According to her, the cleaning was not enough and more services would be needed. She claimed I had severe periodontitis and my teeth would be falling out in no time and suggested I see her again for x rays and a deep cleaning-both expensive procedures. I left completely disappointed and in disbelief. I ended getting a second opinion from a different dentist who did extensive x -rays and a thorough examination. His conclusion was that my teeth were impeccable and in no need of further treatment. This made sense as I floss and brush religiously. In general, my dental maintenance is consistent with standard oral hygiene recommendations. Clearly, Dr. Ewa lied and cared more about gaining more money for her unnecessary, additional services. Suffice to say, I will not be returning and strongly encourage others to avoid her at all costs.

She has a fabulous staff, my appointments always begin on time and takes every insurance imaginable and is really familiar with what is included in your plan before you get there. The office is right between CPW and Columbus on 86th Street. She is super thorough, does the cleaning and X-Rays herself and rarely lets the hygienist get involved. Very hands on and I feel that she actually cares about my canines :) Whenever you leave, she makes sure to stock you up on all the goodies--toothpaste, toothbrush and of course, the floss. Highly recommend her and she works occasionally on Saturdays as well, so if you can't break away from work, she is available. Now excuse me, I have to go admire my pearly whites...

Never behind schedule, appointments are fairly easy to schedule and the location is great. I have had a few things done to my teeth and she has NEVER recommended procedures that are costly or unnecessary. For example: I had a chipped tooth, and I was given three options on handling the crack. This is RARE in the Manhattan dental scene- usually they try to bill you up as much as possible. She even had the receptionist check my insurance prior to taking the full set of xrays as she did not want them to bill me the additional $170 if not covered- very considerate! The only negative: the office and equipment is a bit dated. I would, however trade this in for an honest dentist in a heartbeat.
