I could not have asked for a better lawyer. My husband, whose case Asma handled successfully, also thinks very highly of her capabilities as a lawyer and we both recommend Asma heartily and with full confidence. Her fees are very reasonable and I believe she still offers an easy payment plan to her clients. The only snag, and a minor one at that, was the delay it sometimes took in getting a response from her office about your case. Cleared of all charges…read more Posted by a client Hired attorney Jack Venturi was recommended to me while I was in Freehold NJ and was in custody. Mr. Venturi was recommended by another inmate who said he was an excellent attorney. In my research I found this to be true along with the media coverage of other cases to prove. The accusations against me were for a sex crime and my concern was that he mainly dealt with capital crimes such as murder. I contacted his staff and after our talk my family and I decided to hire Jack Venturi. Mr. Venturi immediately went to work. Not only was he able to get my bail lowered by HALF, extremely unheard of in a sex case, but he even help convince a bail bondsman to take my bond, and got me out of jail. After that, he put in several motions in the court, most of which we won and resulted in me going home to my family while we waited for the trail to come around. At trial time, Jack Venturi displayed his best work. During trial, not only was he able to prove that the DA's office was lying and misconceiving what was said in a recorded phone call, he also proved the supposed victim lied, and could not ID me IN COURT. Needless to say, the jury took a total of two hours, maybe three, and came back with a NOT GUILTY, on all counts. I had been charged with aggravated sexual assault on a minor, plus two counts of Child endangerment. This was not Mr. Venturi's specialty and he delivered a home run. It was an uphill battle all the way, but with the experience, ingenuity and drive of Jack Venturi I was able to get my life back. I am now living back with my family and two children in Arizona. The office told me many times that due to the simplicity of my case I would get a refund and would in no way owe more than my retainer agreement. After the court date, I received a bill for two thousand dollars more. I found many discrepancies on the itemized bill (phone calls that were ten minutes that I was charged an hour for, hundreds charged just for my initial inquiry, all sorts of botched time and hours for things that I did myself). I tried to explain them rationally with proof and was basically told that I was a moron (sorry but how does a phone call on my cell phone that shows 10 minutes equate to an hour when on the bill?) I even tried to compromise. I figured I'd have little luck trying to dispute something with an office that disputes things for a living but thought they'd be honest and say "oh no that was an error, or that there was a billing mistake, or let's figure this out together"). Now that I have filed an official dispute, I learned that this was not the first complaint made against this office. Now I'll most likely have to go to court or mediation to fight against charges that were incurred due to court/mediation. Ironic. Don't go to them unless you feel like being charged thousands of dollars extra for phantom work to then just have to attend court again to dispute it.
