I'm really not the one to give a 1 star review but I had to. I came in to agave for Valentine's Day with my lady and we had a reservation which first off we weren't on the list but got seated anyways. We were then told which I believe should've been the owner or manager we had to move to a different table and he'll give us a free margarita on the house. Our waiter arrived to wipe down the table because the table we were changed to was dirty and we put in a order for drinks and a appetizer and asked if she can come back in 5 minutes to take our main dish order. It took over 20 minutes to get our drink and our waiter quickly rushed away and this was the last interaction we had and got checked up on from this point. Keep in mind we got seated at 8:15 PM and we got our drinks around 8:45. From this point no one came up to us to put in our entree order and me and my date were starving and our waiter was serving others around us but was completely ignoring us and rushing away. Finally after 9:30 PM after more than 1 hour of not receiving our appetizer we put or nor our waiter putting in our main dish I asked for the check for the 2 drinks I ordered and left. Never have I ever gotten up from a restaurant table and left because of bad service and I been here at this spot couple times and even on holidays and never received this treatment. The manager then gave us complimentary appetizer and dessert but at this point I wanted to leave and did not even touch it. I shouldn't have to complain and ask for my check for you guys to finally give what I wanted. On top of that we never got the free drinks we were promised. Thanks agave for messing up my valentines date night, we ended up eating Wendy's 10 piece chicken nuggets and fries that were given to us in 2 minutes. read more

We ordered the loaded nachos for the table and the serving size was good enough for 3-4 people. There was a ton of toppings and they did not cheap out on the meat. For my main dish, I ordered the steak tacos. A++ for serving size since it was 4 tacos with a lot of meat for $15. Only complaint is that I wish the tacos had more flavor. I had to put a LOT of green sauce to get it how I like but otherwise the food was pretty good. We also shared a tres leches dessert. Honestly, this tasted more like tiramisu than tres leches. The cake had a coffee flavor to it which was not my favorite and would not order again. Overall, I would come back again to try their other dishes. Agave Cocina was an enjoyable meal. The restaurant is not large, but it's well decorated and clean. Our server, Katherine, was attentive and gave good recommendations. My Coconut Margarita was INCREDIBLE and strong. The presentation was stunning and the pink salt was nicely painted from rim to bottom. The coconut flakes, that adorned the surface, enhanced the entire drink. Highly recommended. The Chicken Bowl was served in a cool bowl and was large enough to take some home.  The two chicken, Taco Tuesday, selection was flavorful and both were well seasoned. Truly disappointed. Went there tonight for Taco Tuesday and it wasn't worth the wait nor the frustration. The orders took forever to come out and they even forgot my husband food. No one came to check on us. We asked the bartender to assist us since there was only 1 waitress. We finished few our tacos & no one noticed he never got his food. Came here on a Saturday afternoon for Brunch and I was pleasantly surprised. I've been here before a few years prior for dinner and it was meh experience and didn't feel a need to return. We made a reservation for 20 people on a Saturday night. They were able to accommodate us for our friend's birthday dinner. We show up and pull into the lot, only for the valet to wave us away without speaking to us. We had to park 4 blocks away. Service was extremely slow and our table ordered drinks early, only to get a weird look, but the drinks took forever! I really don't like that there's no pricing for the alcohol on the menu. Some people in the party said their food was good. A lot of us found the food to be very bland. I had the salmon avocado salad. While it was well dressed, it was the same stringy lettuce they use for garnish. For $25, that is unacceptable. The bathrooms are disgusting. Women were complaining that the toilets were clogged and it took 3 flushes to go down. Their happy birthday song consists of horrific plastic whistle, sparklers and a sad clapping song. This is a new layer of hell. I felt like I needed to escape. This was a very frustrating and lackluster experience. I wouldn't make the trip back or recommend this place to a friend. read more

This place is fantastic!! Looks small, but inside is big. Has a front area, bar area and back area. They have parking, but that is tight and most nights it's valet. There is side street parking, which I would suggest. Good is phenomenal and the take out is just as good as dine in. I had ordered in and the service was great. Margaritas were great. The music was soooo on point, I was dancing in my chair all morning! haha One could argue the music was too loud and could barely have conversation without shouting....however this is the option we chose. If I could give this 4.5 stars, I would. Four of us met for a late lunch at the Queen Anne restaurant the day before Thanksgiving. It was smokey and muy fuerte!. For food, we started with the chips and salsa, which came with two salsas, a traditional red and a hot hot green. Both were very good. The green was too hot for my parents, leaving more for my wife and me. The menu, even for lunch, has a lot of great choices. I selected the empanadas. The plate came with two very well cooked and seasoned empanadas -- mildly spiced -- a creamy roasted corn (which I loved) and a nice poblano-lime cream, queso fresco, pickled red onion. Visited this restaraunt with a group of about 7/8. We were seated in the back at a long table. We were the only people in the back. We were given guac and chips and informed that the heat in the back was down. We saw a heater by our table and asked the waitress to turn it on for us because it was cold. We ordered drinks and tried to warm up but it wasn't happening. There was a draft entering from the door that was right next to our table. A waitress and (who I think is) the owner came over to us and told us they would clear a table for us once one large enough was available in the front. Although this was not ideal they did an amazing job making up for it with their service. They brought us guac and chips and took our orders. They moved us to the front quickly once the table left. They brought us shots on the house and apologized to us again. The food was good and the margaritas are great! I had two coconut margaritas which were very well made. The atmosphere here is good for a casual dinner date or to meet with a group of friends. The owner informed us that they have a dj on the weekends and bottomless brunch in the back. I've been to Agave Cocina two times and both experiences were great! They have happy hour from 12-6 and their margaritas are good (and strong)! I ordered the chicken tacos and my boyfriend ordered chicken enchiladas and we were stuffed. I had an option to add on guac, sour cream, rice and beans to my meal which didn't cost too much and was a great addition. We came here specifically for the weekday happy hour. We sat outside and decided to order from the happy hour drink menu. I asked the server what flavors of margarita are available as part of the Happy Hour, she gave us a couple of options(she conveyed Mongo and Hibiscus are offered as part of HH), and we decided to order Mango and Hibiscus margarita. The drinks were good, but this is why the place gets 2 stars, when the bill came out, the drinks were charged as full price($12) vs the happy hour price($5). When we asked our server, why are we being charged full price....she said, there are only 2-3 flavors available for Happy Hour, and the rest are full price. We actually felt cheated, as she told us that all flavors are available in HH. Instead of apologizing, she made it sound like it was our mistake. We didn't argue and this is not about few extra dollars but doing business ethically so pretty bummed about the whole situation. On the positive side, my $12 margarita was good, but I can't comment on HH menu drinks, as we never got a chance to try them :( read more

We finally got to place our order, calamari was a nice light appetizer. Molcajete ($40) was a good sharing meal. And the fish tacos were good too. Ordered the margarita flight which is a great way to try different margarita flavors. The mango margarita was my favorite flavor. The sangria drink were really good. Used to love this place but I was here the other day and ran into 2 issues. 1. Their diet coke was awful and the fact they served it to me and called it Diet Coke is absolutely outrageous. 2. I ordered a burrito bowl and in the description of the burrito bowl it includes sour cream. when I got my food there was no sour cream so I asked them for sour cream. when we got the bill there was a charge on there for sour cream. which is outrageous. if you are going to charge me for sour cream, that's fine but do NOT have it in the description of what I am ordering then. The chips and salsa were ready to go when we got there and I love me some homemade salsa so I kept asking for more. The margarita flight was super tasty. If I went back I'd probably just get myself a passion fruit margarita which was BOMB. We got the molcajete which had a variety of grilled meats with quest fundido, rice, beans and tortillas. It was super filling for 2 people and all the food was great. I personally like the steak and chicken best but everything in it (steak, chicken, beef, pork, sausage, shrimp) was delicious and we demolished it. That's the description, however, it was imitation crab and baby shrimp. The dressing was tasty but a disappointment due to the inferior ingredients. Their original marg packs a lot of liquor so watch out for that one. I decided on chicken tostadas for my meal and my friends both got quesadillas, one chicken and one beef. My tostadas were good - piled high with fresh toppings. I liked them, my friends also loved their quesadillas. They were perfectly grilled and stuffed with tons of meat and cheese. This place has more of a Tex mix kind of vibe for me with the food but it's still delicious. It's the perfect place for lunch, I really enjoyed the drinks.
