My daughter got into an car accident and at the time was not concerned about her AirPods lying on the floor of her car. Affordable towing towed her car to his yard. Went to get the stuff out of her car. AirPods were missing. Questioned the owner and he never got back to me. Tow truck driver stole them and owner will not admit it. A year ago my son also got into a car accident. I got a quote from the owner over the phone. Went later that day to pay to get car out and lot attendant told me it was over $100 more then I got quoted on the phone. Sunday March 15, ~1am, car got towed. Called later that morning to get cost info, etc, and was told to call back in a week. I asked to get belongings that I needed from the vehicle, and he said - or rather, yelled - that "it was only gone 7 days," and that "I could wait." Sunday, March 22 - called to inquire about the release of the vehicle. Was told that I had to wait until Monday, as he is "closed on Sunday." This phone call, which should have been quick and easy turned into a 2-hour long ordeal, as he chose to be argumentative and defiant, rather than courteous and understanding. After getting off the phone, I contacted the RCMP, and they were in agreement that the vehicle was to be released upon the opening of the business, since it was an RCMP seizure, and could not be held longer than 7 days, regardless of where those days fall. With further discussion, it was suggested that if the vehicle was not released, I could pursue charges of theft. The officer contacted the business owner, and informed him of the potential for legal action, and the owner said to come pick up the truck at noon. The officer, and myself went to the yard to retrieve the vehicle, and the owner again refused to release the vehicle because he was not open on Sundays, and said that there would be an added charge to take the vehicle off the lot today. The owner was argumentative, and opposed to the release of the vehicle, even in the midst of the officer. When discussing payment, the owner was insistent that it could only be a cash transaction, as he did not want to accept debit/credit payments on the weekend. Upon returning with cash, the owner drove my vehicle to the inside of the impound gate, locking the vehicle, and telling us to get the ---- off the property. He did this because the RCMP officer who was accompanying us had left to take care of more important police matters. The RCMP was called back to the lot, and the owner was continuing to be argumentative with us. I requested a detailed invoice for the services rendered, and the verbal discussion between the officer, the owner and myself regarding those services was different than what the invoice he gave me reflected. The pricing of the tow, the flat deck, and the storage rate were all higher than the verbal price he quoted, and there was GST added to the transaction which is contrary to the GST-exemption such a service has. Initial contact took place at 9am, and we were at the yard initially at noon, and finally we left at 2:30, with the vehicle, after being overcharged, disrespected, and taken advantage of. 1/10 would not recommend, unless you want to have an overall bad time read more

This company is a joke. They were supposed to tow my truck to my shop but they impounded it instead and then made me pay storage/impound fees on top of the towing. The yard and office is a joke. They are very rude to their customers. I suggest that no one deals with them. read more

I was trying to help out a person in a really bad fix who had had his vehicle towed by Affordable; not at their own request. All of His/Sons personal belongings were in the van & since; the Son at 29 has passed away. This man cannot afford towing or fees but merely wanted pictures & a few personal items belonging to his Son from the vehicle stored in the yard. I offered to give him a couple hundred to at least get the picture box & a few personnel items of the Sons; so he may be buried with some dignity as well. The owner at Affordable responded by being Rude, yelling, interrupting constantly & hanging up on me. He will get money for the vehicle & everything in it, what does he need their personal papers for? Just to be a Bully to someone who is misfortunate! One should be careful who they look down upon & judge so easily...some day it could be yourself in a bad fix! I would NOT recommend Affordable Towing to anyone. Zero Stars!!!!!!!! read more

If I could give a 0 rating I would. My experience with Affordable Towing was AWFUL! After getting into an accident due to freezing rain and having my vehicle on it's side on the side of Hwy 627, the RCMP (who were wonderful and helpful), called Affordable to tow my vehicle. I looked them up online to find out where they were located and found awful reviews and saw that others had horrible experiences with this company. It turns out this company has no webpage or any online presence. They are not even a member of the Better Business Bureau. I have filed a complaint with them as well. Here is my story with this AWFUL company... I contacted Affordable later in the day to inquire about my vehicle. I was told it would cost me $350 to pay for the tow and Affordable would get to keep the vehicle. If I wanted to go and pick up my vehicle and instead of letting them have it, it would cost me $680!!!! They were going to make me pay almost double to take my own vehicle! I arranged to go see the vehicle/pay the bill the next am, just 10.5 hours since they towed it to their yard (he charged me $140 for storing the vehicle 2 calendar days as it was overnight, even though it was less than even a day). The employee was waiting in his truck outside the locked gate and was very hesitant to let me go see my vehicle. I insisted that I needed to get the stuff from my vehicle and he grudgingly open the gate and took me to my vehicle. I was shocked to see that it was actually in great shape despite having rolled onto it's side during the accident the morning before. The car started and drove just fine. I told him I would be taking my car and he said then I would have to pay the $680! I said I wanted a breakdown of the costs and a receipt. he took me over to his office. The place was a shack that looked like no one had been in there for years. It was filthy with everything covered in dust and grime. He called someone and talked with them about the cost breakdown and came up with a list of charges. I recorded (being sure to not get his face in the video) our interaction and told him that I would go public with his dishonest practice. The recording is over 30 mins and at one point I had to call the RCMP to be sure he had no right to write down my husbands Drivers License number. He said he only wrote it down for customers who were suspicious. We were the suspicious ones?! The RCMP confirmed that he had no right to keep that info so I cut it off of his triplicate receipt that he had written it on. He would not budge on the price, we paid the bill and I told him he would regret being so dishonest and that I would be sure that the RCMP never called him again for tows. I have filed a complaint about this with the RCMP and Better Business Bureau. I may never get my money back from this crooked business, but hopefully he loses lots of business due to his dishonest ways and regrets his decision to rip me off. Boo Affordable Towing. Completely agree with others reviews. Henry has no people or customer service skills. He berated my wife when she didn't know her licence plate after they towed her car which made her cry. I intervened and confronted him about his demeanour and quickly identified a 'telephone tough guy' at the other end. Their equipment, yard and office are a joke. Further, no Business Licence, Safety Fitness Certificate, WCB or any other legally required document was posted at their place of business. They didn't use dollies as recommended by manufacturer and drug our AWD vehicle. When confronted about it I met with more arrogance and was told 'that's industry standard....' and got hung up on. While I'm sure the towing was professional, the treatment I received over the phone was rude and curt. Understanding full well he was driving, t least tell me the cost. $235. to go cross town? Give me a break. The RCMP contract this company. To remove vehicles from the hiway after collision. $35.00/ day is pretty standard. ?
