We had our app submission party on Adventure Sails' new boat Verve a couple of weeks ago. My business partner picked the boat, the menu and the setting; to say I was apprehensive would be an understatement. We're not known for, or experienced at, throwing extravagant events, so the challenge of submitting an iOS app, giving a speech and entertaining a group of VIPs was a daunting prospect for us. Needless to say, I had an overwhelming sense of trepidation when the time came to jump on the boat (some would call it fear, stage freight or anxiety but those sound like Maddison Ave. words). There needn't have been, from the moment we jumped on board Jenni took over, making sure that our guests were all catered to and that everyone was always having fun. Noticing that one of our guests had a proclivity to get over excited about large boats, they would make sure that we were aware when one was coming along side. Not once was a drink empty, not once was there a lack of food and not once was anyone seasick (including me, which is quite miraculous). Darren, the rather charming skipper, even set the trip up so that when it was time for us to put teaspoon to champagne flute we were on calm seas with the sunset on our back, making for the most remarkable speech I have ever given in my life and putting the cherry on top of a miraculous evening. Since then every single one of our guests has commented on how it was the most amazing event they've been to, which makes my business partner and I beam with pride every time. Thank you to Jenni and the team at Adventure Sails. If you're after a no-nonsense corporate charter for an event or just a team outing, this is probably the best option in the Melbourne market. read more

I purchased this as a gift for my parents. Jenni was extremely rude to my mother when she tried to book. I ended up booking on their behalf. As my mum isn't computer savvy she sent me a letter explaining the trip and apologising for not having a good time and expressing her disappointment. People who didint drink alcohol had to pay for water. A stubby of beer was $7.00! Jenni welcomed everybody on board and then layed in the cabin reading the paper. They were told to go sparingly with the nibbles which was the size of a muffin tray between 20-30 people, these weren't topped up at all. The boat sailed to Williamstown and then sailed in circles for 40 minutes as it was deemed too rough. My dad has been on boats most of his life and it most certainly was not rough. People even saw the disposable glasses being rinsed out and dried for the next group. Let's hope visitors to Melbourne dont think that all tour operators are to this standard. I was actually thinking of organising our corporate event with them but I will not even consider it now. Stay away. Julie W read more
