We waited a while, but the maitre d' kept coming over and apologising, and after about 30 minutes they gave us a free round of drinks, woohoo!! We didn't even mind the wait, as it was so lovely and warm, we were drinking delicious prosecco and beer and were generally comfortable and having a fun time :D We were seated and landed a much sought after outdoor table. We went straight for the mains, as it was getting quite late. The menu is in French, Italian and English, and like Menton itself, the restaurant seems to have an Italian vibe (and not just through its cuisine). My boyfriend and I are vegetarian, and had no problem finding something on the menu. I ordered the stuffed courgette flowers, he had the basil and tomato pasta. Both were fantastic, although the courgette flowers were meant as a starter so only get them if you're not that hungry. Or as a starter, of course. Our meat eating friends ordered the veal and something else I can't remember, but said that both were delicious. We finished the meal with some gorgeous complimentary limoncello. The service was fantastic, the food was perfect, overall a fantastic evening. You can spend a little or a lot here, depending on what you go for, so it should suit most budgets. They managed to create the impression that we were very much valued customers, despite being rushed off their feet. Overall, highly recommended.

The place is bustling and is full of outside tables that overlook the scores of people walking around. With your coffee, they bring out a few complimentary pastries to enjoy, and you may even encounter a man selling roses in the process. The scene is very classic European and will set the tone for any tourist. The pastries and coffee aren't great... Average at best I'd say. Overall I'd say this restaurant seems more like a place to go out of convenience than for food quality. It's surrounded by many other restaurants and cafes, thus I'd recommend trying other places before coming here.

Both were really great. The bread is just unbeatable. It was crisp and doughy and slightly olive oiled. The fillings were as fresh as could be and very generous. However, that sandwich was monstrous. Wayyyyyy more than I could ever eat alone. My dad got the ham and cheese sandwich and my mom got the chicken and no one got remotely close to finishing. I would definitely purchase at least one sandwich less than members of your party. We had no trouble at all finishing the one tart we got to split. As you can see in the photo, it was a thing of grand beauty. The baked apricot was tart and sweet and juicy and the custard beneath it was soft and creamy, a perfect contrast to the crisp crunch of the base.

This place had been recommended by a couple of friends, but we had no idea how good it would be…read more The menu offers a large selection of savory crepes; I think they also had sweet, but we didn't look at those. We ended up going for dinner twice in less than a week, and we got six different crepes. These aren't street crepes that taste and look fried (not that that's a bad thing!). They seem fresh and less greasy. The first time around, I got a ratatouille crepe, which was excellent. My wife got a curry crepe, and she loved it. They had other meat, seafood, cheeses, fun names and ingredients that you wouldn't even think of. The location is at the far east end of the tourist strip, so it's a little less crazy than just a couple of blocks away. The entrance is a bit hidden even though it's just off the street. It's in a cellar, which keeps it cooler, although it can get crowded quickly. We didn't have reservations, but we showed up right when it opened and found out that it fills up quickly. The prices are cheap for the size and quality of the crepes: everything runs from about $3 to $7. Just remember: cash only!
