This place is fantastic for both tandem customers or fun jumpers (licensed skydivers). The facility still has a new car smell, for licensed solo jumpers the landing area is large with ample secondary options if you can't make it down in the designated area and the owner/staff members are all awesome to deal with. Some details before I forget: They rent equipment if you'd like some fun jumps but didn't bring your gear. They teach the AFF classes necessary to become licensed. They have a caravan so plenty of comfortable space on the Uber ride upto 13,000ish. This DZ uses Burble if you're familiar with the app, which is great. Would definitely recommend and will be back ASAP! read more

This was the greatest experience of my life! The staff was quick and efficient! They were so thorough and happy that I got over my nerves pretty quickly! Jay was my instructor, he did my training and harness prior to going up and he was also the person I did the tandem jump with. My boyfriend went with Cookie who was also fun and he said they had a blast together! We really loved all of it! The camera guys that go up and down with you make you happy and feel at ease! The staff, facilities and amenities at this Drop Zone are world class! Initially when I decided to pick this place, it was based off its location and I was afraid that I'm just picking a random place out in the middle of farm land... Boy was I wrong! This drop zone is really brand new, nothing inside or out seemed run down or really "seasoned". The picnic tables were a vibrant yellow with no wear on them, the Adirondack chairs seemed like they had the price tags still on them and the packing carpet was the cleanest I've ever been on. The observation area is clearly defined for all the spectators and the landing area is remarkably well kept and groomed (no landing in high grass with any hidden hazard underneath). The caravan that they use is both comfortable and quick to altitude (the foam padding on the bench is a luxury but I had little time to enjoy it because that plane is FAST). Most importantly is the staff, they are amazing going well beyond accommodating and nice. I'm a fun jumper (licensed) that's still very new to the sport and I enjoy jumping at different locations and the vibes that I got from this DZ (Drop Zone) was definitely one of acceptance. Nobody had any egos and the owners were the nicest people around! Sherry and Andrew on multiple occasions stopped what they were doing to assist and show me safer and more efficient techniques on packing (spending 10+minutes making me feel more reassured that my wing will open smoothly). The coaches and instructors also gave some great insight to optimizing our jumps, Shea threw out amazing ideas for epic plane exits and knew what would be attainable at each individuals skill level. I drove 8+ hours to this drop zone and I would happily do it again too! For the people that call this place their home DZ, y'all are some of the nicest people around! And to the people who do their first Tandem jumps here, you're in for a real treat, It doesn't get much better than Aerohio! read more

I made an appointment to do a solo skydive with the video and the website says the class would be held rain or shine. The day of the class, I get a call and they cancelled, so I called about getting my deposit back and they said it's non refundable even though they cancelled on me. I'm a military member home on leave. We got rained out yesterday and I requested a refund. I explained to the lady I'm going to training and immediately deploying. I wont have a chance to be back within a year. She said no refunds and it's transferrable, which still does me no good. A complete inability to understand or take care of a customer who is in a predicament. read more

Doing a tandem skydive has been something I've wanted to do for a long time, and when a friend suggested we just go for it and do it here, I had no idea what a treat I was in for. I did a lot of reading ahead of time (mainly to psych myself up for it), and this place came with a great reputation...online, anyway. I went into the experience with an open mind and a critical eye. There was more than enough e-mail communication with us ahead of time. Papers to fill out, things to watch for (mainly weather), etc. I think I expected to find just a grass strip, a small shack and not a lot else. I was so wrong. As you drive up, you see that this is a small yet full-blown skydiving facility, obviously well established and well maintained. I'm unclear what some other reviewers are talking about regarding the front desk folks. The two women I dealt with could not have been more pleasant and helpful. In fact, everyone here seems to love their job. You can watch videos of other jumps while you wait. You can talk to anyone on staff and ask questions. If you get there at the right time, you can see solo and tandem divers coming in for landings. Every single one I saw walking back to the office was happy, and practically all had the "we have to do that again" attitude. The folks inside who run you through what to expect and what to do really seem to know their stuff. It's a very relaxed atmosphere that at the same time carries a deadly serious undertone--there's no chance for you to think that this is an easy, care-free experience. There is always a risk of death or injury involved, but the statistics are very much in your favor. (Accidents make the news because they are so rare. If jumping were too dangerous, it would be illegal.) If you pay attention and do as your told, you'll get your money's worth, and more. Instructors do more than just cinch up the harnesses and (eventually) take you with them out the side of a plane at 12,000 feet up. The ones we dealt with (Chris and Adam) were friendly and knew just how to put first-timers at ease. Plenty of jokes and plenty of disarming techniques all served to make this an enjoyable and exciting experience from start to finish. We watched a video that essentially emphasized the various warnings we received in all of the forms we had filled out ahead of time. Then we met our instructors and started to suit up into the harnesses. You don't have to dress in anything special, and you won't get a jumpsuit or anything like that (in case you're expecting that; I was not). Adam and Chris checked each other's work, and then we made our way out to the plane. On this day, my friend and I went up together, and we had paid extra for video and stills, so the small-ish plane was full with two instructors, two clients (us), our own dedicated videographers, and a couple of other staffers (plus the pilot). As we climbed, the atmosphere inside the plane remained fun. We were "interviewed" for our videos, we ran through final checks, and I felt complete and total trust that we were in excellent hands. (I don't think they knew what to make of my dry sense of humor.) The door slid open and in rushed the blast of air. The videographer steps out first and then... [INSERT YOUR OWN AMAZING EXPERIENCE HERE] Safely on the ground, we did a couple more "interviews" then walked back to the office to wait for our videos. The website says leave 3 to 5 hours for the entire process; probably this is to account mainly for weather delays--we experienced one that kept us on hold for about an hour at most. The post-jump wait for the videos wasn't long, so we had time to remove our gear and think about what just happened. And we weren't abandoned while we waited; our instructors hung around and chatted. Tipping is not expected but we both felt our instructors deserved it. I just hope we tipped appropriately! (Hard to ask how much it should be.) The staffers watched our videos with us, gave us thumb drives containing the video and still photo files (along with certificates and other fun stuff), and then my friend and I were on our way home. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Looking forward to doing this again. And again. read more

Hi I would like to promote Safe Skydiving to the general public. Please do research before making a Tandem Skydive. If you Google "Aerohio Skydiving Death", you will find a lawsuit filed in US District Court. Please read the public court documents if you care about your loved ones. I care about my loved ones do you? FACTUAL BACKGROUND: Ellen Ann McWilliams ("Decedent") was fatally injured in a tandem skydiving accident. Decedent was placed in a student tandem harness by a certified tandem instructor. Stills from a video- recording of Decedent's dive show her approaching and then boarding the plane with a visibly loose Harness. At the point of parachute deployment, roughly 6,500 feet above the ground, Decedent slipped out of the Harness. Decedent' s injuries upon impact were fatal. LAW AND ANALYSIS: Unforeseeable Misuse Strong first contends that summary judgment is appropriate because Roberts' misuse of the Harness was unforeseeable. The Court finds that there exists a genuine issue of fact surrounding the foreseeability of Roberts' alleged misuse. It is apparent from both the testimony and the stills of the videotape that Decedent's Harness was maladjusted to some extent and that Roberts misused the Harness. Roberts candidly admits that he did not follow all of Defendant's instructions regarding harness safety, as he failed to fully adjust all the straps on Decedent's Harness prior to Decedent boarding the airplane. Furthermore, the stills show that during freefall, at least one of Decedent's Harness straps, the lower back strap, was not in the correct position. Reviewing a skydiving facility is like reviewing ice cream, you really can't hate. The facility is quirky at first, but you feel it out. The instructors are fabulous, committed, knowledgeable and competent. The plane is great. The gear is fresh enough. I did a first time tandem jump and had a great experience. After filling out 74 pages of paperwork promising you won't sue if you die, there is a video hosted by a long bearded guy that looks like a cross of Dusty Hill of ZZ Top and General Sherman of the Union Army circa 1864 where he also tells you that you agree to not sue if you die. There must have been a problem across the country of sexual harassment because a lot of effort is spent letting you know that you shouldn't sue for that either just because they are adjusting harness straps around your crotch. It should be pointed out that Nate, the dude I jumped out of the airplane with, made me feel safe as he checked, re-checked and checked again the straps around my crotch, not in an invasive way but more as a show of dominance, like a Viking. He did provide the tip that men should really pay attention to not let their testicles come between the harness straps and their leg, as that would be bad when the chute deployed. Very bad. After doing the jump, I second that opinion. Despite feeling like a submissive little girl while strapped to this dude in the tandem harness, I figure that leaping out of an airplane requires that I extend my personal space boundaries a bit so I don't die or crush my spine in a horrific accident. The upside? The freefall is awesome, and something you should probably go do later today. This is a very professional organization with the slightly off-kilter personalities one would expect from a skydiving operation. In my opinion sorta wacked out guys in skydiving is good, whereas in a school bus driver that might be bad. I'll probably do this again and when I do, I'll go here. I am very disappointed with this business. My boyfriend made reservations last weekend for us to jump, however after driving an hour to our appointment we find out that our jump was cancelled due to high winds. I understand that weather was an issue, and they did send an email earlier in the day to let us know. Ok, so our bad for not checking our email prior to making the trip out there. We rescheduled for the following weekend and asked for a phone call should the jump be cancelled. The following weekend was a bit overcast so we were concerned that our appointment would be cancelled again. Before we left we called Aerohio and sent an email to make sure everything was still on. Nobody answers the phone at this place apparently bit since we hadn't heard anything we assumed that it was a go. Again we drive an hour to get there, being sure to check the email every 15 mins or so. We also made multiple phone calls to the company only to get a voicemail or busy signal. We arrive again and of course nobody is there. My boyfriend talked to a man that was there (didn't work there who said that it would have been cancelled due to low clouds). Again, I understand the weather is nobody's fault, and am glad that they are safety conscious, however I'm extremely frustrated with the fact that we received no notification that our jump was cancelled. There is no excuse for this since the obviously had our email as well as our phone number and specifically asked for a phone call should things be cancelled! I have left a message with the person in charge of reservations, however we have called her multiple times today and apparently she just doesn't answer her phone. In my opinion this is a very irresponsible way to run a business. I work in the service industry myself and always am sure to go above and beyond to be sure I contact someone should I need to cancel an appointment.
