Booked on Priceline for $97 when I got there it came out to $250. They make you go in a booth, the customer service rep on the screen asked to see my insurance which I showed him and then insisted that I had to get their insurance though my coverage met requirements. I experienced them doing this to another customer which I have video evidence of. A week later they charged my card $181 saying it was for tolls when I took the street routes my entire trip making sure to not go through tolls or get on any hi ways. They have not provided an invoice from Sun Pass showing charges or me going through tolls, just charged my card. This fraudulent and scamming seems to be a regular business practice of theirs. I plan to legally pursue this matter. Please report any fraudulent charges and illegal practices you have experienced with them to all of the following. This place is an absolutely dumpster fire! It took over two hours to get a car here even though we booked a reservation but at the end of the day, it took an hour and it was a big hassle to return the vehicle. Most of it is to blame by poor customer service..... I had a newer used vehicle with about 30k miles on it but the brakes were rusted out and the tires were leaking.... I was overcharged for a fuel surcharge that shouldn't exist and I was charged an extra day for the vehicle which isn't true. Avoid this place at all cost. Complete disappointment.... Stick with Enterprise. Do not go to a second class car rental company. I normally rent with Enterprise when i fly in and out of MCO however this car was 100 plus cheaper so I went with that. 1. Advantage is not located with the normal other rental cars, you basically go up to the parking garage to find it 2. They charge you 9.99 a day for a toll pass regardless of if you use it or not. It is insanity. Considering Enterprise charges 3.95 a day ONLY on the days you use it. So long story short, I paid an additional 70.00 in toll charges, so right there I should have went with Enterprise. 3. Getting out of the garage when you're at Advantage is super confusing, makes no sense and two of us ended up going through an area where you had to pay 17.00 and we had to explain we were renting cars. 4. My car was dirty, no one looked at it for dents before, there was some sort of yellow paint on it and it was just gross. 5. This car started to display "low tire pressure" after 45 minutes on the phone I was able to get them to bring me another car. That was fine. 6. The new car had no windshield wiper fluid at all and somehow in doing that transfer of cars they claimed i no longer "prepaid for gas" when I took the car back. So they charged me 8.00 for using 5 miles worth of gas. Go back to Enterprise. read more

DO NOT EVER USE. SHOULD CHANGE THEIR NAME TO SCAM-A-CAR! Alright, brace yourselves because this is going to be a long post but it's worth reading every word. This is a HORRIBLE place and extremely unprofessional. I wish there was a rating for 0 because that's what they deserve. My husband and I found Advantage through Priceline for our recent vacation. The prices were great and we were able to book with ease. When we landed at MCO, all we had to do was text the phone number they provided to let them know we had arrived and to wait for our shuttle. The number we texted didn't work. Instead of having a 10 digit code, it was 11 with an extra "3" on the end. My husband tried texting the # with both the 3 and without -- nothing worked. He called the number we had on file and immediately the customer service rep asked us if we removed the "3" from the end of the number and to try texting again. First, this is a completely foolish thing to ask after someone explains to you that the number THEY provided doesn't work. Instead of just taking care of us on the phone, they insisted we try to text. When we did this and it still didn't work, they reluctantly told us where to stand to find our shuttle. It took close to 30 minutes for the shuttle to arrive. The driver from Wally Park was wonderful --- aka the only good thing to come out of this whole experience. Advantage, here's a tip: make sure you provide your customers the CORRECT information before they land. Just food for thought. When we arrived at Advantage, there were about 2 or 3 families ahead of us. They have social distant markers on the floor, which EVERYWHERE else in the country represents a line, but not Advantage! Families ahead of us stood in line for a few minutes before an employee told them to sign in on a blank piece of paper lying on the counter. No signs, no instructions -- just hoping someone writes their name on a random piece of paper. Good policy. After we signed in, we waited for about 40 minutes to finally talk to someone. Remember, there were only 2-3 people ahead of us and we waited for almost an hour! When we were called up, everything seemed fine and then after standing up there for about 20 minutes, going over the agreed upon price we booked at, the employee hit us with an unannounced $250 deposit for renting the car for one week. NO WHERE on the paperwork they sent us or Priceline was this stated. If this is normal procedure, then it should be stated UP FRONT and everywhere else their customers can book. $250 is a lot of additional money to spring on someone! This excludes us finding out last minute that they might not accept our debit card, forcing us to use a credit card. So if you're at your limit on your credit card or don't have one, don't take the risk going here because you'll be screwed with no warning. After complaining about this hidden deposit (which I've never be this expensive at ANY other car rental place), he lowered it to $150 for the week. Fine - at least that's more comparable with other places. While deposits are normal at car rental places, $250 is extreme - that is a warning that should be listed somewhere so people can make an informed decision. It wasn't just us who were annoyed at trying to get a car. The next to me was just as frustated, finally saying to the guy behind the counter, "Will you just tell me how much the car costs!?" They give us the key and we walk out to our car. They make you review your car for any damages and they return the survey back to them. Fine. We put our luggage in and I sat in the car while my husband returned the slip. While I'm in the car, an employee taps on the window and asks if we're the car needing plates. I have no idea, so my husband comes out and we find out we need plates in order to use Sunpass. Fine, no big deal. About 10 minutes go by and the employee says they don't have the tools he needs to add a license plate to the car. A CAR RENTAL PLACE DOESN'T HAVE THE TOOLS TO ADD A LICENSE PLATE TO A RENTAL CAR. Figure that one out. We get out of the car and the employee says we need to go back inside and tell the customer service rep. Only, the customer service rep has NO IDEA what we're talking about. He has to go back to his manager to sort everything out. Keep in mind, by this point, we've been at Advantage TRYING to get a car and leave for nearly 2 hours. They finally all get on the same page and gave us a free SVU upgrade due to the situation. We landed at MCO at 11:00am; We didn't get on the road to our hotel until almost 2:00pm. Absolutely insane. The car we rented was great -- roomy, satellite radio, etc. Returning the car was relatively easy. They have someone at the gate if it's after hours and you just leave the key in the vehicle. Because it was so early in the morning, a shuttle was already there so we had no wait. On our first day, the employees kept telling guests that shuttles come every 5-10 minutes which is absolutely not true from our experience. read more

Hello. I am writing because I was beyond disappointed with the way my family went through the rental process. I placed our order on Thursday, May 25 through your website after speaking to Danny on the phone. We scheduled our pick up for Saturday, May 27 at 7 pm. I paid our bill in full with my MasterCard. Once we were through the check in process, we were told to head to the garage. It was approximately 7 pm. Upon arriving in the garage, there was another family with two small children also waiting. We were immediately told, "it would be a while." After approximately 1 hour, no one was any closer to letting us know when we were getting a car, or when it would be available. I asked for a manager. After another 20 minutes, a car was finally brought up. I asked for the manager again, and the man told me he was "kind of a supervisor." He said that I should not be upset, and that sometimes they just can't make people happy. I am extremely displeased with our service, and once the car is returned we will not be using your company again. I will also be giving you poor reviews on social media. Needed a rental car to get down to the Keys for 2 nights. The insurance products available were easy to understand and the lady that helped us got us a cooler car because upgrading to a Camaro with built in GPS was the same price as an economy car with a rented GPS unit. We enjoyed the trip in a cool car and when we returned it there were no issues and they even offered to drive us to Disney World afterwards as we were heading there. read more

Advantage Rent-A-Car had the best rate when I went on Expedia. I went ahead and book my car. That night when I got to the airport they had a car that was promised but the sales rep running the front window at the Orlando international airport told me that if I wanted I could do a one time $10 charge to use the tolls. I said I'm not going to use the tolls he insisted that I take it because it was only a one time $10 charge. I went ahead and signed up for it when I got my final bill I noticed it was a lot higher than what I was quoted online when I question it the sales rep told me that it was the Orlando sales tax. Frustrated I went to my car sat in there and read contract I noticed that it was a $10 a day charge not a $10 one time charge. I went to the two guys sitting in the box down in the airport by the cars I explain to them my situation they told me that yeah it's a $10 a day charge. I told the gentleman that I did not want this to please remove it from my contract they made a phone call try to talk me in the keeping It. I said no please remove it and they did and guess what my bill went down to what I was promised online. The moral of the story is make sure you read your contract and if something is suspicious you asked for a manager don't trust the people working at the front desk in the airport. read more

Walked in, and the extremely helpful staff were able to set me up with a car right away. No hassles, just signed and away I went. The car was new, smelled good and clean. Do not rent from this company. They will screw you out if $10 per day for some kind of Toll Road Pass or charge you $25 per day if you use a toll road. You can get a pass at Walgreens for $4.99, but they won't tell you that. If you call them they say "there's nothing we can do" and will charge you later. If you explain the situation and how this must happen to tourists every day, they will hang up on you. If they answer the phone at all.
