Caterina's warmth, energy, and excitement while describing each meal make every dining experience memorable. One evening, she introduced me to an exquisite selection of local cheeses, each with its own unique character and story, adding yet another layer to the cultural experience. The cuisine throughout the week was both diverse and exceptional. Every meal showcased the flavors of the region, and it was impossible to leave the table hungry. Beyond the daily dining experience, the hotel also organized a winery dinner and wine tasting, gnocchi cooking class, and a boat tour, all of which further enriched the week. The lines where very long when we reached Sirmoine for both directions on Lake Garda. I wanted to try the ferry in one direction and the cab in the other. First, there is not an abundance of cabs in Sirmione and I saw lines of people waiting for cabs. Then, the cab driver charged me an "extra fee because I only had one person and it was high-season" and €2 more because I wanted to charge it on my credit card. So, the drive from Sirmoine to Desenzano train station takes longer and was six times more expensive. If the weather is nice, I think I would just take the ferry. Some ferries you can bring cars, bikes, and limited luggage. Some offer food and beverages. The prices, of course, are based on how far you travel in the lake. It's ideal for a three day- trip. This lovely city is known for its beautiful landscape, historical buildings and Shakespear. I loved everything about this cosy city. The best way to become familiar with the city is by bike. You can rent an e-bike or scooter and discover the landmarks of Verona. Their team is professional and extremely patient. Some rooms in the old walls, a reception with free wifi, a warm pool and a green area. I missed the big trees for shadow and a little place with a sunlounger for me. Keep the green clean, don lay down your towels anythere ! Breakfest service for buns in the morning to the door. You can cook for yourself, but better go the the nearest restaurant L'altra Idea, it takes some minutes by food, or you can walk/drive to the city, close to the camping ground is a big parking area. The city is 5 minutes away. clean and friendly environment, not cheep in the high season, but the best choise to the overpriced hotels or the mysterious campsite on the lake.

Our food preferences were respected and there were definitely plenty of options. Giulia (Yeah, I know. A girl named Giulia here in Verona. Before getting home and crossing the border we wanted to get some salami and olive oil…read more We've shopped before at Autogrill. That might appear strange at first or something only tourists would do (well....we are). But the prices are really low on olive oil. But not just that....the quality is high as well. Nothing compared to the standard cheap olive oil we get at home. For a lot higher prices. We bought two huge salami, 6 bottles of extra virgin olive oil (organic, 1 Litre each) and two cans of three-litre extra virgin olive oil. All great stuff and very enjoyable. Especially the organic oil is tasty for cooking, salad or as a topping on any food (like steak tartar). As usual we were very happy with our purchases and will shop at Autogrill again. This one here was a smaller branch, but got everything we wanted.
