I came to the ER back in February due to extreme nausea and abdominal pain after being sick for 10 days with a mysterious GI problem. ER doc and NP had shrugged it off as possible gastroenteritis and anxiety and had discharged me home. My symptoms improved for a bit and then suddenly got worse three weeks later to the point where I was unable to eat anything without getting extremely nauseous immediately and experiencing the worst abdominal pain so I checked back into the ER Turns out I had pancreatitis and was admitted for 4 days and had the loveliest nurses and Drs during my stay. In particular I had a wonderful night nurse for 3/4 nights I was there. I'd recommend this hospital for those who are seeking emergency medical care read more

Zero stars. If you value privacy, dignity, compassion, or even basic communication in a medical setting, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. I called ahead to confirm they could do specific blood testing and was left with the impression I'd actually get answers that day. Due to the urgency and my concern of being contagious, I went in. I spent roughly 4 hours being shuffled between waiting room chairs, open hallways, repeated testing I had already told admission and staff that I completed earlier that week, and staff who often acted more irritated than concerned. I had a cough and chose to wear a mask out of consideration to others at close proximity in the small waiting room. I repeatedly explained to staff that I had already just completed chest X-rays, EKG and COVID/flu/strep testing at my Dr's office TWO days prior, but I was continuously pressured into repeating testing after being told I couldn't be "properly evaluated" or "things can change in a couple days" otherwise. Yet, the ONE thing I specifically came there for -- the blood test -- still wasn't resolved that day, and I was later told results would take another 3-4 days anyway! The level of privacy here was honestly shocking. I was openly questioned about personal medical information -- including where I was born and my vaccination history -- within earshot of staff, security guards, and nearby patients sitting just feet away. Even worse, I was asked to LOWER MY MASK in the middle of a crowded waiting room so they could perform nasal swabs in front of everyone. Then when I expressed my disbelief, I was gestured to follow the nurse only a few feet away into an open hallway near the front desk for a throat swab where I was gagging and coughing publicly while strangers walked by!! Absolutely no sense of privacy or infection control. It genuinely felt less like a hospital and more like a chaotic transit station where medical testing was being done out in the open. The (waiting room) bathroom used for urine samples was filthy, financial discussions happened openly in public areas, and most of the visit felt more like a cash grab assembly line than actual patient care. After all of that, I was basically given a few unrelated guesses, prescribed meds I didn't need (one of which was dangerous to a heart condition I told them I had) and sent back out into the waiting room to sit even longer for discharge paperwork. At that point I walked out regretting not walking out immediately at the beginning. What makes this even more frustrating is that I sent the hospital a detailed letter the very next day expressing my concerns about the lack of privacy and overall treatment during my visit -- and not a single person reached out afterward by phone or email. No acknowledgment, no follow-up, nothing. Reading the other reviews was eye-opening because my experience clearly was not an isolated incident. There are far too many hospitals and urgent care facilities to settle for treatment like this. I absolutely regret choosing this ER. read more

Came here because it was the closest to where I live when I started having what felt like another heart attack (widow maker from blockage in the arteries). They listened to my past history and even though they were short staffed in the emergency room, they definitely took care of me. It turned out to be another blockage and they handled it quickly. Ive been here since Monday night through today Wed. I am really impressed with how caring and friendly the staff is. Every single one I encountered were this way. They showed caring in a very aloha spirit way. This is my hospital now. Ive been to great hospitals, but to me this the best Ive ever been to. There are only two critical areas of service when choosing a good place to seek medical help: Knowledgeable Staff and the Mission of the Hospital you seek. It was about 1 AM when a family member needed an ER diagnosis for extreme abdominal pain and rectal bleeding. Her toilet bowl was flushing red and the excretion was continuous and ongoing. So, the closest we can recommend was our nearby ER, the Adventist Simi Valley Hospital, a small medical hospital near home. I've worked with many but these folks seemed to be knowledgeable, well-trained, highly-skilled and most of all, kind and calm in the middle of an emergency. Without much of the HIPAA issues, I read the mission and vision of this small hospital and came to understand why they were all focused like laser on their excellent patient service. From the Charge RN to the Ultrasound Tech to their ER Specialists, they were kind, sweet and know the 411 of patient care and support. Let's leave it at this for you guys to also try using this hospital which is rated as one of the best in the California area! read more

5 stars for ER Friday night shift 6:pm 11/14/25 . SPECTACULAR CARE Accidents happen: I dropped a cutting board on the top of my foot , left a gnarly knot and pain , so a visit to ER was inevitable . Friday night left my house 6:09. arrived 6:15ish. By 6:51 I had an x-ray and by 7:07 results, thankfully, hit at an angle to only cause contusions but no fracture or break . I lucked out. First thing I noticed how clean the hospital smelled , not weird chemically but organically like fresh air was being pumped in, maybe they cleaned their vents? that was impressive , ER's are usually the worst place in a hospital . The second thing I noticed was amount of staff and kind of how they triage and separate people who like me just need an x-ray and maybe/maybe not need further intervention . they keep the people with flu and cold symptoms separate from quick minor ER issues like mine . that was impressive . other hospitals should learn from this . Abundance of Admission, Triage Nursing & PA staff and they were so friendly and competent, they had the place running like clockwork. I don't think anyone was waiting longer than 45-60 min if you didn't need to see a doctor. Radiologist read my films , I sent x-rays to my personal doctor and all is good . The prognosis is good Ice & elevation for a few days and the tender spot should heal. This was the fastest and easiest and most pleasant accident and ER visit I ever experienced . I came in via an Ambulance, suffering from a HYPERTENSIVE EMERGENCY. My blood pressure had gone up to 230/117. I was immediately seen by an ER doctor who realized the seriousness of my situation. The VERY COMPETENT, PROFESSIONAL, Dr. McNiccoll spent time to go over my entire history and immediately found me a bed in the hospital. I cant commend him enough to ensure that I was given the extensive treatment I needed. I spent 3 days and two nights under the compassionate care of HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS. The cardiologist and Kidney expert worked 2 days adjusting my medications to find the right Blood Pressure medication for me. In addition, the Cardiologist had them take an Ultrasound of my Heart. The room was very nice and had just my one bed. I liked how I was allowed to close the door to get needed rest. I want to thank the entire staff of 2nd Floor Telemetry 2. CHRISTINA, Danica, Juanita, Arlene, Edric and JOSH. Thanks also to Nurse Michelle in the ER. SPECIAL THANKS TO DR. McNiccoll!!! I feel this WELL RUN hospital helped save my Heart and Life. I needed to update my review based on my recent experience at Adventist Health Simi Valley. I had a CT Heart Scan yesterday and the experience was incredible. Everything from the check in at the front desk to registration to the actual scan was outstanding. Johnny and Cindy took excellent care of me and kept me informed the entire time. They were both professional, caring and had a great sense of humor. I have never had a procedure done in a hospital before so I was a little nervous but the two of them made me feel comfortable and relaxed. Nice and clean yet it takes a bit to be called in the back. My step son had a broken finger and we waited more than expected.

I was recently hospitalized for hemorrhaging due to an extremely large uterus filled with fibroids. I had the unfortunate experience of seeing Dr Lee in the ER. This woman was beyond unprofessional and almost violent in the way she examined me. She treated me as if I were an animal and not a person in critical condition due to being extremely anemic and hemorrhaging. I received 4 blood transfusions in under 24 hours in the hospital. She also kept insisting she thought I had cancer without any other tests besides a CT scan with contrast that described the masses in my uterus as fibroids with a less than 1% chance of being sarcoma. I have since sought treatment at Cedar Sinai with a gynecologist/ oncologist who is extremely skilled. He has run cancer antigen tests which all do not show that any cancer is in my body. My surgery for a hysterectomy is Friday and pathology will still be performed to definitively rule out cancer. My surgeon however does not believe that the fibroids are cancerous at this time. Dr Lee also told me that I would be sliced vertically thru my abdomen and that it would be a very rough surgery. She described it as a "2 surgeon surgery". My surgeon at Cedar's disagrees. After speaking with the team at Cedar Sinai they told me that a bikini incision is all that will be necessary. Dr Lee left me on a bloody hospital bed after her "examination" where she behaved like an alarmist and handled me beyond roughly. I felt like I had been attacked, not examined. I will be following up with a formal complaint to the hospital. Run from Dr. Lee. read more

horrible facility to work for management dose not have your back and will throw you right out the door. Do not work in the ER they have their little clicks this leads to toxic behavior such as starting rumors and treating each other like crap management expects you to do two people's jobs because they refuse to hire enough staff. when these facts are brought up to management they just ignore you and don't return any messages. Management ignores staff burn out and refuses to provide enough equipment such as functional work phones and not enough gurneys. The hospital claims to be a stroke center but doesn't have a neurologist on staff. Management has closed down several units including the labor and delivery unit. Their solution to this shut down was to just urgently to a hospital that is at least 30 minutes away read more

I am sharing this as a parent because people deserve to know what happened to my daughter. After receiving care through Adventist Health, my daughter was placed on antipsychotic medications, and her condition changed drastically. Before this, she was High-Functioning, had interests, could communicate, and had a level of independence. Now, she has lost so much of who she was. Her interests are gone. She can no longer speak or form words clearly, which has been heartbreaking to witness. She never feels rested, and expressing herself has become extremely difficult. She now requires near full-time care, which is a complete change from her previous level of functioning. What is most concerning to me is that I feel these changes are being dismissed or not fully acknowledged. As a parent, I am asking serious questions about the impact of these medications and the care she received, and I am not getting the transparency or accountability I believe is necessary. I am not writing out of anger, but concern--for my daughter and for other families who may be going through something similar. Please do your research, ask question, and advocate strongly for your loved ones. If something doesn't feel right, dont ignore it. Its been six years since this happened and different drugs where given to her by different doctors, no monitoring was done instead they were in the back room celebrating the new year, she had to eventually be Intubated then contracted SEPSIS and Pneumonia which they kept from me and they had my oldest daughter sign consent forms which is illegal as I am her conservator. just want to thank, Dr. Nancy Sun Dr. Anthony Ho the pharmacist there and the Doctors who just dont care! how do they sleep at night and in cahoots with the PG SHAME ON YOU!!! I'd like to start by saying simi valley adventist has a kick a** emergency department . I definitely have no complaints about any of the staff there , from katlynn, bailey, gilberto brittany, cory, Jenn, danica and krystal, dr. Boone, Dr. Ho. And the drs who do the parasyntesis, you guys are the best, love you guys!! It's the upstairs staff, after you get admitted there seems to be a problem with! I have admittedly and repeatedly informed them I have an adverse effect when it comes to morphine. I have told everyone that it turns me into a violent raging c##t,that's the nicest way I can put it. With that in mind any medicine derived from morphine is going to affect me adveresely.. So I don't know what anybody expects. So now I ve been admitted,and honestly I have been as pleasant as anybody cause im still feeling the effects of the dilaudid. I'm all settled in and I go to sleep only to be woke up to a phlebotomist digging for gold in my hand, which, with as sensitive as hands are you can imagine how painful having someone digging in yours could be. I woke up up to this. told the guy to quit digging ,he tells me he's not, I say yes you are and try to pull my hand away from him ; he won't allow me too; I tell him to stop , he says no; i tell him to give me back my hand, he says no; I tell him I have the right to refuse to allow him to continue, he says no; I yell for him to get out of my room and that I do have the right to stop him from hurting me, he tells me to shut up. All the while he is still digging in my hand and refusing to let me go. By now im hysterical trying to get my hand back and yelling at him to get out of my room and he's just refusing . Not once did one nurse or nurses assistant come to my aid . I finally push the call button and beg them to get this man out of my room he's hurting me. It took another five minutes or so before anyone came to the doorway to see what was happening. All the while im still fighting with ceasar,his name, to get the needle out of my hand and to stop hurting me. I finally got my hand back from him and I just want him out of my room and do you know that nurse turned it around on me saying it was my fault he was hurting me. I couldn't believe what I was hearing and so I looked at her and told her I had the right to refuse him access to my hand and she told me I should just let him finish what he was doing . I told her no I wanted him out of my room away from me! At that point he reached for my hand again so I pulled it away and she started yelling at me that he was just trying to stop the bleeding; I said no he doesn't need to touch me ever again. This nurse then turned to Ceasars and asked him if he had gotten everything he needed. Not once did she show any concern for what this person had just done to me. It was only at this point did Ceasars start heading out of my room , only to turn around and hand back into my room at three more times and these nurses kept getting out of his way sympathizing with him all the while. All I had wanted was for him to stop hurting me and to leave my room! Mind you I did not see my nurse until the end of all of this! And she in no way showed any concern for my well being, just concern for the nurses who not only did nothing to help me, but spent the next 20 minutes antagonizing me by opening the door to my room every 5 minutes, one even walked into my room opened the cabinet provided for clothing and other other properties , just to make sure I had a safe . Ok so that's how the staff acted no as for the cleanliness of the room, the bed sheets have hundreds of little holes in them, the rolling table for eating and writing was so sticky when I tried to pick my arm back up off it , the whole table came with it spilling all my food, gross; there was no toilet paper in the bathroom, not boxes of tissue in the room anywhere, no towels , no wash clothes, and no soap or sanitizer to be found! Granted it's not a hotel but these are things you expect to see , at least the toilet paper! These people stick together protecting themselves and their team but they do nothing for their patients! Unless it's the emergency department there they are all about the patients! A side note ; the administration claims that this seems to be a pattern with me; maybe , but the first time it happened was basically the same reason only maybe not so dramatic! The phlebotomist In this instance name was Boris and he has become a very proficient phlebotomist since then ! Congrats, Boris! This begs the question is this a pattern formed by me, or is Simi adventist ,forming the pattern by in sufficient traing of their phlebotomist? read more

I had to bring my son into the emergency room 3 different times in a week. The nurses were AMAZING Hailey was one, another I don't remember her name but she had light brown medium length curly hair, she was ALSO amazing! The lady in the er lobby juggling 20 thousand things at once, was also sooooo attentive with my baby. (Shorter wavy brown hair) They're all so sweet even though my son gave them a run for their money with his veins! (He's part alien / part human. his veins hid each time we were there) they consistently checked in on my son. And made sure he wasn't in any pain and didn't need anything. This review is very limited because I wasn't a patient here. this review is only on my first impression of the campus and the lobby. First of all, there are many buildings on the campus where this hospital is located. If it wasn't for the signs, I would get lost. The campus is nice looking and the area looks safe. There was an area for parking close to the lobby which had free parking for certain areas of the hospital which I thought was a nice touch. The circular driveway in front of the lobby also had a few free spots to park at in case you were picking up a patient or dropping someone off. Very nice lobby. Much nicer than the one I work at. The desk was manned by someone who had great customer service which is always appreciated. read more

I have been through the ER and been admitted four different times in the last six months at Adventist.Normally by the time I get there, I am septic and they have been really good about getting me in right away and getting me admitted.. the nurses and Drs have all been great. especially Dr Ma They listen to my my concerns. They have been very good about answering all my questions and concerns. I came from another hospital, I won't give the first name , only the last to protect their privacy( Robles) which I had also been to four times through the ER and Adventist is way better that I can't even put them in the same category. Emergency room was terrific, especially with RN Shannon, knowledgeable, efficient and caring. I came there by fire dept for acute G/I bleeding and stayed for three days. My room was good. One bed, good food, and very quiet. The doctors were excellent and most of the nursing staff, especially Armand A+ & Thi A+. I would rate this hospital a 5 Star if not for few exceptions: My IV was accidentally pulled out when transferred to my bed and a couple of times the nurses left my call light away from my bed so I had to shout until I got attention. read more

The staff, nurses, and doctors are incredibly kind and supportive. The only negative feedback I would like to point out is the event they are having today on the second floor in the ICU waiting area. Essentially, they have asked my family, who are visiting and discussing our dying family member's next steps, to leave the waiting room. Due to the severity of his condition we are all in a very emotional state and they asked us to leave the waiting room, and they are having an event with loud noise and clapping right in front of the ICU portion of the hospital. The most upsetting part is being asked to leave the waiting room, which is what it is for--for ICU patient family to wait. I don't see why they couldn't pick a more appropriate place to have a meeting and conference for 50 people/staff members. Highly inappropriate in my opinion. read more

I had a HIPAA/PHI violation here. The hospital called an emergency contact thinking it was me and did not perform a two step authentication over the phone to ensure they were talking to the right person and when they discovered they were talking to the emergency contact and not the patient they clammed up and hung real quickly. So not only did they break HIPAA but they made a rookie mistake calling the EC thinking it was the patient. Then when pressed where did they get this EC # they put the blame on the ambulance EMTs as they obtained it in their travels and basically said its not our problem. If you don't care about your medical records being shared with wrong people then yeah its an alright hospital... But if you respect your medical privacy I would go somewhere else at all costs. read more

My Dad was admitted here for a broken hip last Thursday and released to a rehab center yesterday. His nurses Rachael and Lupe took very good care of him. The front desk staff was also very nice, as well as all other employees. He had his own room and it was clean and comfortable. Sadly he still can't walk so he was transferred to a facility. Matt the case manager here kept me informed of next steps and was great! All in all I am happy how they took care of my Dad. read more

I am deeply concerned about the quality of care provided to my daughter at Simi Valley Adventist Hospital and their staff. My daughter who has Autism and unique medical needs, experienced a severe medication allergy while under "Chemical and Physical restraints" certainly without her consent! experienced serious negligence that has had lasting consequences on her health. When she began biting her tongue - a sign of distress the hospital staff dismissed as "attention seeking - she was actually in early stages of anaphylactic shock. Despite my repeated concerns, this critical condition went undiagnosed for three days, even giving this medication that she was allergic to, they gave it to her again, after telling the nurse not to give her this drug again, during which her health deteriorated. Finally, when the severity of her condition was recognized, she ended up in the ICU, over 45 minutes of CPR, intubated then only to contract SEPSIS, and survived. Due to this delay, she now suffers from permanent loss of function, which could have been prevented with proper care and timely intervention. To make matters worse, no incident report was filed by any of the hospitals staff, nor by vendors from the Tri-County Regional Center, whom tax payers pay them for their services. Additionally, my daughter's Medical Records have been falsified (Dr. Anthony Ho) to cover up their negligence. This disturbing lack of accountability and disregard for my daughter's well-being reflects a serious failure in the hospital's duty of care. If you are considering this facility, please be aware that our experience revealed significant gaps in training, alack of misunderstanding of autism-specified needs, and a troubling disregard for patient safety. their medication errors now and in the past are devastating, and should have been avoided. Every patient disabled or not deserves complete competent, compassionate care, but our experience at Simi Valley Adventist Hospital was far from it... Hope this does not cause retaliation, but the public needed to know...by the way they did not monitor her and had cuts and bruises all over her. these restraints are for the doctors and nurses, because my daughter was in tremendous tooth ache pain, she had never been psychotic in her life. On 5/22/25 I had an invasive angiogram at the Adventist hospital in Simi Valley. I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Jeffrey Harrell and the entire team. They all seemed to work very well together. The nurses and the technicians were great. When I came in to be prepared for the surgical procedure, nurses: Jody, W., Ashley S, Heidi S. and Kelly S. were just wonderful. While preparing me they were kind, caring and explained what was involved and expected for before, during and after the procedure. I was obviously anxious but they made me feel safe and cared for with their kindness and reassurance that I was in good hands. Once in the OR, the technician Russ Y. made me feel relaxed and comfortable and so did technician Michelle F. after the procedure. I strongly feel that the professional and caring way this team treated me while in the hospital needs to be mentioned and commanded for their efforts. After the procedure Jody and Michelle were also very thoughtful. They made sure to check to see how I was doing and made sure that I was okay. Jody also asked me if I was hungry, which I was. She went ahead and warmed up some food for me. I didn't even have to ask. I appreciated that thoughtfulness. The way this team treated me meant a lot to me. I was anxious and scared yet the way I was treated changed how I felt. Before leaving I got the chance to speak with Chris, the supervisor and I was able to relate my very positive experience with this team. My only disappointment was that I tried to contact their director, Cindy and left 2 voicemail messages during a week's time but I never heard back from her. My 2 year old son was bit in the face by a dog. PA Ryan Vickers took good care of us, was good with my son and very patient with us. Examined and determined very closely whether he needed stitches or not. Thankfully he did not. My wife and I are thankful for his care and attention. All I'll say is the hospital may be a bit too small and understaffed. Simi has grown pretty significantly. Probably not enough rooms there. But everyone was hustling around trying to get everyone taken care of. That said we were out 4 hours after checkin, which isn't too bad for an ER visit. read more

The ER Nurses were very sweet. The old MD on call was pretty dismissive. Didn't listen well. Seemed to do the bare minimum and then shrugged his shoulders and told me to go home. I walked out of there still feeling bad and as if I had just been called a liar. No one walked me out. No one said anything as i left.
