I had a hemorrhoidectomy after a month and a hald I told him there was incontinence problems and he told me to take a laxative, I told him I already been doing it for two months and then I scheduled another appointment, he ignored me he told me a hemorrhoidectomy was the only solution, I know I had state insurance but that doesn't mean u barely stitched the stitches and they came out, good thing I didn't pay out of pocket, worst experience I have ever had, and because of him I will have incontinence problems for the rest of my life, don't use him, he doesn't care read more

Dr Stephen Brown is by far the best colorectal surgeon in the state of Arizona 5 stars***** I found him on health grades after having a nightmare experience with another surgeon. The experience with Dr Brown and his staff was a complete 180 from the previous surgeon 5 stars for everything to the office staff to Dr Brown's bedside manner and attention to detail but most importantly he takes the time to answer and go over everything with you. I had been in constant pain for almost a year and under the care of Dr Brown my pain was finally resolved and I am fully recovered. I highly recommend Dr Brown for any colon and rectal issue and he is by far one of the best surgeons in the state with over 30 years of not just medical experience but colorectal experience. read more

I received a letter from them that I was due for my colonoscopy, which is appreciated. November 23. I called their office and got the automated answering machine followed the directions to the person to schedule my appointment. I ended up with a recording and left my name and number. November 24. I had not heard back and called again. I opted to try get a real person and pressed "0". I received and operator and she told me, the only person that may help me is the person I left the message for on the previous day. She told me that this person works from home and has been sick. I was transferred once again the voice mail of this scheduler. November 30. No answer yet. I called once again and left another message that this was the 3rd time I had called and would hope to receive a call back. December 1. Frustrated with the lack of a sense of urgency for client/patient service, I found another doctor who my wife had used with great success. I called Digestive Health Services and was able to talk to a real person. They took all of my information and was given an appointment. I then called Affiliated Colon and Rectal Surgeons to get my records forwarded. Amazingly, when I got to the operator, she handled it in record time without incident and in less than 2 minutes on the phone had my records going to my new doctor. One would think that this person would ask, why are you having your records forwarded to another doctor. Crickets. As a patient dealing with your health, you appreciate and expect a sense of urgency from the provider. I'm not sure Affiliated Colon and Rectal Surgeons has their patient's best interest at heart. It's unfortunate, as I had dealt with them before in 2016 and they took great care of me. Sometimes, one has to ask the business, "Who is the customer in this transaction?" I'm not sure Affiliated Colon and Rectal Surgeons would be able to answer that question. read more

The receptionists have no idea what they are doing. I have been trying to get my prescription after my SURGERY for over a week to help with the pain and I have not been able to get in touch with Dr. Calcote since then. There were some issues with my insurance and they assured me everything was fine but now it is a week later and they have been no help. Definitely won't be back. Also cost me over $2500 for my surgery. Update: they input my surgery wrong for my insurance and I was supposed to get reimbursed for part of it on my medical care card and now I can't because of how they did it and they refuse to fix it. So I'm out $200 I am entitled to because of these idiots. Horrible customer service. read more

I've been seeing docs at this practice for almost 10 years. Yesterday, I was left in a freezing cold exam room. At 45 minutes after my appt time I asked the nurse what's up? She just shrugged her shoulders like "what are you complaining about?" Forget that. I could be understanding that the doc is running late, but not when there is absolutely no communication. I had a procedure done with Dr Brown who is excellent on 3/24. I called the after hours line with a concern about it and was told by whoever Dr. Calcott is that I needed to call back during normal business as this was an emergency line only. Completely unprofessional as what's wrong could be an emergency. read more

Lynn Calcot and Steven Brown are really awesome people and were really concerned for my well being. The procedures went well with minimal scarring and the surgeries performed on me was of the highest care, comfort and exceptional skill performed by Lynn himself.
