A must when you go to Lisbon! The food was spectacular!! Make a reservation if you can. It's a small restaurant, but so worth a visit!

    Amazing wine!

Seriously, this was a superb meal we had in Lisbon the last night we were there and went to this restaurant based on a recommendation of someone we met at Time Out Market. They were absolutely correct because this place was fantastic!! I decided to leave out the meat and seafood this night, so I could share several things with my friend who is a vegetarian. We started with mushrooms with breadcrumbs on top and it had so much flavor, it was actually unbelievable. The white wine sauce and breadcrumbs added to the dish in a perfect way, but I was impressed with how much I enjoyed the mushrooms since they aren't usually my favorite. Next, we shared a trio of dips: hummus, guacamole, and olive tapenade. Each were very flavorful and delicious, but the olives were the shining star. The third thing we shared was a phyllo dough pastry filled with apples and brie and was served with julienned apples with a zesty dressing. Oh. My. God. One of the best cheese dishes I have ever had in my life. The apples inside the phyllo dough was almost like apples in an apple pie and paired so well with the brie. If you order anything, order this dish if they have it on the menu for the night!! Lastly, because there is never enough cheese, we shared a cheese platter made from cow, sheep, and goat milk. I was absolutely so full but we still ate it because...cheese. We ordered a bottle of Vinho Verde and it paired extremely well with what we ate. The ambiance is super cute, the service absolutely superb, and the check was presented in an old school toy calculator/register machine. In English, this restaurant is called, "Needle in a Haystack," and that is exactly how I feel about this restaurant because it is like finding a needle in a haystack of perfection.

Goat cheese and apple pastry with salad

The best food I had in Portugal and that's saying a lot cause this trip was one of the worst for meals when you don't like seafood. You won't regret coming here that's a promise. It's good enough that if there was another chance for me to go again I would. The downside is you need a reservation because of how small it is so that's kind of annoying. We showed up without one and were told maybe we could stay if we ate under an hour....then it was well actually 45 mins. Please direct me to any kind of restaurant in Europe that gets the food out and the bill paid in that time frame cause it doesn't happen! So because of all the reviews and the Airbnb recommendation I made a reservation. Anyways the goat cheese with apple pastry was amazing, so good that we ordered it again except it didn't taste as good as the first time. The pica pau was good, the sauce was the best part to soak with bread but I didn't get a picture of it. The meat enchido was ok, had we known it was going to have morcilla we probably wouldn't have ordered it. The middle meat selection has a mixture with flour which texture and taste wise for me I didn't like. But the chorizo and slices were good.

My taste buds got together and learned Portuguese they could write a thank you note to the kitchen staff. I took photos of everything including the signature cocktail and made my social media friends look at them. This place rocks! (Literally. They have a rocking playlist and live music at night.) No matter your appetite, this place has snacks and full entrees that span a range of palate-pleasers. You cannot go wrong here ordering something out of the ordinary or sticking with what's familiar. The staff are always in motion serving patrons and checking on tables. They seem very happy working together as a team. Their smiles were not just for guests but for each other. Comfortable indoor seating as well as relaxing outdoor seating to accommodate any size of party. Happy Hour specials and 2-for-1 pizza Sundays after 7 PM make this a great spot for anyone on a budget. They do not skimp on creativity or flavor. Treat yourself and try them early in your stay. You'll be better off than me with the option of returning here once more before you have to go back home. Manga!

Didn't have much expectations thinking it was gonna be a tourist trap but I was wrong everything came out to be exceptional. My group got 2 pitchers of their sangria and it was delicious and tasty. Their seafood is pretty fresh and everything came out to be very flavorful. I personally enjoyed the camarones y cahuil which is shrimped drenched in garlic and butter. Only mistake we had was the pizza and ceviche but nonetheless everything else was delicious. Big plus is the atmosphere. Music was on point and the vibe was what we needed after a long day. Would recommend this place if your in the area. Take note they have happy hour for drinks and their cocktails are exceptional.

However, we eventually grew tired of this and wanted to enjoy a cocktail or two with the locals. After doing some shopping, we stumbled upon The Bar. Unlike some of the other bars, The Bar does not have outdoor seating. Therefore, you have to keep your eyes peeled for the entrance. Upon entering the dimly lit intimate bar, we were warmly greeted by a bartender named Joao. We took in the romantic ambiance (they have a Louis Vuitton Virgil Abloh collector's book!) as we found seating on one of their cozy + comfy couches. My wife ordered the Porn Star Martini (you gotta love an establishment that has a little fun with the name of their drinks) and I ordered the Long Island Iced Tea (this used to be my go-to back in my clubbing days). I knew the drinks would be delicious when I saw Joao carefully crafting the drinks as if he was bathing a newborn. Six minutes later we were sipping on our delectable drinks. In fact, the drinks were so delectable that we slowly sipped them to not finish them too quickly. We made repeated visits to The Bar during our stay in Lisbon, specifically for their Happy Hour that takes place from 5pm to 8pm. With the exception of the signature cocktails, all cocktails are $7 during Happy Hour. If you're looking to consume an adult beverage in a comfortable, cozy, and non-touristy environment...I highly recommend The Bar!

Our server informed us they close at 11 but still served us at 11:10, we apologized but he insisted we stay. This was the main reason I am going with 5 stars. This server was very kind and brought us our drink that we drank rather fast so that he could get home as soon as possible. Both of our drinks were expertly made and the ambiance only added to the experience.
