I genuinely don't understand why Agave Bandido is not rated higher. They have a quality, beautiful atmosphere, the friendliest staff and amazing drink and food. Now this is my all means Americanized Mexican food however it's fresh and delicious! They do have all the staples. I really loved seeing their luxe speakeasy I plan to return to. I ordered the quesadilla with steak and platnos (an added touch that was recommended to me by our waitress) and it was delicious! This review is for the "speaktiki" portion of the restaurant- a speakeasy-style room that's hidden behind a door inside the restaurant. It's really dark, and really cute. There's a hostess stand that I assume would have asked for ID, because it's only appetizers and mixed drinks. We had 4 people and sat at a coffee-sized table, one side a bench, the other chairs. The server was lovely, explained all the appetizers and even told us which ones came in a quantity of four (for easy sharing). She also knew a LOT about the drinks- which was sweeter, sour, etc- which made a lot more sense when we saw her go back to the bar and make them herself! We ordered one of each app. They were all good, but I think the favorites were the volcano honey shrimp, the tenderloin crunch rice, and the chicken and veggie skewers. I'm not a fan of hummus, but it was pretty cool when she actually took a torch and lit it on fire; the shrimp pineapple bowl was good, but had corn (which I'm also not a fan of, so i was picking it all out like a child); and the chicken flautas to me were sort of dry- those were the least favorite. The music was laid back, but did get progressively louder as the evening wore on, so I'd probably not recommend it for a first date when you're trying to get to know someone. Unless you've already decided the first date sucks and don't really want to talk to them much. I'm sorry I didn't get a picture of the drink menu to post, so I don't remember the drink names, but all of us were happy. For one of each app plus 8 mixed drinks, the tab came around $250 (without tip, but with taxes), so i can only guess that the drinks were fairly priced for what they were. Not for me. Service was terrible! And the place wasn't even full! Was told there was a 30-45 minutes wait time on a table for 6. I left at midnight and no table....good thing i was sitting in the bar area. Requested beer buckets, the bartender placed the ice first and the beer on top of the ice. He did that twice! Always a great time at Agave Bandido. Whether it's lunch, dinner or happy hour, this Mexican restaurant and bar always has good vibes. I absolutely love the open concept and the wrap around bar. It's great for getting bartender's attention and mingling. We were recently here for Friday night happy hour. They had a great DJ going and the bartenders were mixing some great drinks. They also have a speakeasy located inside of the restaurant. It's a more mellow and chill vibe with low music and dim lighting. Good for a date night. Staff and service were excellent. My only complaint here is the bathroom situation. For a restaurant this size with a steady influx of people, they have two stalls in the female bathroom. Specifically, two cramped stalls. I want to say that this is probably a good spot for happy hour, but I went for a chill low key dinner with my mom. We had never been and saw that they played Spanish music. The music was my favorite part, too bad no body was dancing. The place was not packed for a friday night which normally tells you how good or bad a place can be. We had to wait for a table but the wait time was minimal. Our server was nice and food was delicious. I ordered tacos and Guac for the table. The second time I came with a friend to the bar, we sat outside. The bartenders didn't even acknowledge us, I had to wave her down even though it wasn't busy. She approached us with a slight attitude but took our order promptly. Bar service definitely needs some improvement. I also ordered a passion fruit margarita that was amazing, but unfortunately, it took so long to arrive that my entrée came out before the drink. For my main, I went with the Adobo Chicken Chimichanga, and it did not disappoint. The portion was generous enough that I had leftovers to enjoy the next day. The chimichanga was stuffed with refried beans, Mexican rice, and pulled chicken, then topped with Monterey and Colby Jack cheese, ranchero sauce, cotija, and cilantro. It came with pico de gallo, lettuce, and sour cream on the side. Overall, a really enjoyable experience. I visited this Mexican restaurant on a Tuesday for their Taco Tuesday special, and it was an overall great experience! The atmosphere is vibrant and beautifully decorated definitely one of the more aesthetically pleasing spots I've been to lately. I arrived around 5:30 PM and was seated quickly. The service was consistently good; on both of my visits, the waitstaff was friendly and helpful with recommendations. I ordered the carne asada tacos, which came with cilantro rice and refried beans on the side. Everything was flavorful and well prepared. The carne asada was juicy and seasoned just right. I paired it with a Coke (cause who has tacos without a Coca-Cola ?) and for dessert, I couldn't resist the churros crispy on the outside, soft inside, and served warm. So good! The Taco Tuesday deal 50% off taco entrées is a major win. At 8 PM, a live mariachi trio began performing. They were incredibly talented and really elevated the dining experience. That said, the music (along with the general noise level) got louder as the night went on, which made conversation a bit difficult. We tried the fajitas to share as well as a quesadilla to share. No complaints with the food or the service as a service with super quick during our weeknight visit,. I came here the ladies night which offers free drinks and with a DJ playing music. I asked the server and he told me that I was too late for the free drinks. The free drinks are on Thursdays from 6pm-9pm. The server that I had was ok he was as attentive. I had to ask for him to refill my cup with water. Nice option to stop at after a full day of shopping in Pembroke Gardens. It is also pet friendly with seating in the outdoor patio and by the bar outside. During the week, they have a decent happy hour including drinks and food. The salad I had was delicious and flavorful but my tequila paloma not so much, it was too juicy for my taste. Ladies!! If you are looking for the best happy hour on Thursday nights, I highly suggest Agave Bandido! Ladies night is every Thursday from 6:00-9:00pm and the drinks are absolutely free and very tasty! I drank strawberry margarita the entire night. First time visiting this restaurant, the staff was very welcoming. We decided to dine in. The venue had a very vibrant art design with wood and leather furniture and a very unique and colorful decor. We were assisted by Carolina, she took great care of us. As for the food we ordered the steak fajitas and the barbacoa nachos. For drinks a modelo and the bandido traditional margarita. (Excellent flavor) The nachos were very good, lots of meat, sour cream and shredded cheese, really enjoyed the freshness of the tortilla chips. As for the fajitas the meat was burn and overcooked. Fortunately we were able to change the fajitas but the second time the dish tasted so much better. The fajitas were served with sizzling onions and peppers and a side of lettuce, sour cream, pico de Gallo, shredded and cheese 4 tortillas (flour or corn). As for the service, it was outstanding. For 19.99 you can get unlimited tacos and mix and match from a huge variety on the menu! I personally tried five different types of tacos, but there was closer to 8 different types! Out of all the tacos I tried, I say the carnitas was my favorite! They have a great amount of cilantro, and cubed onions on top of the the flavorful carnitas. It packs a little tiny spice to add more flavor that is addicting! You also can't go wrong with their margaritas of which I am a huge fan of their classic margs. Well the table side guacamole was good ; let's say better than good. The main (Steak Fajitas) was average at best; I would have expected I better beef to veggies ratio and the beef was not of a quality grade. I do have to say the refried bean was actually real good. The issue here is that a Tex-Mex restaurant need to stand out but not just due to their guacamole and refried beans but for the overall meal. But also they need ti work on their service. Wild Halloween costume party at this Pembroke Gardens Mexican restaurant/bar. The outside patio bar had lots of people dancing to Salsa Techno tunes. We got a table inside very quickly but could not get anywhere near the bar since it was a Ladies Drink Free Night only from 7p - 8p. The halloween decor was top notch and loved how the staff was also dressed up with scary costumes. We ordered vodka and craft beer drinks from our friendly waitress, Ashley, who took our appetizer order too. Ashley brought us the complimentary overflowing chips & salsa basket. The Trio Guacamole appetizer came out quickly which consisted of Pineapple Bacon, Chili Salsa, Corn. My favorite was easily the pineapple bacon and scooped it up with our free chips. She was really busy so we were patient and she was very nice. Mexican drinks I ordered a spicy margarita and it was very well decorated good flavor spicy for real but on top of it was the chili beware!!! my wife margaritas were awesome and very good prices on food and on drinks very fair. The only Neg was that we had a group of people come in behind the bar, which is kind of only like 3 feet wide from our chair and it was a big group and they were drinking and partying which of course I do too. I love it, but they started dancing bumping into people so we just took off but other than that this is a great place good food by the way the quesadillas with the Barbacoa are excellent and the chicken quesadillas with cheese I will try both of them. My only issue is that the music is so loud, the waitress has to stoop close to you to hear what you're saying even though I'm shouting, so even convos at the table can be difficult.
