This review is for the "speaktiki" portion of the restaurant- a speakeasy-style room that's hidden behind a door inside the restaurant. It's really dark, and really cute. There's a hostess stand that I assume would have asked for ID, because it's only appetizers and mixed drinks. We had 4 people and sat at a coffee-sized table, one side a bench, the other chairs. The server was lovely, explained all the appetizers and even told us which ones came in a quantity of four (for easy sharing). She also knew a LOT about the drinks- which was sweeter, sour, etc- which made a lot more sense when we saw her go back to the bar and make them herself! We ordered one of each app. They were all good, but I think the favorites were the volcano honey shrimp, the tenderloin crunch rice, and the chicken and veggie skewers. I'm not a fan of hummus, but it was pretty cool when she actually took a torch and lit it on fire; the shrimp pineapple bowl was good, but had corn (which I'm also not a fan of, so i was picking it all out like a child); and the chicken flautas to me were sort of dry- those were the least favorite. The music was laid back, but did get progressively louder as the evening wore on, so I'd probably not recommend it for a first date when you're trying to get to know someone. Unless you've already decided the first date sucks and don't really want to talk to them much. I'm sorry I didn't get a picture of the drink menu to post, so I don't remember the drink names, but all of us were happy. For one of each app plus 8 mixed drinks, the tab came around $250 (without tip, but with taxes), so i can only guess that the drinks were fairly priced for what they were. The pours were heavy, and after two we all had a nice little buzz. Service, ambience, food was all great; I'm looking forward to taking a few other friends in the future! read more

Had a really good experience at Agave Bandido. The food was good, the atmosphere was on point, and the service was even better. Hector, the manager, really stood out. He went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and checked in throughout the night. You can tell he actually cares about the customer experience, and that made a big difference. I came here on Saturday to have a drink and had a great time. The service was good and the prices are very decent. I had a passionfruit margarita and it was very refreshing. The DJ played great music and we could still talk to each other without screaming. I loved the restaurant decoration, especially the confessional section. I ordered the quesadilla with steak and platnos (an added touch that was recommended to me by our waitress) and it was delicious! Always a great time at Agave Bandido. Whether it's lunch, dinner or happy hour, this Mexican restaurant and bar always has good vibes. I absolutely love the open concept and the wrap around bar. It's great for getting bartender's attention and mingling. We were recently here for Friday night happy hour. They had a great DJ going and the bartenders were mixing some great drinks. They also have a speakeasy located inside of the restaurant. It's a more mellow and chill vibe with low music and dim lighting. Good for a date night. Staff and service were excellent. My only complaint here is the bathroom situation. For a restaurant this size with a steady influx of people, they have two stalls in the female bathroom. Specifically, two cramped stalls. On this particular night, it was filthy. I at least expected management to have cleaning staff on duty for busy hours. read more

We have been here many times but today was a total disappointment. Trust me when I say our bill is always high as we six in our family! They brought a tiny container with salsa and chips like for two people. Fajitas were good but very small portion. Now to the worst parts! The bathrooms are disgusting and you cannot hear yourself think, and don't even try to have a conversation. Even the servers were having a difficult time hearing us. I want to say that this is probably a good spot for happy hour, but I went for a chill low key dinner with my mom. We had never been and saw that they played Spanish music. The music was my favorite part, too bad no body was dancing. The place was not packed for a friday night which normally tells you how good or bad a place can be. The staff is friendly and helpful, though service can be a little on the slower side. We started with complimentary chips and salsa, which were fresh and tasty. I also ordered a passion fruit margarita that was amazing, but unfortunately, it took so long to arrive that my entrée came out before the drink. For my main, I went with the Adobo Chicken Chimichanga, and it did not disappoint. The portion was generous enough that I had leftovers to enjoy the next day. The chimichanga was stuffed with refried beans, Mexican rice, and pulled chicken, then topped with Monterey and Colby Jack cheese, ranchero sauce, cotija, and cilantro. It came with pico de gallo, lettuce, and sour cream on the side. Overall, a really enjoyable experience. I am extremely disappointed with the management at Agave Bandido in Pembroke Pines. I want to start by saying that the restaurant itself is beautiful, the atmosphere is amazing, and the food is truly excellent. It's a great place to dine, and the overall experience for customers has so much potential. However, Hector the manager, speaks to employees in a manner that I found incredibly rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. Hearing a manager address staff this way was uncomfortable and unacceptable. A manager should lead by example and foster a respectful work environment, not intimidate or belittle employees. No employee deserves to be spoken to in such a disrespectful manner, especially in front of others. The lack of professionalism, respect, and basic decency displayed toward the staff was truly shocking. It's unfortunate because Agave Bandido is a beautiful restaurant with excellent food and a great atmosphere. However, the way employees are treated behind the scenes says a lot about an establishment and its leadership. Great food and a beautiful location should be matched with management that treats its employees with the same level of respect. I sincerely hope the owners or upper management take this concern seriously. The restaurant has so much to offer, but everyone deserves to work in an environment where they feel respected, valued, and treated with basic human decency. read more

I order from here often but I've only been to the restaurant a couple of times. The first time I came with some friends on a weekend, it was pretty busy. We had to wait for a table but the wait time was minimal. Our server was nice and food was delicious. I ordered tacos and Guac for the table. The second time I came with a friend to the bar, we sat outside. The bartenders didn't even acknowledge us, I had to wave her down even though it wasn't busy. She approached us with a slight attitude but took our order promptly. Bar service definitely needs some improvement. My coworkers surprised me with a happy hour to celebrate my promotion at work. I had never been to this place but as we pulled up I liked how it had indoor/outdoor options. I visited this Mexican restaurant on a Tuesday for their Taco Tuesday special, and it was an overall great experience! The atmosphere is vibrant and beautifully decorated definitely one of the more aesthetically pleasing spots I've been to lately. I arrived around 5:30 PM and was seated quickly. The service was consistently good; on both of my visits, the waitstaff was friendly and helpful with recommendations. I ordered the carne asada tacos, which came with cilantro rice and refried beans on the side. Everything was flavorful and well prepared. The carne asada was juicy and seasoned just right. I paired it with a Coke (cause who has tacos without a Coca-Cola ?) and for dessert, I couldn't resist the churros crispy on the outside, soft inside, and served warm. So good! The Taco Tuesday deal 50% off taco entrées is a major win. At 8 PM, a live mariachi trio began performing. They were incredibly talented and really elevated the dining experience. That said, the music (along with the general noise level) got louder as the night went on, which made conversation a bit difficult. I came here the ladies night which offers free drinks and with a DJ playing music. I asked the server and he told me that I was too late for the free drinks. The free drinks are on Thursdays from 6pm-9pm. The server that I had was ok he was as attentive. I had to ask for him to refill my cup with water. Ladies!! If you are looking for the best happy hour on Thursday nights, I highly suggest Agave Bandido! Ladies night is every Thursday from 6:00-9:00pm and the drinks are absolutely free and very tasty! I drank strawberry margarita the entire night. First time visiting this restaurant, the staff was very welcoming. We decided to dine in. The venue had a very vibrant art design with wood and leather furniture and a very unique and colorful decor. We were assisted by Carolina, she took great care of us. As for the food we ordered the steak fajitas and the barbacoa nachos. For drinks a modelo and the bandido traditional margarita. (Excellent flavor) The nachos were very good, lots of meat, sour cream and shredded cheese, really enjoyed the freshness of the tortilla chips. As for the fajitas the meat was burn and overcooked. Fortunately we were able to change the fajitas but the second time the dish tasted so much better. The fajitas were served with sizzling onions and peppers and a side of lettuce, sour cream, pico de Gallo, shredded and cheese 4 tortillas (flour or corn). As for the service, it was outstanding. Carolina was , attentive and hospitable. She provided an outstanding service and made sure we enjoyed our overall experience. For 19.99 you can get unlimited tacos and mix and match from a huge variety on the menu! I personally tried five different types of tacos, but there was closer to 8 different types! Out of all the tacos I tried, I say the carnitas was my favorite! They have a great amount of cilantro, and cubed onions on top of the the flavorful carnitas. It packs a little tiny spice to add more flavor that is addicting! You also can't go wrong with their margaritas of which I am a huge fan of their classic margs. Well then comes the AC issue they said it off and on which was ok since it wasnt that bad. We said its ok..So then we ordered drinks while deciding food choices. Funny thing is 30-45 mins passed be the waiter came back to ask us anything really. We placed our order so we didn't want to cause any distractions or disturbance. I will say this..if you have to wait for someone to come to you group as if its a favor, time to get up an leave. Not only was the service quality subpar, its was hot and uncomfortable, the food took an hour and 37mins for a party of 5. At the end of the meal the server was pressing for payment. Beautiful restaurant with outside seating. I was told my coworkers this place is bomb so we had to try out for ourselves. I had Moscow mule and had steak tacos. The drinks had good amount of alcohol and mix. The tacos were delicious and well presented. I would definitely order again. The queso dip was also very good. But the salsa dip needs more flavor.
