The Femmes were playing. There was a person dressed as Toto in a basket with dominatrix straps. It was their debut party for their newest beers 'We're with Dorothy.' A Pride beer with proceeds going to the Trans Emergency fund. It was packed! I immediately pulled our stroller into a spot to watch and listen. We visited here recently and loved it! My husband loves hazy IPAs and IPAs in general and their selection was pretty diverse. We shared the chicken bowl from the Venezuelan spot within the brewery which was honestly delicious (Carolicious). If you look them up separately they have great reviews as well. I spent more time than necessary looking for parking here, it was horrendous. The street's also 2 way and very tight squeeze, honestly should be a one way street. Aeronaut's outdoor seating was close, but more than enough seating indoors. I ordered the Helles 4 Cause to support the cause, which was smooth and hoppy. Probably the fastest I drank a cup thus far. There was also a food vendor indoors, but I didn't want to make unnecessary pit stops during my bar hopping. We were coming out of Tasting Counter and we figured that we should grab a real quick after dinner beer. Lots of seating both in and outside the brewery. Mostly packed but it was a Friday night so that was expected. We opted to grab a small table right near the bar. The color and decorations in the brewery were cool, never seen a brewery like this. We only grabbed one beer each and got the Hop, Hop, and Away and the Still We Rise. I liked the Still We Rise because it was a good sour, with a decent amount of blueberry flavor as well but $1 of each glass of it goes to a good cause! My girlfriend like the Hop Hop and Away, obviously very hoppy (I'm bad at describing beer I think). We loved this place so much we even bought some merch! My friends and I came here for drinks on a Saturday night around 7pm. It was busy, but the brewery is huge and there are plenty of tables inside and outside. ID policy is insanely strict and asinine. Not coming back ever again and making sure friends go somewhere else. Tried to enter to celebrate my best friend on his birthday, but I unfortunately forgot my ID at home (my fault). Home is 40 min away and I had a ride from someone. I asked the staff, "hey can yall just give me a mark on my hand that shows I can't drink while I'm here?" No. I asked the staff, "can I get a wristband or something to show I can't drink?" No. Wristbands only given to minors. But apparently I'm too old looking to be considered a minor, but old enough to look of legal drinking age? "I'm willing to sit by the host stand or in view of the manager so you guys can see I'm not drinking, I just want to spend the night with my friend who is celebrating his birthday." No. "I have a picture of my license and passport on me, can yall just not let me enter and I won't drink?" No. Friend asks the bartender, "hey my buddy just wants to sit with us near the entrance and not drink, he doesn't have his ID on him. That cool?" Bartender says sure, not a problem. Manager then catches wind of this and says adamantly "No." I had to have a staff escort me to the table 5 ft in front of the entrance to sing happy birthday to my friend for 1 min. The beer is awful. The "local" brewery thing is a joke and the over hyped over priced craft beer. This is just adjunct on top of adjuncts to give flavor. I tried a few all taste overwhelming or underwhelming (IPA is water and bland), sours taste chemical or the pumpkin is grossly too sweet. Had Pumpkin Patch just now and it's like they dumped a bag of Domino sugar into the beer and forgot to stir. It's gross. Over hyped craft beer. The Harvard grad owner, is stealing your money and smug about it, because he thinks he obviously better than you sheep that are overpaying and drinking this garbage. I always have a great time here. There Multiple big rooms with lots of tables. We went on a Friday and I think it was board game night. People were friendly and came up to ask what games we were playing. The beer is always good here and they have cool local food vendors that come also. Friend of mine, genuine nice guy, misclicked the credit card reader and didn't leave the bartender a tip. Bartender Bro gets a frowny face, stops service on a line of a dozen people, calls the customer out of his group from across the room, sarcastically: "Was there anything I could have done to serve you better? It's my first time on the East Coast and I heard it was shitty and the people were awful. I didn't get to many places but that didn't matter and my mind it set. Boston is awesome solely because of Aeronaut Brewing Company beer and the amazing staff. Over two visits I had the Barrel Aged Midnight Crossings (spot on Baltic Porter: big and roasty, salty, but not syrupy), Prototype Batch #P522 (experimental porter: smoky, roasty, with a light body), Boreal Kingdom (NE Hazy IPA: thin bodied for the style but balanced just right with fruity flavor), and a cask hand-pulled coffee vanilla porter (super smooth and full of flavor). The real highlight of the experience was the second visit. I got a 5oz pour and was deciding on my next beer. A guy (who I can only describe as the characteristic "Bostonian") walked behind the bar. I thought here's my bad Boston experience, but to my surprise he glanced at my half empty taster and said with the most enthusiastic and sincere voice, "You all good? What are you thinking next?". Theo not only helped me to find the best beer I tried at the brewery (Robot Crush: an award winning Pilsner: awesomely crisp, and hoppy), but he made me love being in Boston. This is the place to be!! I came here for a friends birthday party and it was popping. They had a beautiful courtyard with the most amazing vibrant murals and there was this fantastic live band playing. Inside the brewery there is a ton of space to sit and hang around without bumping into anyone. I'm not a beer fan so I ended up getting the peach sangria seltzer which was tasty but still has a pretty hoppy flavor. The only down side is that they don't have many options that aren't beer or alcohol, but it is a brewery so not sure if that can be considered a downfall. They also had some card games you could take to your table (can't remember exactly what games they had, other than Cards Against Humanity). Both arepas are STUFFED and overflowing with meat, cheese, beans, plantains, and topped with their signature basil sauce. They also give you some homemade hot sauce - pour that all over the arepas and you'll be in heaven. - Tequenos (5/5): Crispy and oh-so-cheesy bread sticks that hit. the. spot. I'm really grateful for their COVID precautions. They check your ID across a glass barrier and the tables (both indoor and patio) are spaced very far apart. The outdoor seating is super cute and they have many heat lamps! They also request that customers wear their masks when servers bring food/drinks over. Sadly they're not doing flights right now, but they have many beers on tap to choose from. I got to try the double citra galaxy and a year with Dr. Nandu. Both were very smooth and not too bitter for IPAs. The pours range from $6-$10. Carolicious serves food throughout most of their opening hours. We walked in on a Saturday afternoon and were seated quickly outdoors. They have a good mix of things to do (a chocolate shop, arepas shop, and the brewery which also provides board games). The outdoor space is wonderful and has good music playing at a reasonable volume, fun murals, and plenty of seating. Even before I visited this brewery my friend sent me a picture of the drink named "An year with Nandu." At this point, I should mention that my name is Nandu and I was very ecstatic to have a drink names after me. Actually, two drinks. Fun story: one of the friends of co-founders is Dr. Hari Nandu and that's who the actual name of the drink comes from! There were 8 people ahead of us in the line to enter the place. First visual impression of the space is very artistic and open. There were dining tables with heaters outdoors. A funky and colorful wall mural and a unique robot art piece. The host was very cordial and guided us a long way to our table. Wish I had taken a picture of the production space and bar when entering because we were not allowed to double back towards the entry way. Covid 19 rules. There was a Venuzuelian pop up for a very reasonable price so we ordered 3 items to comply with the Mass food mandate. Not every table ordered or brought food into the brewery so it appears lenient. The brewery uses the QR code and online ordering as well, no cash and make sure your phone is charged. Our table was very small in a dimly lit area that was very very cold. We had to wear our jackets throughout the visit. We tried 6 different beers. If I had to select the most palatable the Robot Crush and Into the Citra Galaxy were my choices. But something about the IPA, it finished almost soapy and lacked mouth feel. Even the King Louie lacked the piney bitter finish I expected from the IBU. I honestly was not wild about any of the beers we tried which was disappointing. But beers on tap rotate regularly I am sure, and the staff was friendly and followed all safety rules. If you're in the mood for great drinks, vibes, and overall aesthetic, Aeronaut is the place for you. This place definitely lived up to the hype. When you arrive, you check in with two people before being seated, and are required to sanitize. The seating is in the courtyard which is surrounded by beautiful murals. You order the drinks on your phone and pick them up inside. The ordering website was a bit finicky but not a big deal. I'm not a huge fan of beer but I even found something I enjoyed! The passion fruit sour was really great! They separated the entrance and exits for picking up the beer to maximize social distancing. If you get hungry, they have an arepa cart you can order from! The staff could've been a bit friendlier, but not a deal breaker. I was very impressed at the system they had in place for COVID.
