Found by accident, truly enjoyed. It's pricey though. Down in the WPB area for back to back events, we needed dinner in between. My wife and I love Mediterranean food. Enroute to our hotel I spotted Agora and checked it out online. Reviews were good, never had Turkish food (we love Greek, Israeli, we recently tried Lebanese) so this sounds aswesome. Easy reservations at 5.30, our next event was 7 pm Greeted warmly and picked any table. Place did fill in by the time we left. No table pita or salads, so good to know. We had: 1) Eggplant 2) Pita and Hummus (less Tahini than Greek, still delicious) 2) Dumpling Dish 3) Beyti 4) One glass wine. At the end they brought some Turkish tea shots on the house. Always a fantastic experience here. The restaurant is a warm and friendly, family run establishment. All of the dishes we've had have been very good. Hubby and I were in area for a different Yelp event that afternoon, so we decided to stay the night and make an evening of it in Palm Beach. As we were driving to our hotel, we passed Agora. It looked cute, so we yelped it and decided to give it a try. We arrived early and there was maybe one other person in the restaurant, but when we left, it was almost full. We tend to like to share plates so we can try a variety of things and I'm glad we did! First, we ordered a cold meze of eggplant and garlic, but our waiter informed us that it would be served hot (we didn't understand the reason but it was OK by us). It was delicious! We then tried hummus and pita, and the manti meze, which was dumplings filled with meat and topped with a garlic cream sauce. The hummus was good, but not the best I've ever had, it's like it was missing tahini. The beef dumplings were excellent! Finally, we shared a beyti which is lamb on flat, wrapped in lavash, w/yogurt, tomato sauce, and vegetables. We ended up eating the beef and leaving most of the lavash (too many carbs, not because of the taste). Overall everything was very good and the servers were attentive. Last night my mother, partner, and I dined at Agora Kitchen for Mother's Day. As a well-travelled New Yorker with an adventurous attitude towards food, I've tried a bit of everything. That is, besides Turkish food. From the incredibly warm service, to the expert recommendations, and some of the best food I've ever tasted, Agora Kitchen exceeded every expectation. After watching a show called AnotherSelf, based in costal Turkey (a town called Ayvalik), I'd wanted to try Turkish food. Everything we tasted was unique, beautiful, and made with so much love and care. I'm so glad I got to try Agora Kitchen. I'll be returning for client lunches (I'm a business owner), family events, and notable occasions. In only one visit, Agora Kitchen became so special to me. This restaurant is not in a great area, could use a bit more atmosphere, but... the food was really quite good. Portions are alarming large- so order accordingly. Greek salad- finely diced was fresh and crisp Lacmacoun was crisp and savory And the mixed grill for ONE- could easily fed 3. The stewed veggies that came with the entree was superb! Okay, RUN, don't walk, but RUN to this place. Everything is perfect about it. We were greeted by the owner, who is enthusiastic and attentive. We learned a bit about the restaurant's history. Then we started eating. Oh my. What combination of flavors and spices! I had the red lentil soup, which was phenomenal. So many herbs and spices, and a subtle but special hint of mint. Wow. We next had the meatball appetizer which is served with pasta, yogurt and tomato sauce. Delicious. And plentiful! We ended with the lamb flat, which is basically lamb on white rice with grilled vegetables, and naan bread. So very, very good! Even the rice, which is normally an afterthought in restaurants, was flavorful cooked right. Did I have room for dessert? No. But the owner gave us a couple of baklava and oh my was it amazing! We are walking out of here with full stomachs and amazing leftovers. Can't wait to come back and try more dishes. I'm telling you now. Run don't walk to this little slice of heaven in West Palm. An absolutely amazing Turkish restaurant. My wife and I were looking for a place that was authentic and home style cooking. The food is fresh and made with love. We were greeting very enthusiastically by the owner. You can tell he loves to share his food and culture with his customers. So friendly and fun! The service is on point! They are very attentive and knowledgable about the menu. My wife started out with the red lentil soup. Absolute delish! The herbs and spices, wow! And the best part was the hint if mint. It was the icing on the cake for this dish. I had the manti meze, beef dumplings with herbs and spices in a tomato, yogurt, garlic sauce. This absolutely blew me away!! I could have eaten tons of this dish. My wife and I shared the lamb flat. Spectacular. The roasted tomatoes, the lamb, and veggies... it was all perfect! The rice too! There aren't many places that can make rice tasty but they know what they are doing! Found this place randomly; couldn't have been more pleased! If we lived closer, this would be a regular date night spot for us. We had such a great experience! We were welcomed so warmly it felt like we were guests in someone's home. The hosts turned out to be the owners. And they didn't just seat us and get our orders. They engaged us in conversation for quite a while and eventually got around to the menu. It was really nice. Once they got on the subject of the food, they were so proud of every dish and everything sounded so good. At the suggestion from the host, we decided on the Stormy Ridge cabernet. That was so good we bought 2 bottles to go when we checked out. We ordered Baba Ganouj for an appetizer. Most restaurants only give you a bit more than a sample size. Not here! They served a full size plate of it and boy it was good! We both got the specials. I'm upset I can't remember the names of the dishes. But between the chicken dish and the beef dish, we were so impressed that we bought the same order to bring back to my wife's parents. It was fantastic. We topped it all off with the chocolate cheesecake. This homemade wonder was so delicious that my wife and I fought for the last few forkfuls. The owners were very proud of their restaurant and shared their story with us. The restaurant itself was very clean and beautifully decorated. The bathroom alone was worth the trip! It's furnished like a living room. There's a whole wall on the way to the bathroom covered in raving reviews of the place. They deserve every one of them. So first time here. A good friend of ours wanted to celebrate her birthday with Middle Eastern food. This place does not disappoint. First of all, food is excellent. Staff super friendly entertainment was a belly dancer which apparently they do every night. Nothing but good things to say about this place. We had a grape leaves, hummus and a triple shish combo of lamb beef and chicken. Absolutely fantastic. It's not a fancy place but who cares when the food is this good. Wine and beer only. Agora Mediterranean Kitchen - Greek Salad with falafel - Mediterranean Near Me - West Palm Beach, Florida

I might have given this 3 stars because parking is a challenge and the menu is pricey. But their Turkish hospitality and food taste won me over to go up a half star rather than down. This is quite an authentic Turkish restaurant and there aren't many of these in the area. They start you out each with a (comp) glass of homemade sangria. We followed that with a (shared) appetizer of saksuka. This was a cold appetizer of chopped eggplant mixed with potatoes, zucchini, and tomatoes and garlic. It came with a basket of warm pita wedges which they refilled constantly. We then shared an Adana kebab -- here called a "lamb on flat". This is a ground grilled lamb skewer with a bit of spice served over bulgur rice and with some grilled veggies. In other restaurants, they've stated that's its spicy, but it's never really been served that way. This version is definitely a tad spicy -- you can taste the chili pepper flakes. It came with a small cup of the Turkish version of tzatziki sauce. While waiting for dessert, they served us each a (comp) glass of limoncello (house made) and a tiny serving of (comp) banana pudding with a cherry on top. For dessert, we shared an order of knafeh . Their version had a flaky filo on the outside. It had some honey rose water syrup and chopped pistachios on top. read more

Came to Agora Kitchen around 7 pm on a Saturday. Before I even start with the review I would like to address the live music they had. It really didn't add to the ambiance.  It actually took away from the overall culinary esthetic.  70s ballads, Johnny Cash and Elvis.  Not even remotely sure how this relates to Mediterranean food.  On the intermissions they played greek music which was absolutely awesome and later there was belly dancing also okay.  But the singer was absolutely awful. It was like a bad comedy movie. On to the restaurant.  Agora Kitchen has very tasty Mediterranean food.  We started our night with a bottle of water and two beers.  They gave us complimentary sangria shots which were just okay and  pita and olives.  I really wished they had a dipping sauce for the pita, even olive oil.  Still it was a nice touch.  For an appetizer we ordered the sampler platter.  They had stuffed grape leaves, a white bean salad, leeks with rice, a pastry with I think spinach in it, and eggplant with peppers.  I really enjoyed it all. For the main course we had a special, the lamb shank.  It was OMG DELICIOUS.  The lamb shank was worth the journey.  I would return here for the lamb, but that music by the awful singer I could live without.  Without that music it would have been at least a 4 star review.  The live entertainment severely detracted from the culinary experience. The belly dancer came on at 8pm which actually redeemed the night. Thank goodness! And with our check they gave limoncello and banana pudding. It was a nice touch. Next time I will definitely find out what the festivities are before I visit. EPILOGUE: The owner of the restaurant sent me a message asking me to change my review to 4-5 stars. I sent back a message explaining that my review was for the overall experience, not just the food. "4 stars would have been generous and 5 stars would have been a blatant lie." If I had ordered take out then I would have just reviewed the food. As it is, because of the owner's response to me, I will probably not be returning. It is obvious that this establishment does not handle criticism very well. Instead of simply apologizing for the bad experience, they tried to gaslight me. The entertainment was like a parody of bad karaoke, absolutely awful and had the food not been good we would have complained very vocally and left. In fact, the only reason we stayed as long as we did, was because it started pouring rain outside. Finally, the service was quite good. Still a 3 star experience. read more
