I was recommended this place and I gave it a try. First and foremost, discernment. I was quoted at $730 dollars for brand new break pads and rotors. That discernment really came in to save the day. I appreciate the explanation as to why various points were missed, still, no excuse. However, prior to this experience, I took my car for 4 years to a small local and family owned business not too far. Bonus, their beliefs. So, I am familiar with one woman behind the desk, at this particular shop I love. Always prompt and clear in communication and sequence of events along with speaking with their lead mechanic to get the quotes. They take photos of everything and attach them and show them for educational purposes. Note, this place is packed every single week. There's weeks before you can get into their schedule at times, just to paint a fair picture for comparison. Along with multiple mechanics. But only one kind woman who works behind the desk. Well, I should have just stayed where I was before, despite this tempting recommendation. You quoted me at $730 for break pads and rotors. I called the other mechanic shop I've been going to for years, small family owned business and guess what the price was? $407!!!! I ask for the rest of the list you gave me and wait for their reply. And everything is off, by a lot of money. Mind you, the other business has no idea I went elsewhere and I'm now looking at inflated costs somewhere else. I feel quite fooled to say the least. And embarrassed to even mention this experience. I won't mention the other family owned business who's more aligned with doing what is right, out of respect. We reap what we sow. this company is VERY HONEST, they are not pushy on fixing small things that have nothing to do with the real problems of your car, they are very affordable and understanding. if you ask them to fix everything they find they will and they don't do a rushed job. they also listen to their customer. my dad is an experienced mechanic but is just too old to get under my car to fix certain issues like he used to. whenever we come to get my car looked at they listen to the things that my dad says are wrong with it and they don't try to pretend like they are superior to listening to another mechanic which I can appreciate. also, there are just some things that they can't do because of the computer systems in electric/hybrid cars which is totally understandable and they don't have a problem referring you to another mechanic that specializes in electric/hybrid cars. read more

Unless you are a morally corrupt individual and are looking to get a life insurance policy out of your family, then this is totally your place.. If you love your family, PLEASE heed my warning and DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE and look elsewhere for automotive repair. I came in for a simple brake job. After which still squeaked so then I was told I need a new calipers they did a rushed job and then closed. Suddenly there was a weird thumping sound over 20mph and when the vehicle was towed in, I was told I needed new struts, allegedly they had looked my vehicle over and couldn't find a damn thing. I took my car to a more reputable, big name (Midas off mission trail saved my family) and shock, I DIDN'T need new struts, turns out the thumping sound was a LOOSE CALIPER BOLT that the technician was able to just SLIDE OUT because NOTHING WAS TIGHTENED. I am reporting this business to the automotive repair bureau, but please save your wallet and your family and do not come to this establishment. read more

We are so thankful to have found an honest mechanic. Our dear friend who owned a shop in town sold and moved out of California since him it's been hard to find someone that isn't unreasonably priced and honest. Quick story... we purchased a used Ford F150 from a local dealership, husband and I were so excited because the truck was beautiful and we FINALLY saved enough to finance it. Fast forward to 8mths after purchase and the truck began to have a faint smell of burnt oil coming from the vents. No other mechanical issues. Since the truck is under "warranty" we took to the dealership for inspection. We were hit with $8000 worth of issues :( and zero support from the dealership or warranty company. I was without a truck for 3mths while we waited on long term back ordered parts, also had to save to have the issue fixed. Thankfully the community recommended Agape because they installed our parts for a reasonable price. After having a few issues after installation and a couple a trips back and forth they fixed the problem. It's been a week now and the truck seems to be running great, no more burnt oil! This frikin place tried to repair my cracked engine mount with jb weld. They pretend to have the love of Jesus. Last time I checked Jesus didn't slam my door hard enough to make my door come apart. Also had to take my car in 3 times for a power steering and got charged over 1200 only to be waiting for a total of 1 and a half months and get smoke blown in my face about the repairs. So many other places. Don't give these undeserving worthless excuses for mechanics another penny unless you want terrible service rude customer service and a problem that is not fixed. read more

These people suck. Agape clearly has no knowledge on transmissions or customer service for that matter. They get an effin zero. I've paid 1600 dollars for a half assed installation of a new clutch, only for me to come back after two months because of slipping clutch. Jessica was cool. It's Al and his inept "technicians" that sucked. ho seems. Sure, I provided my own parts which voided the warranty, but I expected them to at least do a good job installing the clutch. They are saying the kit is faulty (of course, because they would circumvent litigation or liability) but after two effin months?! And the car fails to start after a long drive. So in other words, the car was definitely in worse shape than when i took it in to agape. Agape are exploiting people by using the word agape in their name. I honestly thought these guys would be genuine, but that was a grave mis assessment on my end. If you have a transmission job that needs to be done, or ANY job for that matter, look elsewhere. Now I am down 1600 because they did a half assed job installing the clutch. Please for the love of god, don't get your car fixed in agape. read more

My jeep was overheating, I took it to Agape right before thanksgiving. He said he wouldn't be able to look at it until Monday & that's fine as I was in no hurry. Tuesday rolls around he calls my husband & states it's a cracked head & will be somewhere towards $4000. As my husband is driving home the Jeep starts to really overheat, I mean red lining! He pulls over on the side of the freeway & looks under the hood, seeing they did not put back on the radiator cap. We called & got the $110 back that we paid to have it diagnosed. He apologized & issued the refund. I then contacted a other mechanic & he did a pressurized test. Come find out, it's the oil cooler that was leaking & not a cracked head!! Turns out the parts & labor were only $800 compared to the $4000 Agape wanted. OMG this guy is a crook! I have a feeling he didn't even look at the jeep because the mechanic hooked it up to the tester & bam found the leak right away. BEWARE OF THIS GUY! I gave Agape Auto Repair a Zero star. took my Honda Civic to Agape in Temecula for an oil change this morning. They charged me $20 for tire rotation and tried to charge me over $60 for the HVAC and the engine filters. I'm very disappointed and will NEVER patronize this business anymore. There are plenty other quality car repair shops in the Temecula/Murrieta area so don't take your car to Agape in Temecula any more. There's nothing worse than feeling being cheated on and ripped off. This business has been in town since 1988 and still tries to disrespect their customers by this ridiculous price scams. Don't patronize Agape!! Don't pay $20 for tire rotation during a regular oil change. Later on I read that these two tricks - ripping customers off by ridiculous price on tire rotations and replacing filters - are common among auto repair shops. However, I didn't expect that Agape with 31 years of history in the community, still relies on these cheap tricks to fool customers. SO DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO AGAPE! Al is the most honest mechanic I've ever met. I don't normally write review updates, but I owe it to him. I have a 2002 Mitsu Galant that's been parked in my garage since October 2010. The timing belt snapped and instead of getting it fixed, I bought a new car instead. Impractical? I should think so. But due to foreseen circumstances, it was time to bring the Galant out of hiding. I knew the timing belt needed to be replaced but I didn't know that there were other components that needed upgrading as well. I also got a new starter and an Idle Control Valve. Mind you, only the dealer makes the control valve (this is an important detail that will be revisited at the end of the review). So here's a list of items that were replaced with either factory or factory-quality parts: Timing belt Water Pump Bearing (timing belt) Starter Idle Control Valve This was a major repair and my bottom line was lower than I expected. You see, Al's been in business so long that suppliers give him better deals than other mechanics. Not only that, he pays his suppliers on time. After 24 years in the same location, you can rest assured that you will get the best price on the best part for your vehicle. If you want to know how much I paid for everything, then please message me and I'll gladly gloat. But the car is running like a champ again and I only have Al to thank. If I could give more stars I would. I had just bought a used car and it broke:( I took it to Al, we thought it was fixed and as I drove it home to Hemet, it broke again. The real test of a good business is when something goes wrong. First, Al told me not to worry about the tow. He's got it covered. Then, as soon as it got back to the shop he took it out and test drove it until it did the same thing it had done to me. He even put more gas into it to make sure he knew what it was doing. Then he brought it back and troubleshot it until the diagnosis was right. All he charged me for was the new part. It was hundreds of dollars that he knocked off right there to get it right for a brand new customer who he had never seen before. Well done Al! You have made a repeat customer! Very disappointed with the service at Agape Auto Repair. I brought my truck in to have Al diagnose a noise that was coming from the driver's side rear wheel area. A couple of hours later he called to tell me that it was a metal shim hitting my brake disc and that he fixed it. He then asked if there was anything else I wanted him to check out since that only took him a half hour to fix the noise. So I had him take a look at my passenger window which the regulator was going out and he recommended disconnecting it, so I said yea let's do it. First thing I noticed when I went to pick up my truck was the passenger window was 1/4 rolled down, since the regulator was disconnected I couldn't roll it up, so I had him fix it right there not a big issue but just looked like the job was rushed, being it was a Friday at 4pm. Driving away, not a block away I heard the noise again, so I turned around and brought it back. Al said let's go for a ride and he hopped in and I pointed out the noise to him as we drove, he said "oh that, that's nothing, that's not a big deal." To me, that is not the point, I brought my truck in for him to diagnose and fix a specific noise coming from my drivers side rear wheel area, which he obviously did not do and just brushed me off. As I drove home the noise got louder which I was not happy with. Upon arriving home I noticed my drivers side rear tire had a gash in the sidewall and I had to get it replaced. I called Al at 4:54 that Friday and he did not answer or call back, so Monday I got my tire replaced and went in to Agape to talk to Al. He instantly got defensive when I brought up my tire gash and I said "look I'm not here to argue with you, i just want you to know I am very disappointed in your work, it seemed rushed and not very thorough." I was charged $175 for this service and ended up needing to get a new tire, so all in all, lesson learned, I am posting this to warn others in the area. Al seems like a good guy, but who ever he has working in the back seems in-experienced and not very detail oriented and that is a direct reflection on Al and his business. read more

The owner, Al, is everything you want from a mechanic and portrays an incredibly courteous, friendly, cheerful, professional and honest character. You are not left with any doubts or wondering what you paid for - as a female 20-something - this is a very comforting feeling! So today I noticed a bolt in my garage accompanied by rattling and vibration from my engine while driving in 1st and 2nd gear. I immediately gave Al a call to tell him what I had found. Without hesitation, he invited me to bring the car in to have a look at where the bolt came from. Thank God I did - the mount from which the bolt fell out from was shot! The problem with my car was bigger than I hoped as I suspected...here's the kicker: Al had a guy from an auto body shop come and inspect & advise on my car, like it was nothing!!! He estimated the time & possible cost associated with the necessary repairs...next thing I know, I'm leaving with the promise of a best case scenario quote to follow.... What you might have missed is this, he didn't say, sorry, I can't help you, go down the street & talk to some other guy, take more time out of your day, incur charges at his shop. Then come find me later to fix it later. No smoke & mirrors...the phone calls etc were right in front of me, no odd feeling that. "I really don't need most of this stuff he's suggesting but I probably should get it done before something bad happens" I will definitely be back.
