The team were warm, approachable, and genuinely listened to what I wanted for my home. They didn't just try to "sell" me something - they guided me through different options, explained the pros and cons clearly, and helped me stick to my budget while still achieving a really stylish finish. I recently had my kitchen and bathroom renovated, and the entire process was handled with professionalism and care. The showroom is beautifully laid out with a wide range of choices, which made it easy to visualize how everything would look together. Their designers came up with clever solutions for storage and layout that I'd never have thought of myself, and it has transformed how I use the space day to day. The installation team were equally impressive - punctual, tidy, and very respectful of my home. The quality of their workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really sets them apart. Even the little things, like neatly finishing edges and making sure everything was cleaned and polished before handing the space back to me, made such a difference. Don't ask me how I know this, or to provide evidence, but this place is so called because of its founders Alan and Sheila... fact. (or at least, that's what I heard). Anyway, regardless of the truth behind that, I had cause to look out a supplier of domestic appliances recently with a friend who lives in Chorlton and who wants a new cooker, and given that I like to support local businesses, and this place is located on the fringes of Chorlton (and ominously over the road from the Southern Cemetery), I thought of A&S. They pride themselves as a supplier of most major brands of white-goods from the basic to the luxury marques, and hence have something for everyone. We looked round the vast showroom, and ably assisted by a friendly advisor, decided that a Smeg double oven with five burners and a rotiserie for cooking chickens was just what my friend wanted. Unfortunate then that his budget was more suited to something a little more modest! Anyway, that's not A&S's fault and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for friendly service, an excellent range of products and service that is second to none. read more

I feel compelled to write this review of Affordable & Stylish (A&S) to try and help future customers make the right decision and look elsewhere for bathroom/kitchen/ plumbing services. The service we received for a straightforward bathroom upgrade was abysmal. I chose A&S as I had previously used them for a bathroom upgrade back in 2015, as a returning customer I would have thought that I would have received better service - how wrong I could have been. This review is long - so in summary for those who want to gauge whether to use A&S or not... look elsewhere. "Customer Service" is a term Adele nor Sue seem to understand and have been aggressive and unapproachable throughout the whole project. This project should have been finished in July 2021, however as I write this review now in March 2022 - only now has the final piece of work been completed. The bathroom work was started 22nd June 2021 and we were told it would take no longer than 10 working days - expecting a completed bathroom by 5th July 2021. Come 5th July, this was far from true and simply the beginning of what turned into a series of errors, interior damage, additional cost, and hateful customer service. Let me list the errors/ issues: 1. ordered to pay an additional £400 to fit the toilet as despite the design drawings being clear, A&S decided mid project they needed additional money to move a waste pipe about 10cm. 2. The plumber was called back at least 7 times to rectify a leaking sink 3. On first use of the bath, it would not drain at all - 2nd plumber came to rectify to find the 1st plumber had swept all the building rubbish under the bath and fitted a number of uphill joints in the waste pipe. 4. Underfloor heating blew all electricity in the house, resulting in all newly fitted tiling to be removed, new underfloor heating to be reinstalled and retiled 5. Large leak caused by plumber on kitchen ceiling (directly below bathroom) which tool A&S over 7 months to come and rectify. 6. Hideous customer service throughout. 7. A project which was sold to us with a completion date of 10 working days has taken over 9 months to finally finish. We wrote a letter of formal complaint on 14thSeptember 2021 which was not even acknowledged until 01st October 2021 (again after having to chase via phone). We then received a response on 25thOctober 2021. Without even going into the response, this lack of action to me is just completely unacceptable. How on earth are these people still in business when they treat customers like this?! A&S were not willing to take any responsibility for their actions, errors and didn't even acknowledge the damage they had made to our kitchen ceiling and had made no attempt to rectify. After many emails and heated phone calls were exchanged, we were left with no other choice but to threaten court action against them. At this point (funnily enough) Adele's attitude changed and we were invited to meet in person. Sue was unpolite and unprofessional in the meeting and seemed unwilling to cooperate. Despite the tone of every email we received from Adele since the initial complaint, she at least remained relatively professional and worked to finally resolve the issues for us - offering us money back and to finally resolve the damage to our kitchen. This was finally completed March 2022 - over 9 months since the initial works began. No courtesy call was received from A&S to see if we were satisfied with the rectification of the damage to our ceiling - another great example of how A&S do not care for their customers or the work they complete. Note to all potential future customers - I implore you to look elsewhere for plumbing/ bathroom/ kitchen services. I would not want this type of service/ project to be inflicted on any other person. You will see a balance of good and terrible reviews - I once had a good service from them back in 2015, but as you can see this seems to be hit & miss. And when it goes wrong, it goes very wrong. Save your money and stress and go to a reputable company who pride themselves on good customer service and excellent plumbing. affordable and stylish need to remodel their name as unreliable and a wast of time, I resently had a quote from sue ..one of the owners of the firm..who asked that I pay for the instaltion of a cooker hob and work tops at my address upfront whitch I agrred to. it took three weeks to complete this simple task which infact I had to complete myself at further cost because of her incompetence and constant lies do not entertain using this firm. mr cover read more

Made an enquiry over the telephone about a spare part for a washing machine said they had plenty .called in to pick up part (£ 27.00 ) it seemed a bit on he expensive side but was assured that all spares had recently had a price increase. Checked on the internet same part same brand inc delivery (£2.80). I rang up not looking for a refund but a explanation as to why they had charged so much the man on the phone could not put the manager on the phone but took my number and said he would call back .THEY DIDN'T I rang back before the close of day and the manager still wasn't available they again promised to call back within 5 minutes THEY DIDN'T. Called on Friday in a panic after breaking my hob and they were out and fitting it by the Tuesday, the two lads cleaned up after themselves and were quick, polite and efficient. The price was incredible and very competitive, have sent the details of your company onto my property management company as I was so impressed and grateful. Couldn't recommend more. read more

Saw the poor reviews and had to write one as this company does not deserve any poor reviews. They refitted my kitchen and my parents kitchen and we have been delighted every step of the way. My kitchen was totally gutted as it was an old 70's style and thanks to A&S I now have a beautiful, modern kitchen to be proud of! All refits and renovations have unexpected hiccups along the way but this company communicates well, deals with all issues and nothing is too much for this incredible family run business. It is scary knowing where to turn and who to trust when problems arise in your home but I can relax now as have found an amazing company who are honest, hard working but most of all care about their customer! read more

Just at a time when we could have done without it, yet another household appliance developed a fault. After making enquiries regarding a repair, it became clear that to repair the faulty fridge would not be a cost effective solution. It was then that we were advised to try A&S Domestics (now rebranded as - Affordable& stylish) in Barlow Moor Road, Chorlton. Sue took my call and suggested a suitable replacement and at a reasonable price. However as we had just recently had to pay for an expensive boiler repair we could'nt afford the expense at the present time and asked if the new fridge could be held for us after leaving a small deposit, as the item was on offer and the only one left in stock, Sue was willing to do this for us thus easing our stretched finances. If you are looking for a new kitchen or bathroom or just an an appliance or even need a repair ( they are also able to install items or complete bathrooms or kitchens) and carry a range of spares, I would suggest that you make this family owned company YOUR first port of call. Their showroom is superb and much larger inside than it looks from the outside with excellent displays to temp and inspire, and having friendly & knowledgeable staff, the shop was busy when we were there - always a good sign. This is a "one-stop" shop which can be warmly recommended and will be OUR first port of call the next time we are in need of any of their services. EXCELLENT! read more

We were let down badly by this company. I visited in April and arranged a start date in July that was convenient for us. I was told it would take 2-3 weeks in total. My kitchen was being gutted so there was a blank canvas for them and this was to be my dream kitchen. They didn't turn up the first day and came 2 days later with no explanation, despite having been booked in since April. I had a budget but because of their poor advice I ended up having to spend many thousands more than I anticipated. The kitchen was never finished to my satisfaction. Carl, their fitter, was supposed to be coming one Saturday in November (yes November!!!) to rectify the latest problem but we were told he wasn't coming that day. We've never heard from them since. I've had to live with a badly finished kitchen and wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Needless to say this is a much abridged version of the whole sorry saga. I am sooo disappointed with the service or rather lack of it I have received from this company. I waited for my cooker for 3 weeks each time being given various delivery dates and waiting in for the delivery that never came. I contacted the shop and spoke to Sue the manager who was initially lovely promising me compensation, but when I enquired further about the compensation she said "Well ya gonna get ya cooker now"!! After this things went from bad to worse, the cooker they delivered was a LPG cooker only fit for a caravan, the gas fitter who they gave me a number for obviously didn't notice and connected up the cooker but said that the gas was low and to call the manufacturer to sort out the problem, I was then charged £80 by their recommended gas installer and given no receipt (hmmmm......) I contacted the manufacturer who came out and was appalled that not only had I been sold a cooker not fit for purpose, but he also demanded to know who the COWBOY was who fitted the cooker and advised me to make a formal complaint. I contacted the shop and was told by Sue that it wasn't the shops fault as how are her staff meant to know whether it's a gas cooker or an LPG one! Unbelievable. I have asked for a full refund but they will only give me a cheque after they have picked up the incorrect cooker. Not happy at all! read more

Went to buy a washing machine here as ours had broken down. Relative used to work here so thought it would be ok... Forget it, washing machine itself was fine... however the installation was awful, three weeks to redrill the fitted kitchen doors, then the guy turned up a day early to fit it... luckily we were in. Damaged the door and after saeveral emails to Sue the owner they stopped replying to emails and contacts to have it put right. Promises that it would be sorted out and two months later still no reply..... the showroom looks impressive but the customer service is abysmal.... read more
