I flew with Aegean Airlines from Chania, Crete (Greece) to Munich, Germany, then on to Barcelona. Both flights were pretty standard, and it was an interesting touch that the flight attendants came through the cabin before each flight and offered a basket of small wrapped candies to all passengers prior to takeoff, and there are also dishes of those same candies at the check-in counters at the airport.
The first flight we were on departed from Chania and landed in Thessaloniki before continuing on to Munich. Once we landed in Thessaloniki, security came through the cabin and wanted each passenger to show them their carryon bags, while another security agent came through to check passports. Once that was done, they re-fueled the plane and allowed additional passengers to board who were flying from Thessaloniki to Munich. The security checks and refueling caused us to be late arriving into Munich, and I'm not quite sure why those things were necessary, especially considering that we all had to show our passports initially to board this plane, and the woman checking the carryon bags was less than thorough. Truly, it was one of the oddest experiences I've had with any airline. read more
