the exact same amount for this month's pickups and servicing despite 1 less pickup. Since WM is will be making 1 less pick-up to my location, that must certainly translate into less gas, overhead, labor and overall cost to collect our garbage. The only additional expense I see is residents' inconvenience. WM would argue that it's weather-related & out of their control and next week's run will be twice as difficult. Though there may be some truth to that, consider this: If you hired an individual to mow your lawn on a weekly basis, but Week 1 they didn't show, but on Week 2 when they mowed, they demanded to be paid for both weeks because the grass had grown twice as much & the lawn mower had to work harder, would you be okay with that? That's basically WM's position. Finally, while I'm at it, I might as well address one more annoying & persistent issue I've experienced with WM. On several occasions, I have phoned them and complained about how my emptied garbage receptacles are consistently left nearly lying on the road by the trash workers. Ours is a rather busy road with a 55 mph speed limit, so this is predominantly a safety concern, not an inconvenience. Once again, it seems my concerns have fallen upon deaf ears because every week I find my garbage receptacles left on the edge of the road. Honestly, I'm not certain why I've bothered to take the time to compose this review. Perusing thru the overabundance of other negative reviews, I consistently observe the same lame WM responses, "We're sorry to hear this," or "This is not how we want you to feel." WM always follows these statements with the limp suggestion to email us and we'll look into your concern. I think this might be WM's most pathetic and hollow gesture for servicing its customers of all. Hey, Waste Management, spare me the wasted words and deliver to me another garbage receptacle, expense-free. How about that as a useful solution for my dilemma? Unfortunately, there's always a price for running a sloppy, profit-driven, non-service oriented business. In July of 2020, the city of Wooster replaced WM with another company to handle its waste collection services. I wonder if WM walked away from that situation, receiving only an anemic apology & recommendation to email the City of Wooster about this issue.

***Horrible customer service*** They increased their rates by over $100 this year and when I went…read moreto cancel service, they made up $112 worth of charges including a $75 fee to come pick up the trash can they delivered to my house for $15 3 years ago. When I called in September, they refused to adjust any of the charges and stated they discontinued the discounts they previously gave to customers who paid in-full for the year. they know that if you don't pay their BS fees, they'll just send it to collections. Go with someone else, these folks aren't worth it. see below for canned customer service rep comment:
