I can see how some people would be offended by Dr Agnellis sense of humor, she's very straight forward and doesn't hesitate to joke, while also being very real with you. My husband and I both found her to be an absolute delight, and found her professionalism (and lack of sugar coating) to be very reassuring. The office staff is amazing Tiffany and Aiden were incredibly helpful and kind on every visit. This was our first baby and experience with an OBGYN office, so we were unaware that most doctors don't do ultrasounds every visit! Dr Agnelli let us see our little guy on every visit via ultrasound, which was much appreciated as first time parents with extreme anxiety it was really nice being able to see his development every month. If we ever do have another baby we will absolutely be coming back for care with Dr Agnelli! read more

I asked Dr Agnelli for more information about my medication, and she said "just ask Chat GPT". I said I wanted to ask her and read the literature she uses specifically because the internet is full of misinformation. She dismissed my concerns and refused to answer my questions. Then, she made snide comments about me to her intern, right in front of me. The reception person was rude as well. I don't typically leave doctor reviews but felt I should as I've never had a similar experience to this one. As many others have mentioned, I did not have a good experience with Dr Angelli. My previous doctor retired and I needed to find a new one. Dr Angelli has you meet her in her office for the first visit, I could hear every conversation with other patients as I waited for her as the walls are paper thin and she talks very loudly almost seems intentional. She proceed to tell me that my previous doctor didn't know what she was doing (to put it nicely) through the entire visit and that everything she told me was incorrect/misdiagnosed. She also consistently pushed BC and dismissed my questions & concerns. During the rest of the visit her and her assistant spent the entire time focused on politics and pushing how much they disliked the current president. So much so that they were saying they hope he gets ended. The entire experience was very odd and uncomfortable. I will never go back and don't recommend. read more

Doctor Virginia Agenlli has always made me feel very loved and safe while in her care. She is always so attentive, supportive and caring. Please avoid this doctor and find one that controls their emotions. She raised her voice in anger and then later tried to be nicer to me. She is condescending and obnoxious, and her views (specifically related to HRT for menopause) are dangerously outdated. I did not find her to be highly intelligent, as some reviewers have said. We are all trying to get the care we all need and you will not find that with Dr. Agnelli. I went to her for my third pregnancy and had concerns along the way. How she responded to my concerns tells me alot about the type of provider she is. It's called medical gaslighting and unfortunately this is what I experienced with her. She does not demonstrate patient centered care and blames the patient. She got visibly upset with me for asking how early I can go on disability and even said "I'm not going to lose my license" like what?!?!?! Talk about overreacting for asking a simple reasonable question. She is extremely unprofessional and in my opinion should not be treating pregnant women. I ended up switching providers and on my second visit with the new provider was told I have symptoms of preeclampsia and needed further testing. She also belittled my 7 year old son when I had to take him with me to my appointment. I gave him MY phone to have some entertainment while he waited in the room with me and she ended up snatching the phone from his hands and trying to lecture him about playing games. First of all it was my phone my 7 year old does not have his own phone nor is on a phone all day playing games. How quick she is to judge someone as well and form an opinion based on one interaction. My son is a top reader in his school and performs above grade level in all subjects. He doesn't need to be reprimanded for playing a game on the phone at a doctor appointment for his mom. The first appointment I had with Dr Agnelli was a positive experience, however, the second meeting went off the rails. She laughed at me and humiliated me for having a particular health concern which she had originally brought up as a potential issue. After laughing at me, she dictated her notes out loud in the exam room "due to patient's anxiety..." Following that, she made a couple extremely offensive and inappropriate remarks about my relationship. I won't be going back. The good: she is extremely smart and knowledgeable. She delivered my son and In that moment of labor & delivery she was encouraging, helpful, & professional. I trusted her medical recommendations 100%. You can tell she loves babies. Office staff were wonderful, great follow up, helpful with insurance. We got ultrasound pics every visit. Also my sons circumcision turned out great. The bad: it's mothers and fathers, basically all adults that she hates. If you are first time mom/pregnancy I do not recommend her. Every question and concerns you have, her basic reply is "have you read the book?" Or "what does the book say?" Rudely states "you haven't read anything have you?" Also she is somehow VERY annoyed of fathers. I've caught her rolling her eyes at my husband especially when we take pics or videos of the ultrasound. We are first time parents and it's exciting for us and want to document everything for our families that live far away. Also walls are thin, I have heard her say in regards to patients waiting "where do these people come from..." super annoyed and not in a joking matter. And if you can't speak English, I have heard her say something rude about the fact that the patient couldn't communicate and did not make any effort to help the poor lady except for when the front desk lady translated for the patient, her medical issues out in the open for everyone to hear. I went to Dr. Agnelli in hopes of finding a caring and compassionate female OB/Gyn. I was EXTREMELY disappointed. I have worked in the medical field for a few years now and have never came across a medical professional with poor bedside manners. I expected to connect with this OB/Gyn, as our office refers many patients to her office for consults. I came in to see Dr. Agnelli to build a relationship, full of empathy and trust, however, her skills of bedside manners are clearly lacking in the medical field. I agree with the reviews about her rudeness, curtness and sarcasm. After we brought up concerns of ours she was extremely belittling (as another review stated) in her responses. When discussing medical treatments I was declining she employed fear and could not quote any studies or hard facts when I inquired. She was incomprehensibly rude to my husband, almost as if she has a chip on her shoulder when it comes to men. Her only redeeming quality is her obvious intelligence and that is why I gave her two stars, unfortunately it's tempered by a sharp tongue. Dr. Agnelli is traumatizing. I say this as a therapist who works with trauma and trauma survivors. I could not believe my experience with her today it was surreal. I've already filed a compliant with my insurance but have to speak up here. If you have any questions, want to be proactive and be an informed patient, don't go to her. My first time in the office a year ago I noticed the office staff were all short, a bit rude and talked over me. I wrote it off as the office culture and had an OK visit with the Dr. When I brought up thinking of having a 4th child, she made a remark of "isn't three enough?" and I just dismissed it because I was impressed with all her training and certificates she has plastered all over her office. Today I shared with her my periods were irregular, and she dismissed it as me getting off my birth control a few months ago. I'm in my late 30's and said I thought maybe I was hitting perio-menopause (which my mom had early). She bluntly said "no, your periods are irregular because you got off birth control" without any exam or more back ground information. I tried asking if there was anything else I can do and she got red in the face, took a posturing stance over me and said "Let me teach you a lesson, just because you googled something you went and had your PCP give you lab tests that were completely unnecessary!" At this point I stood up and said "this visit is over." She started packing up and then asked "if that was too harsh for you we can discuss it further" and I said "no this visit is over" and got dressed and walked out, without so much as a look from her staff. I share this in hopes I save other women from seeing this Doctor. She's not "cheeky" or a "straight shooter" she's abrasive, abusive, and unprofessional. read more

I don't leave reviews but I felt like I had to with this doctor. I seen Dr.Agnelli for my prenatal care when I was pregnant. She was the third OB I seen for my pregnancy since the other 2 were just not it. This was my first pregnancy and she made me feel good when I kept worrying about the littlest things, she tells it like it is and does not put up a front. She's very blunt !! If you're the sensitive type then Dr.Agnelli is not for you! I was going alone to these visits since baby daddy was not involved and let me tell you, she made me feel happy and secure Everytime I went to go see her. Every time I had a little concern she would always make me feel much better and confident in my pregnancy, she also made me trust her with the things she would tell me like saying my baby is going to be perfect since I was high risk.. now I have a beautiful 2 month baby girl. Dr. Agnelli isn't for everyone. She's a straight shooter and doesn't suffer fools. That comes across gruff sometimes. Not disputing that. But that's just her surface. If you get to know her, you realize that she has a deadpan sense of humor and she's wicked smart. Trust me, you want some laughs whenever your uterus is up to something. I was looking for a well trained OB. I'm old school in that my birth plan was "Will you keep me and the baby healthy?" I chose her because she was straight with me and kept me safe. When I needed her, she was there for me 100%. She was my doctor for one pregnancy that resulted in a healthy child and two that did not. I have come to know her face when delivering good news as well as bad. She called to check in with me. She cared about me. She listened. She let me weep in her office well past closing. Called multiple times to cancel an appointment and either got a busy tone or their voicemail which said they were closed?? Then the "office manager" finally returned my called about 2 hours later trying to charge my card because I "no call no showed". I went to this doctor thinking it's be near my work which it wasn't but mostly because of the initial receptionist phone call. She was the sweetest woman and I figured it'd be a good doctors office. I'm near two weeks late and home pregnancy test was saying negative. So I went in hoping for bloodwork. They put me in her office instead of a patient room and after waiting Dr. Virginia came in and asked why I'm here. I explained the situation and she kept cutting me off. She wasn't writing anything down and basically said if the urine test said it was negative then it's negative I'm not pregnant and there's no way that the blood work is going to show any differently she explained there is an extremely rare case that ever happens. That she's not going to give me an exam because I'm fine. And She's not going to waste her time doing another urine sample because she felt it was pointless since I did one at home. I mentioned I was in this online group and more than 30 woman said they had negative urine test but positive blood test. And she said that that was unlikely true because it's so rare. WITHOUT any tests or exam. She told me. I was NOT pregnant and I was NOT ovulating. How could she even know this? *FACT: you can have a period without ovulating AND you can technically ovulate and not bleed after. So how could this woman without any exam or proof tell me I'm not pregnant and I'm not ovulating. I told her my cycles are always regular never late and are usually about 25 day cycle. IM ON DAY 45! And she didn't even talk to me about possible reasons why. Maybe something else is going on? Maybe I have pcos. Maybe I'm stressed? Something? But no. She offered no help what so ever. So I told her I keep track of everything that goes on with my body/period/ovulation etc. I told her it has a doctor report on it would she like to see? And she flat out said "no you can use your big girl words" How does any doctor have the nerve to say that to a woman TTC or not that's completely rude and disrespectful. My big girl words should have told her to piss off. I'm coming to her for help! I basically had to beg for a blood test. And she flat out told me I'm not pregnant because I'm not. And I should be in birth control. She notices I put breast cancer a lot in my family and kept hounding me about since they had it. I probably will have it. And I should just know I'm pretty much just going to get breast cancer And I should know now. Oh and the last comment she said to me before I left an they handed me the blood work slip was "well let's see if your a weirdo" but not in a joking matter at all. More like a rude I completely just wasted her time mumble as I was leaving. Honestly I felt awful leaving that place. I felt disrespected and hopeless. With no solution. Because if I'm not pregnant (blood test pending) than I'd like to know what's going on. And if it continues if there's something to help me ovulate. And now still feeling alone and confused. Dr. Agnelli is great. I recently moved away from Socal and she's one of the people I miss the most. That's not a personal thing, it's purely professional and medical. Good gynecs are hard to find, great ones even more so. I was seeing her for specific conditions and she always listened to my needs and concerns and adapted treatment to my comfort. And her administrative staff was highly efficient. They always remind me of appointments and annual checkups. They've delivered bad test results to me with compassion and talked me down from minor panic attacks with kindness. My new doctor's office doesn't seem to care if my health deteriorates. They even want me to make separate appointments for separate conditions. That's probably an insurance thing but i've NEVER had Dr. Agnelli tell me to call back and make a new appointment because we can't talk about a particular health concern in that session. Virginia Agnelli is one of the worst doctors that I've encountered. I read the reviews about her behavior and rude remarks but brushed them off due to a few of the good ones but after my last visit I knew I had to leave immediately. I'm currently 7 months pregnant and felt hopeless a new doctor would take me being so far along but the thought of having her deliver my baby made me feel horrible. I couldn't have someone like that care for me or my child. When I had any questions her answers were belittling and rude and overall left me feeling dumb. I had also complained of pain and discomfort and instead of asking more about it she motioned like she was playing a mini violin (basically saying I was whining). During the ultrasound I had asked her why she was checking the placenta due to a comment she had made, she then looked at me and said "if it doesn't move your baby will bleed to death and we don't want that," in a joking and condescending manner. I didn't see that as funny, I expected her to comfort me and give me a professional response. She is the doctor after all and it just made me worry even more. During my visits there is no sympathy or warmth and you are rushed out of the office every time. If I would ask any further questions or had any concerns she would make comments like "geez, you'd think this was your first baby," or "why didn't you google it." I personally wanted to scream at her but sine she was possibly going to deliver my baby I kept my mouth shut. Luckily, I was able to be transferred to a new facility and no longer need to deal with this doctor. read more

Leaving one star due to the admin staff. First off, they are all rude and act like they hate their jobs. I unfortunately had a miscarriage and wanted to wait a few days before scheduling d&c. When I called to schedule the procedure, I was told I'd get a call back later that day or the following morning. I waited two days and called in to see what the delay was. The "surgeon schedulist" answered. I Asked when I would get getting a call back with dates for scheduling the procedure, as I was suffering and in a great deal of discomfort. She rudely said "first off I have no record of you even calling in. We are short staffed and I have 5 more people ahead of you, so I have no idea when I'll be calling you back." It's now been 5 days, and I still never got a call. Luckily I was able to get in with Dr. Illeck's practice. Turns out, I have a molar pregnancy and needed a procedure right away!! The d&c was completed yesterday at hoag by Dr.Narayan from Illeck's practice. The office was SO nice and accommodating and got me in right away. I am so grateful I went with a practice with hospitality and speedy service. My situation ended up crucial, and had I not seeked help elsewhere I could have ended up in a dire situation- all due to some snotty admin staff that is imcompetent!!! Dr. Agnelli delivered my two beautiful sons. My first son was 32 weeks premature and my experience at Long Beach Memorial was terrifying because of the lack of staff and nurses, not because of Dr. Agnelli. When I got pregnant the second time around I communicated all those issues with her and she did what she could to get me to full term and to deliver at Los Alamitos hospital. You definitely have to have a sense of humor to get Dr. Agnelli. Yes she's sarcastic and blunt, but not in a rude way. She's honest. She listened to my concerns of not wanting another C section, gave me her professional opinion but in the end respected my wishes of a VBAC. I ended up having another C section at 3am and she performed it happily and professionally while keeping me calm the entire time. She even took care to stitch me back up nicely to prevent a big scar. Her staff at the office are also great and very supportive. They're efficient and I never had to wait too long to be seen. I would definitely recommend her if you aren't super sensitive to jokes and blunt facts. read more

NO STARS My insurance changed so I was referred to Dr Arnelli from my primary Dr., I was still communicating with my previous Dr C. Chu (she is amazing) and she had sent personal notes to Dr Arnelli 3 weeks prior to my visit. I was very hesitant to go to this Doctor because of all the negative reviews, and the negative reviews were all confirmed. Dr Arnelli is a know it all!!!! Everything we discussed she had a negative comment about or told me it wasn't necessary, she told me my hot flashes were bad because of all the over dramatics behind them and if I just ignored them they would not be so bad. She tried to argue with me about just having a partial hysterectomy and said that I was misinformed on what surgery I had. Wow!! I know exactly what surgery I had and Arnelli had no idea, she just wanted to disagree with everything I said. I have a family history of cancer ovarian cancer and have had issues in my past and she did not want give me a referral to get an Ultru sound that My previous Dr recommended to Dr Arnelli in the notes. Dr Arnelli insisted my previous Dr (Chu) did not send over any note to her office and I told her I spoke to Chu personally and they need to check again. Come to find out, they found the note and I was correct on having a partial Hysterectomy. I contacted Dr Chu after I left my appointment with Arnelli and she said call Arnelli office and insist on a ultrasound. I did, a month later, 1 day before my appointment I get a call from the Ultrasound office saying the did not receive a approval. I call Arnelli's office and Cindy tell me they never did it, I expressed my frustrations and Cindy says she is the office Manager and she is human and mistakes happen, she gave no apology at all. I understand Human error happens but I would expect an apology form an Office Manager. So now I wait another month to get an ultrasound appointment due to Doctor Arnelli's staff mistakes. I feel like I've been through hell and back with reproductive issues, and I am so thankful I have found Dr Agnelli. Her humor was comforting, and brought light to some very dark times. I had emergency surgery Halloween 2019 and I woke up to a candy bar and a note, she made sure I didn't miss any Halloween fun. During my initial visit and one subsequent visit, the doctor's demeanor was snarky and she brushed off most my questions. She disparaged my primary physician in front of me, made comments about my choice of insurance, which didn't cover an expensive procedure and scolded me for being a "Google doctor" when I brought up anything I found (in medical journals no less) on line that I wanted clarification on. I started seeing Dr. Agnelli this past summer after I found out I was pregnant. I ultimately decided to change providers because of several red flags I was having with her. Her bedside manner leaves something to be desired. This is my first child and I like to learn as much as I can about what's going on with my body and baby. I made sure to always find reliable resources. On multiple occasions, Dr. Agnelli belittled my questions, spoke to me in a condescending tone, and our last conversation she outright got heated and agitated with me when I brought up the topic of my birth plan. One shouldn't feel hesitant to bring up questions or topics to their doctor. Her response was "Oh, you think you're going to be in control??". Completely rude and uncalled for thing to say when I have every right to discuss my birth preferences and wishes. It was then I realized I deserved better and sought out another provider. I'm SO much happier with my new doctor. He is warm and friendly and listens to my questions. We discussed my birth preferences and he makes me feel comfortable and understood. I know others have mentioned Dr. Agnelli having sarcasm, which she does and I didn't mind at first. But her comments are borderline inappropriate or uncalled for. She mocked my desire to have a gender reveal party (an opinion I didn't ask her for) and has even offended my mother and sister who had been going to her for regular gynecology. They, too, won't be seeing her anymore. Having thick skin or not, all patients deserve to be treated with respect and dignity, and I don't believe Dr. Agnelli provides that. read more

I have been going to her for a few years because she is local and covered by my insurance, however I will be searching for someone else. Long story short, when I went in for my annual wellness check, they asked me if I have had any surgeries since my last appointment. I had breast augmentation and told the nurse the date of the surgery. She was professional and just wrote down the date and said thank you. Dr. Agnelli on the other hand said "It is sad how superficial people are now a days and how I see more fake boobs than real ones." I've been seeing Dr Agnelli since she delivered my daughter 9 years ago (which was a surprise as Dr Kizner was our doctor, but apparently he was off that night - if this is your first pregnancy, you should know this is a possibility!). I had an extremely rare complication during childbirth and Dr Agnelli handled it like a pro - I've been seeing her once a year ever since. Her staff is kind and professional, I've never been kept waiting - in fact, I usually get in early, and the Dr is a pro. She's personable and approachable and extremely thorough and experienced.
