    Mind blowing dessert!

Had the pleasure of dining at the Aegean Sofra ( chef table tasting event). Honestly Chef Efe may be one of the best, most talented chefs in SB! His dishes are so incredible, and each one has a story behind it. Many of the bites were what I refer to as close your eyes moments. Can't wait to return. A must try!

Such a great addition to downtown Santa Barbara! The chef is very creative, and I love the farmer's market specials. I highly recommend getting a reservation; otherwise, be prepared for a wait! My favorite dish here has been the sea bass.

Cannot recommend this place enough. I tried to grab some pictures of the food, but it was hard to stop eating!! This is the cauliflower salad, I'm forgetting the name. But it was an appetizer. Everything I ate was full of flavor, lots of yummy spices. The service was superb. The ambiance is lovely. I wish I had enough space in my stomach to try everything on the menu. It all looked so good. I was very pleased with my experience here and can't wait to come back again!!!

The chef is in the kitchen involved with everything and the food is very very good. As a Turk who just returned from Türkiye, his food was delicious. Must try

This restaurant is by far the best food I have ever had in my life! Not only was the food great but the service was excellent as well. The servers were so friendly and knowledgeable! We were also lucky enough to meet the chef who was such a nice person and shared with us how the restaurant came to be and how his staff is all like family to him. It was very heartwarming to hear. For appetizers we had: Hummus with Zhoug - the freshness and flavor of the herbs in the Zhoug mixed with the hummus and olive oil was incredible! Karnabahar - the cauliflower was perfect with the sauce. The raisins gave it the perfect amount of sweetness while the lemon tahini added the perfect amount of tang. Incredible flavors! Halloumi - the different textures and flavors were perfect! For main courses both recommended by our amazing waiter: Sac Kavurma - the perfect amount of spice and sauciness with the tender brisket and vegetables was so great with pita bread! Levrek- hands down the best sea bass I have ever had! It was like melt in your mouth delicious! Sides: Vegetarian Rice Pilaf - again the flavor! Aegean Fries - delicious and went so well with the garlic yogurt! Dessert: Flourless Varlhona Chocolate Cake - decadent cake with all the other flavors added was amazing. I am so happy to have found this restaurant! I highly suggest it!!! I can't wait to go back!

Aegean: Santa Barbara's new spot for authentic Mediterranean Perfection Tucked away on State Street, Aegean is the kind of place that reminds you why you fell in love with food in the first place. A hidden gem that Santa Barbara didn't know it was missing, this restaurant delivers a truly authentic Mediterranean experience. The kind that instantly transports you to the sun soaked coasts of Greece and Turkey. Chef Efe Onoglu, whose global culinary background includes work in Michelin-starred kitchens, has created something extraordinary here. Every dish is a work of art... thoughtfully composed, soulfully seasoned, and plated with an artist's eye. You can feel his passion in every detail not only in the food, but in the restaurant itself... with stories shown through pictures of the history of chef Efe Onoglu's family, dedicated to his late grandfather, who inspired him most of all. Having traveled through the Mediterranean myself, I can confidently say this is the most authentic Mediterranean cuisine I've found in California; and I've lived here for over fifteen years. The flavors are honest and bright, the ingredients vibrant and balanced. Oh and EVERYTHING IS LOCALLY SOURCED. From the infamous santa Barbara farmers Market to the famous Uni (if you know you know) Complimented with hand picked local wines. Whether you're dining in or planning an event, Aegean's catering is another level entirely!! A perfect choice for a wedding or any celebration where you want your guests to remember the food long after the night ends. Do yourself a favor and order the full menu, every single dish tells its own story, and together they create something truly unforgettable. Santa Barbara has found its culinary masterpiece in Aegean.

Sometimes you read reviews of new restaurants and you wonder if it isn't too good to be true, but in this case the raves for Aegean are fully deserved. A delightful place, attentive and charming service, fair prices, and some pretty remarkable food. Interesting, varied, deeply flavored, and inventive. We had Brussels sprouts and Humous, both enough for a crowd (the accompanying bread superb), halloumi, chicken and bass, a glass of wine each, no room for the dessert (next time). Every dish was delicious, maybe the sprouts were my favorite, but gonna have to go back. Our server Isabella was lovely, happy, and knowledgeable. A new favorite in Santa Barbara!

The food is other worldly. Chef Efe takes care to choose local, quality ingredients to create reimagined classics. Think tzatziki with snap peas, smokey baba ganoush, beetroot hummus, a chestnut soup that had everyone licking their bowls and dreaming of more. I'd highly recommend eating this food-- whether it's at one of the local spots he does a pop-up at, private dinners, or one of his (hopefully frequent) small group dinners.

Service: 10/5!!! Kathleen was amazing. So so nice. We originally had a different order but we kept going back and forth on items. Kathleen was not only helpful in helping us decide but came back to our table right before they started cooking and asked if we wanted to change our order only because the curry might give more contrast to our other items. I thought that was just so incredibly kind and really showed how she was invested in our experience. This is why I really wanted to write this review! I got excited upon finding this local food business And even more when I was told they have "Jerk chicken" Typically on their menu you can find Jerk pork, jerk chicken and some veggie options Meals are fixed with rice and peas, plantains and cabbage They do tacos too Jerk chicken: Authentic jerk chicken is done on the grill.. A somewhat smoker contraption This is typical in Jamaican restaurants It's spiced heavily so that even off the grill it's ready to be consumed But the majority of places have an additional liquid jerk sauce made from scratch. Scotch bonnet peppers are known to take center stage in the sauce and also in the dry rub for the grilling Fish, tofu, pork, all kinds of meats are done in this style and fashion So now that you know a little on history.. Let's go into the present Some people do jerk chicken in the oven or a combo of the latter with oven.. Kool Runninz is one of them... The spices were there... Friendly enough for the masses of Santa Barbara ( traditional stylee can be unforgivably hot) The chicken I thought was just ok The rice and beans ( in West Indian culture it's called rice and peas) Was good...It's standard to have notes of coconut from coconut milk in the rice along with thyme and possibly peppers The coconut was detectable and I'm a big fan Not a fan of cabbage so I went for extra rice ( shout out to my carb lovers out there) The plantains...ah em... I said the plantains... Wow, I've eaten plantains in different styles Look Runniz is easily in the top 3 of all time.. Crisp edges, chewy ( just enough) inside.. With great texture... Overall I thought they delivered a delicious alternative To my everyday Santa Barbara experience And I'm glad I came across them

They provide simple sauce packets like lemon juice and ponzu, and we paired ours with seaweed wraps we brought from home, plus a little lemon and ponzu - perfection! I also loved the whole reef-to-table concept. They'll shuck and clean everything for you on the spot, but if you prefer to take them unshucked, they knock $5 off each one - totally worth it if you want to enjoy a picnic on the pier or nearby beach. What really made the experience extra special was chatting with the owner, Mike. Fast forward to them being on my mind for months I had the opportunity to give them another try at one of their pop up events. The lines proved that everyone in the community loves Lofi as much as me! Family owned and operated this business is all about good vibes, teaching others about west coast bbq, their love for feeding their community and no ego. Steve and the family truly want you to have a wonderful experience and make you feel at home both with their kindness and the food that they put on your plate. Supporting them in this bbq community has been a refreshing experience as they are so kind and open to feedback. I love that they have fun pop ups opposed to a standard brick and mortar. They chose this because they truly want their bbq to be accessible and available to those that don't always have the opportunity to try them. They definitely give back to their community and supporting them is a win for our small but mighty 805 community. Okay now on to the food! Claiming anything is the "best" in the 805 is a bold move but I stand behind the flavors and complexity that Lofi brings to the table. West Coast BBQ makes me feel proud to be from CA as I've had bbq all over the states and they are doing us proud here. They have a killer bbq sauce that's the perfect mix of sweet and savory. Their meats and proteins are always cooked to perfection and juicy! My two favorite meats they do hands down is their 1. Brisket and 2. Pulled Pork. Their brisket is so flavorful and I love the little bit of fattiness that comes through. Also having never been a pulled pork girl, Lofi changed the game for me - so good and the flavors are on point. Another bite worth mentioning are their ribs, great seasoning and generous portions. I like to cut all of the heaviness of the bbq with their coleslaw. Makes for the perfect bite. I know they have a good amount of other sides but I'll need to give them a try. I am so beyond happy that we have Lofi BBQ in the 805. Their family couldn't be nicer and more welcoming. They are doing good work out here and I'll definitely continue to support them and spread the word on this amazing bbq spot.

I had the pleasure of meeting both Chef Cristina Gonzalez ("back of the house") and her life and business partner, Elsa Cisneros ("front of the house"). Together as one they run this sustainable, local and organic-focused business. To begin, both women are extremely talented and experienced. Chef Cristina attended the School of Culinary Arts at SBCC and then later worked under Wolfgang Puck and for Bon Appetit. On the other hand, Elsa focused on catering at Philip's College in San Antonio, later to find herself at Bon Appetit elbow-to-elbow with Cristina. Next, viewing the exterior of where Daily Greenz shared kitchen is located is unassuming. However, after entering you quickly realize that this is home to one of Santa Barbara's cleanest kitchens. Everything from the ovens to the pans were sparkling clean and new. Daily Greenz Pop-Up allowed me the opportunity to taste a few items. To begin, there was a refreshing Jamaica "Blood" Tea (for Halloween) and a perfectly-balanced Margarita. They provided a fresh Caesar Salad as a starter, followed by a choice of two tacos. The tacos included Achiote Chicken (refried beans, caramelized onion, cheese, and avocado-tomatillo drizzle) and Pork Chile Colorado (Pork Palace Heritage Pasture pork, refried beans, and queso fresco). Both tacos were small and bite size, yet huge and full of delicious flavors. Each ingredient could be tasted individually and enjoyed immensely. I learned and appreciate that Daily Greenz gives you the option to reserve your chef-created meal service between 48 hours to 2 weeks in advance. Not only that, they allow you to choose a flexible meal plan for lunches/dinners (either or both) for one to every day of the week. Bottom line: If you are seeking a meal delivery service for your family, or a caterer for your business, please contact and give Daily Greenz a try.

It appeared to be a very high standard of food and safety in this kitchen! When I arrived, my order was being labeled and packed up. Everyone was so sweet and answered all of my questions about where everything was sourced from and when. Extremely fresh ingredients!! I love that everything is organic and locally sourced. When we first ordered, we thought it was a little pricey just for a couple of salads, but once we were home and sitting down to eat, we realized we got our money's worth in quality AND quantity!! These salads are HUGE!! The flank steak my husband added to his salad was a generous serving. Fortunately, the salads were prepared with the dressing on the side, so I'll have fresh, crisp greens for round 2 tomorrow! The vinaigrette alone would have been amazing, but the peanut sauce drizzle it also came with made it superb! I was so impressed. The whole menu sounds delicious! I was told it changes regularly, depending on what's in season, so I plan to hustle back for the Chile Colorado, the Brunch Strada, and the sun-dried tomato goat cheese spread. I'm drooling just thinking about it!!
