Dr.N Szuch is the absolute worst orthopedic surgeon in the greater Chicagoland area. Do not seek her care of youbcare about your health or family members. Ahe destroyed my sons knee and college football career and blamed him for poor " mechanics " when he had a triple tear and sought her for surgery. She threw away his meniscus and botched him completely up. He's 22 can barely walk and she tells him to take ibuprofen 2 years post surgery. I went to physical therapy this morning. The receptionist told me I was 10 minutes late and probably would not be seen. Never mind good morning. The physical therapist came out and proceeded to to tell me I was late, and because he was already running late, he would be able to work on my knee in the amount of time left and that he would have to still charge my insurance the full price. Really 10 minutes late? Both employees discussed my business in front of other patients. Complete breach of confidentiality. When I try to get in to see an orthopedic Dr. I have to wait to a want a month out. Then they schedule during the day when I have to work. I need my job for insurance among other things. I have shared my concerns with Dryer administration, they don't care. I will be looking else where for my medical need. read more

I debated about writing this but believe people need to know this. I broke a metatarsal bone in my foot on June 1. Since Dreyer does NOT have an orthopedic doctor who is a foot/ankle specialist, I saw Podiatrist Dr. Taha who put me in a cast up to my knee. He also strongly recommended surgery, telling me I needed screws or screws and a plate in my bone. He also told me that if I did not have surgery my bone would not heal properly and/or I would always be in pain. After 2 weeks of being in a cast I received a second opinion from an ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago who literally laughed at my cast when he saw it and asked me "who did that?" He then said, "a podiatrist, right?" and told his nurse to immediately remove my cast and put me in an ortho air boot and told me to walk -- Dr. Taha told me not to walk and to not put weight on my foot whatsoever. The ortho surgeon told me he NEVER CASTS OR DOES SURGERY for a break like mine, ONLY in the cases of bone that is very displaced, where the broken ends are not touching (mine are touching, not separated.) When I told him that Dr. Taha told me that he has performed "hundreds" of surgeries like he recommended for me, the ortho surgeon at Northwestern was shocked. He told me, "he should have said two or three." Ten days after I received the cast I was practicing with the crutches that I was was given by Dr. Taha and I fell and broke my wrist. I was given very inadequate and minimal instruction on the use of crutches by the Dreyer staff. The bottom line is that had I not had the cast put on by Dr. Taha, I would not have had the crutches and therefore would not have fallen and broken my wrist. I did contact a medical malpractice attorney for the improper treatment and advice I received from Dr. Taha, but was told the case is not big enough to pursue. Thank goodness I received proper treatment at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago! I am horrified to think about how I would be now had I listened to the medical advice of Dr. Taha -- I know I would NOT be in as good as shape as I am now if I had listened to him! read more

Dr. Jacobs-L Orthopedic surgeon . Really.. Don't go to him. My knee replacement is still painful. After 3 yrs still can't go for walks or do any cardio. Went back to see him. He said it's fine just live with it. He also, said I was boarder line obese. I'm 5'5" 160lbs age 65. So I lost 10 lbs n it still hurts. I will never go back to him. I had been with dryer medical group for about 7 years before three (3) orthopedic doctors forced me to leave the group. About a year ago, I started having issues with a knee. I had surgery on that same knee about 12 years ago but hadn't had a problem since. I had been through vigorous, physical workout programs, including the police academy. In January 2017, I started working out again after not doing so for a few months. My knee swelled up twice before I saw an orthopedic doctor. The first doc I saw was Dr. Szuch. She was great to begin with but in July when I felt a snap and a pop in my knee, and told her about it, Dr. Szuch didn't care. She told me we were going to "continue with the current treatment plan" - physical therapy. As my performance in physical therapy declined after the pop, Dr. Szuch still would not look into it further or give me other options. She did did not even order an MRI after the pop. I continued on w my life with an average pain level of 6 out of 10. In October, I was using a punching bag (low impact for my knee) when I took a step and had a pain that made my knee feel like it had a butcher knife in the middle of it. I went back in to see Dr. Szuch and was told I need a total knee replacement but am too young (34) so I just need to deal with it and ice it. At that time, I made an appointment to see Dr. White. He was honest with me. He told me my knee was shot but I'm too young for a replacement. He also told me he wasn't the doctor for me. So I made an appointment to see Dr. Jacobs-El. Dr. Jacobs-El was a joke. He told me my knee was shot but everything, the pain and visible swelling, were in my head. He told me to take a tablespoon of raw honey and cinnamon on a daily basis and it will make things so much better (all the things that he just told me were in my head). He continued to tell me that he has lots of patients who do that and are living happily. When I asked him what I'm supposed to do about work, I'm a police officer, he told me that I need to "chase that subject knowing I will be incapacitated a few hours to a few days after the chase" and that I "just need to deal with it". He also told me if he was me, he wouldn't let ANYONE touch my knee. Yesterday I had surgery on my knee through Fox Valley Medical Group. I was told I had 3 locations within my knee that had torn cartilage, "tons" of floating bone and calcium fragments which were destroying everything they touched AND my kneecap was tracking improperly because the grove in which it is supposed to track through was destroyed. I spent 2 months with dryer orthopedics trying to find a better way to live; 2 months of them telling me my knee was shot but I needed to deal with it and get over the pain in it. I will NEVER go back to their orthopedic doctors. Do your research people! There ARE options out there for people who aren't getting the answers or treatment they deserve through advocate dryer... Fox Valley Medical Group has been fantastic and I've only been with them for 45 days. Dr. Metha did my surgery and already, less than 24 hours post surgery, I feel better than I have in the last 6 months. read more

If people would just write down ahead of time what the problem is, and get started on it right away as soon as the Dr. sits down to talk to them the doctors would not get behind. However, for some reason, people wait til they are ready to walk out the door, and then they say to the doctor "Oh, by the way, this or that has been bothering me for x length of time," and the doctor has to take care of that problem and OOOPS, they're behind .. 10-15 minutes. Next patient comes in, maybe they, too do the "Oh, by the way" thing, and doctor if further behind. Then the doctor doesn't even have time for his/ her lunch or whatever. it's NOT always the doctor's fault if THEY are late for YOUR appointment. Came up to visit my daughter and husband not feeling well. Got an appointment with Dr. Kunickaite and she was wonderful and very caring. Took an EKG and found out my husband had A-Fib. She recommended to see Dr. Kakodkar, and thru her recommendation, was able to get in right away. He advised my husband to get an Angiogram, and recommend Dr. Goel, and my husband saw him, had the test done, and Dr. Goel was able to put in a stint . Everything turned out great and my husband feels much better. If it wasn't"t for the great medical care of these people, God only know where we would be. We live in Florida and it takes months to even get an appointment, and health care is not good. Some people have no patience , and complain about everything. If I could give 20 stars I would. But it seems people in this day and age have no respect, no patience, and initialed to whatever and whenever they want. read more

1/5/15 I had a massage yesterday, Jan. 4th in Physical Therapy at Dreyer Highland Clinic, Aurora Anne was wonderful she spent a lot time discussing any pain and health issues I have. While the gynecologist I saw was great, I have several issues with the support staff. I was referred here by my primary physician after a routine pap. The staff here called me demanding that I take the soonest available appointment and scared me half to death but refused to tell me what the heck was going on. I showed up only to be met with a surprise biopsy that the doctor informed me her staff was supposed to have told me about. I was very reluctant to go through with what I still wasn't 100% convinced was a necessary procedure but the office staff claimed to have already checked with my insurance and stated that the procedure was covered. A month later I got hit with $700 in charges that my insurance company denied after they supposedly "confirmed" that it was covered. When I attempted to dispute the charges with them the dispute process was bogus. It basically consisted of me stating the facts at hand and them telling me that I was going to pay it anyway or they'd notify the credit bureaus and they further claimaned that they "have no way of confirming coverage other than verifying that your insurance is current." Okay fine, but then why LIE to me and tell me that you checked and the procedure was 100% covered? They had also forced me to book a 6 month follow up with this doctor for god knows what other expensive procedure. I'll be cancelling that appointment. read more

Both my husband and I have had problems with doctors from this facility!! Dr. White- told my husband that he did not need surgery for his shoulder. We went to him four different times and has an MRI done. We finally went to Dr.Mara who if you look up his credentials is the best shoulder specialist in the state who told my husband he did need surgery. He did the surgery, it was major surgery and a large piece of his bone needed to be removed. As well, when we saw Dr. White, I went with each time and he never even said hello or looked at me and I was in the small room with my husband! This doctor after talking to other people as well should retire and has no bedside manner and is a horrible Doctor. Didn't even bother to look at my husband just assumed because his case was workmanship comp that he didn't need surgery. Also, Friday this facility which we had a procedure scheduled on Monday at 9:30 because we have kids and need to get them to school just sent us an automated message telling us the procedure is now at 6:30- three hours earlier!! No one bothered to actually call us and reschedule! No one asked us if that time was okay!! And this was all done last minute!! Horribly unprofessional and once we can change insurance out we go!! The list goes on!! I also got a referral from Dreyer to see a specialist outside of their network- which you need if you have to see someone besides their doctors. I went to call and make an appointment and the referral doctor said they won't see me because they have had patients from Dreyer before with referrals and Dreyer has Not paid them!! read more

I had Dr. White do my knee replacement . I was very pleased and it is 7 years later. He is the kind of Droctor I like. After knee replacement I could here other Doctors joking with the patients . I have been going to Dreyer for several years. I have seen Dr. White and for my hammer toes, shoulder and knee pain. Dr. White has repaired my hammer toes, and my bunions. Dr. White has done injections on my shoulders both of them. Injections have been great, but after some time, 6 months to a year the pain does come back. Dr. White does want me in for surgery. I will have to do this soon. Also, Dr. White did surgery on my sister-in-law shoulder. She was in extreme pain. Now, she is very good, after Dr. White surgery and then full therapy for her shoulder.. I scheduled an annual physical for my 10 yrs old daughter and Dr Maria Cocjin ask how she was doing and I said that everything was fine and that occasionally she has some constipation and we will give her a fibeone bar and she is fine. I was charged $174 for the physical which was covered by insurance 100%, and then charged $124 for an office visit b/c I mentioned constipation ( even though I had no concerns about it nor did I wanted my daughter evaluated for it) so know I have to pay for an office visit which the insurance did not cover. They should have told me that if I wanted my daughter evaluated for constipation there will be a separate office visit charge, or that I would have to make a separate office visit for that. read more
